In 1965, the government promised that Medicare would only cost $12 BILLION by 1990. They were WAYYYY off. It cost over $110 BILLION in 1990. The government is ALWAYS wrong about how much things will cost. Medicare loses BILLIONS every year. Social Security loses BILLIONS every year. What Lawrence O'Donnell and his kind dont get is that Social Security and Medicare was not designed to buy peoples votes every four years. The same will happen with Obamacare.
Every four years it will be how to fund it and how to save it by taxing the richest 1% until they run out of them. Then go for the other richest 98%, including the guy at McDonalds Drive-thru, to pay for the congressmen and women who shafted us at a $165,000 a year salary.

If you want somebody to blame for the way health care is today, look back about 40 years ago when Government got its grubby paws into health care. They shoved themselves in as a middle man and prices started become more responsive to inflation. Recently inflation sky rocketed, and thus, increasing health care costs. In 1965, the government promised that Medicare would only cost $12 BILLION by 1990. They were WAYYYY off. It cost over $110 BILLION in 1990. The government is ALWAYS wrong about how much things will cost. Medicare loses BILLIONS every year. Social Security loses BILLIONS every year. This government couldn't even run the Cash for Clunkers program properly where all they had to do was reimburse dealerships $4500 per car. Why the hell do you trust them to take over Health Care? The tenth amendment clearly states "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution nor prohibited to it by the states are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Health care is not mentioned anywhere in the 18 enumerated powers of Congress and the 10 amendment says if it's not in the constitution it's a power of the states. Government intrusion in health care is unconstitutional and so is just about everything else that's been done over the last 100 years

Slavery is the ownership of another person's labor. If I were forced to laber and the product of my labor was owned and consumed by another person, then I would be a slave of that person. Under Socialism a person's labor is assumed to be not his own property but property of the state. The state allows that person to keep a fraction of what he earns. Others in society consume the labor so Socialism is Slavery

The post office loses money. The BOE is a disaster. The FBI is necessarry. The FDIC is necessary in that it is a regulatory body. Medicare is a disaster that loses billions a year. The powers of our federal government are specifically outlined in the Constitution. Every thing else is supposed to be run by the states. Constitutional worship is unhealthy when they added Prohibition into it causing the rise of gang violence in Chicago. You're also ignoring the Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness aspect.
