That's eureka and renton living together in the forest. they're alive.

@chillicheesecat Not all anime's suck. just a majority. Also, Eureka is "technically" from this generation of anime. There are many new anime's with strong qualities that make them original and interesting; for example, the new "Panty and Stocking." Eureka 7 is a beautiful anime, yes. But I don't think you should bash ALL other animes. You should look into searching for other quality animes.

Oh quit being asinine. Such a whiny attitude. With entertainment in general you have to shift through a lot of stuff to find stuff that suits your tastes. For instance, I bet you haven't seen Mushi-shi or Baccano. It's kind of ridiculous to list of like 10 different major themes and broad genres and then bash every show in those genres. For instance, Claymore and D. Gray-Man are great shows, but are out because of your limits. Ouran is hilarious, but suffers the same problem.

Sigh...my point was that I'm not the biggest Japanophile around. But you come off as a stuck up asshole who dislikes any culture different than his own. The "this is America" stuff is prickish. There's nothing wrong with a show that incorporates a different culture in its stereotypes and humor and historical background. Like I also said, I don't agree with broad dismissals of entire genres, of anything. That's never a balanced assessment.

I'm studying Germanic languages personally, but learning any language is good, and Japan has the world's 3rd largest economy and is one of the most populous developed countries, so how is that "shit stupid, and lame in every single way". Just curious. I'm learning German partly because I want to be able to read their literature in the original language in which it was written.

You're still making a big leap though. Not everyone who watches a show is going to geek out over it. While the different culture is always an element of appeal, people like it for the fact that it is something different than the ordinary humdrum blase element of American consumerist culture. So you're really unfairly bashing a big part of the general appeal of anime.
