@AllKnowingCreator Come on; Get Real! What does Noam Chomsky stand to gain by telling us these things? He could be labeled a terrorist and sent to Gitmo ! We all could for that matter- the illusion of a government that supports our Bill of Rights, in the Constitution, has been dashed to pieces! We need his voice out there, as well as anyone else, willing to stand up for the principles our 'democracy' was founded upon !!
As far as I know...only US dropped A-bombs on women and children. And UK- "Bomber Harris" wiped out Dresden in one night. Great democratic nations. God preserve us from their democracy.
The US military continues to ignore the speech on the Military-Industrial Complex by President Eisenhower.
So many American public and private organizations follow orders like those from Joseph Stalin's Communist USSR, Benito Mussolini's Fascist Italy, and Adolf Hitler's Nazi Germany.
I will never apologize for trying to expose corrupt people and organizations that some have become evil. My elected officials proved they cater money or groups that influence their election and reelection.
>This guy is an avowed communist whose intent is the destruction of personal liberty in exchange for a corporatist government.
How fucking ignorant can you get? Chomsky wants a corporatist government? He's spoken out several times against the influence of corporations over the state, and the idea that a corporation should have as many/more rights than citizens; and even aside from that, he describes himself as an anarchist.
i dont vote anymore cause corporations and lobbyists just elect ppl these days. Only Ron Paul can change some things, but even he is not powerful enough.
@AllKnowingCreator You obviously seem confused about the terms 'democracy', 'republic', and 'communist'. And if Chomsky is against anything, then it is against corporations seizing control! One the one hand, you are against corporations and say capitalism is dead, and on the other, you seem to hate any kind of alternative as espoused by great thinkers like Chomsky (and no - he's not an avowed communist bent on destroying personal liberties. What utter nonsense!).
@wda013 At this point I am not able to provide the information you requested apart from the advice given previously. The Histories of Violence website will officially launch on 10 Sept. 2011. At that time the date of the original interview with Chomsky will be posted there, I'm sure. Sorry.
Thank you to Noam Chomsky.. the greatest mind in our Nation and he is never on main stream Television and rarely on the radio, not even NPR.. only Democracy Now! Such a giant...
@bizakis9 Chomsky has given an anecdote about how he once was scheduled to give an interview at a PBS studio somewhere in Massachusetts. Everything was set to go, Chomsky was in the interviewee's chair and mic'd up. At that very point, the station manager for PBS Boston (if I recall correctly) had just caught wind of Chomsky's imminent appearance and canceled the whole thing. The journalist that was to interview Chomsky apologized and admitted that such a thing has never happened before... ever.
Almost all terrorism is actually just "blow back" (payback) for terrorism inflicted upon other countries by the USA. That's just a simple fact. Read the book- Killing Hope: Us Military and CIA Interventions Since World War 2. It lays down all of the proof and was written by a longstanding member of the US state department. The US CIA built, armed and deployed the Taliban (and its satellite groups) to wage proxy war against the Russians; then we fucked them. We reap what we sew.
@bamboo4tameshigiri There are exceptions though. When the West prevented genocide in East Timor, the terrorism endured took the shape of the Bali nightclub bombing. Preventing genocide was enough to provoke an attack of terrorism which killed or injured close to 500 people.
There is nothing wrong with any economic doctrine if people are free.
