@jebacjutube Remember though that all of the Zerg strains have hardened carapaces. It would be like you fist fighting a tank. I am sure he did fight back with all that he had, but ultimately against the Zerg's hardened shells it would be futile.

Can anyone who knows about the lore of the game explain why his warp blades failed? They are supposed to be powered by his own psionic powers are they not?

The influence of the overmind over Aiur was making some protoss warriors sluggish and unable to battle properly.

It only happened to those that had their Psionic abilities in a higher state that the common Zealot.

@BluelightSpike Interesting. Did you get that from one of the books (I've not read any of them)? I don't recall any of that information coming from the game itself. Regardless, thanks for the response. I suppose it makes sense since as the Overmind did touch Zeratul's mind and if he could learn a guarded secret such as the location of Aiur it is conceivable that he might be able to learn of ways to hinder the Protoss warriors during his assault of the Protoss homeworld.

The overmind not only worked against Protoss Psionic Abilities, but it also hindered Terran Ghost to be able to read their enemies movements... Making them confused, and prone to irritation.

warcraft 3 is when you had proper open gl and direct3d.

not to talk about probably 10-14 times faster videocards.

@Road2Perfection The OpenGL/Direct3D has nothing to do with it. The cinematics are pre-rendered in Blizzard studios, and shown in the game using video. The difference is that Blizzard's own rendering quality improved dramatically in WC3 (and I'd say Diablo II), as well as their animation. Notice that there is no melee fighting in any of the StarCraft cinematics ;)

he died for several reasons. a few of them are, he needed the energizer bunny at his side, he forgot to charge his batteries, the little boy who buaght him didnt read "batteries not included", he needed duricell, and many more.  but the real reason his spy blades died is becuase.....THE FUCKING SCRIPT SAID SO!!!

When I first saw this cinematic, that's the impression that I got. So there's no real in-universe explanation to why his psi-blades went dead.

That's called "Cutscene Power to the Max" (TVTropes), and it's not unique to Star Craft.

The StarCraft game also has Ghosts guiding tactical nukes onto bases, which can't even destroy a single building. If they did that in a cutscene, that'd be just ludicrous.
