Thanks, you solved a problem for me. Looked on Google for a remedy to do this feathered image action, your video was easier to understand than the GIMP website itself. Please, can I do an invisable backgroud, rather than fill with black? Ie it feathers to nothing so I can paste it to any colour background? Chris.

just fill it with black instead of white or change the background and foreground colors to black (the overlapping squares) or delete it :))
