@Darklite117 No, stock 550mhz core and 800mhz memory ;) I can overclock, but then I need be sure the laptop won't overheat. This computer is quite hot, but removing dust from the fan/cooling-system lowers the heat by 10 degrees if it's been a while since last time ;D
@Techno753 It depends on what you plan to do with it mainly. Gaming?
Many heavy video and editing programs often works better with 4 cores. Some games use only 2 cores, but I guess the new games use 4 cores if possible
This means that if you intend to work with a lot of multitasking, photoshop, sony vegas etc. you should pick the i7. It will handle a lot of tasks better.
I have no experiences with the i5, so at this point I pick the i7 because it will do the work with no problem. It has for me
Would i get roughly the same performance when using an Intel Core i3-330M when playing cod: world at war on the same settings? Would there be any decrease in FPS?
Quick question..what is the heat like. That is my only worry with the i7 instead of the i5. And I expect you don't get more than an hours worth of battery life do u?
@melforever27 I do get more than an hour, but I usually use it plugged :) Not sure about the exact time though.
It is a small laptop, but with quite strong components so the temperature is maybe a bit high. Still the maximum I've seen is 76-79 degrees celcius on the CPU and 78 on the GPU. This is while playing Bad Company 2 on mostly high settings and native resolution.
Would've liked to see some cooler temperatures since I'd like to try some overclocking, but still not too bad :)
I just saw another retailer tht puts a i7 620m into it..seriously considering that now..may be even better for the temps as its a 35w instead of the 40w of the i7 720qm.
Being able to overclock the gpu would have more of a benefit in games than the little(if any) of the quad core 720qm. What do u think?
@melforever27 The only advantage of the quad will be in quadcore applications like Sony Vegas etc. and some new games as far as I know, since when the i7 is working in dual core turbo (2,4ghz) the 620M will probably be better with 3.06GHz when using dual core turbo. There isn't really much of a difference though, I think, and lower power consumption and probably temperatures will be positive for overclocking.
I chose 720QM because I like to edit videos and quad is the future, most likely :P
@DeYellowPikachu I think the card delivers quite much performance for this price :) Playing many new games with no problems. I chose i7 because I wanted a quad-processor. The i7-620M is also a good choice if you want dualcore instead of i5 ;)
@daddydangerous20 I've been thinking about it, but not sure yet since it's a laptop and it may get heat/power problems. When I bought it I thought my GPU clockspeeds were 600mhz and 800mhz (memory), but it turns out that it is 550mhz and 800mhz.
Would've been nice to get 50-100mhz more, but I don't know how "smart" it is to do so.
I'm getting a gaming computer soon and I'm not computer smart but will a i5 2.26 ghz, 4 gb ram, same graphics card as yours, be able to run present day games like cod 6 and dirt 2?? Also, what are fraps?? Sorry if its a stupid question
pause at 00:51 and tell me there horrible graphics

The graphics card is most important for gaming so I don't think there will be any big difference between i5 and i7.
I'm very pleased with the performance in Cod6, but I've not tried dirt 2 on it. It's also performing good on BFBC2 :)
I think your specs looks good and will probably give much performance for the money.
Fraps is a program used to film games ;)

@xilizo Okay man. Thanks a lot. The VRAM is actually 1 GB and most I think are 512 mb or whatever so I should be fine then. Again thanks a lot
