Steve, I've owned a bunch of bags since 1975. The earlier bags had issues with stitching and quality control. My first Down bag was a Camp 7, when they used to be made in US, it was great for about 15 years. At the same time I bought a Northface Synthetic which I gave to a buddy that was still very good.

The bag in the video is a Western Mountaineering HighLite. It's usually plum in color, but a few years ago they had a shortage of the plum material so I took one in blue. Steve

Best bag advice I have seen and heard.. All of it is very truthful and realistic in its advice. Thanks for posting this one. So many individuals forget about making a old bag into a warmer bag or using a light bag in summer and building it up for a colder use. Name of the game is to "Think things thru" logically.

I have owned and still own both types of bags but still prefer synthetic. It's way cheaper and when wet, they will still keep you way warmer than a wet down bag. My favorite is a 45 F. synthetick with a Thermolite liner. Gives me a lot of versitility in a very small no-stuff-sack package. I did enjoy this. Good presentation.
