True, but looking at history, people tend not to look at what started the fight only how it's fought and who is the victor, but, yeah, Jareth is totally within the right of keeping Toby. Unless Sarah were to offer something of equal value in exchange.
technically, if you boil everyone in that movie down, he is the bad guy because he's keeping Toby from Sarah. But yeah, I agree, he is an amazing character.
