What do you mean by interchangeable? They're not interchangeable; a heterosexual relationship carries the possibility of natural reproduction and the relationship dynamic itself tends to be different. I do believe in marriage equality, however. No special treatment or PC horseshit; I just believe that we should be able to get married and be left alone. It wouldn't hurt society at all. I don't think gayness should be "encouraged", just tolerated as existing and not reviled.

1. I don't know where you found the 25 or 33% of people being gay (???) but... never mind. LGBT people represent 5% of the population. (So no 25 or 30 or 33 or 35%)
2. The are on average 2 gay men per 1 lesbian (so 320.000.000 people live in USA, that's 15M LGBT people (5%), which means 10M gay men, 5M lesbian)
3. That would be an average of 200,000 gay men per american State, and 100,000 lesbians per State (which is not that crazy number if you think abou it) 300,000 X 50 states = 15M. LGBT-
4. Lgbt stands for Gays, Lesbians Transexuals Transgenders and Bisexuals, so a lot of groups are part of that, you understand that the number of gays and lesbians is even lower, so much lower than an average of 200,000 gay men per american State and 100,000 lesbians per american State. Most of these Lgbt can be even part of sub groups, so it could even be that the number of say gay men in a state like Illinois is less than 100,000, and I don't believe that is a crazy exaggerated number.

There are states which have passed laws blocking them from the same legal contracts straight people take for granted. They're not interchangeable; a heterosexual relationship carries the possibility of natural reproduction and the relationship dynamic itself tends to be different. I do believe in marriage equality, however. No special treatment or PC horseshit; I just believe that we should be able to get married and be left alone. It wouldn't hurt society at all. I don't think gayness should be "encouraged", just tolerated as existing and not reviled.

Also, for those who oppose gay adoption: Growing up in an orphanage increases the likelihood of drug use, criminal behavior and psychological issues. ANY caring parents--gay or otherwise--are fat better than that.

2. The are on average 2 gay men per 1 lesbian (so 320.000.000 people live in USA, that's 15M LGBT people (5%), which means 10M gay men, 5M lesbian)
3. That would be an average of 200,000 gay men per american State, and 100,000 lesbians per State (which is not that crazy number if you think abou it) 300,000 X 50 states = 15M. LGBT-

Of course they're more tolerant - you most certainly are not if you want to deny a segment of the population basic civil rights for no other reason than the fact they love a person of the same sex. Once same sex marriage is legally nationally then we'll be able to get a more accurate estimate for the number of gay people in this country.

@pretorious700 Marriages becomes public record. The more stigma there is surrounding being gay the more difficult it will be get an accurate count. Gays struggle with plenty of civil rights. There are states which have passed laws blocking them from the same legal contracts straight people take for granted. They also suffer greater discrimination in places like Oklahoma where people in places of authority let their 'distaste' (to put it lightly) color their judgment and treat them unfairly.

I knew a guy in high school he ran around telling everyone he was gay because he thought being gay was cool and he was progressive, but the thing was , he wasn't gay at all.He thought being gay was " cool"

I wouldn't say that.
People can acquire new kinks, preferences, etc. and branch out as they go in life, but nobody changes their sexuality completely. Countless "former gays" are eventually either found trysting with other men or in gay bars.
