Adding to ripping off The Beatles' bass line, rhythm guitar, lead break and guitars from 'Taxman' and the whole 'Revolver' period, it is interesting to observe that Weller and Co. have also appropriated the look of the 1966 Fabs. No imagination.

@drutgat2 Except he hasn't. Weller's look was always borne out of mod. The Beatles were a different bag altogether. Of course this tune is a rip-off/homage to Taxman, but to base a criticism of his entire work on it is a mistake. After all, the Beatles, the Stones et al completely 'ripped off' the rhythm and blues and early soul output of America.

Why isn't he playing any of his new stuff? He got the godlike genius award right? Don't get me wrong I love The Jam hits so much but he needs to play more of his new stuff at gigs like this or he'll never break away from the jam nostalgia and become his own act. Tbh I think he needs to reform the jam soon, it really is time that people like me got the chance to see them, The Jam are my favorite band, unfortunately i was born in '92 which was a while after they split... for fuck sakes!

But looking at the bigger picture I think we'd all like to see a Jam revival not that its very likely :L

As a 30 years long Jam fan, I reckon it's a pity he's now against all he said about the reasons given to disband the Jam. Didn't want to be like the Stones, singing Satisfaction at 50...He's singing Jam anthems at 52. I find more honest for him to reform the Jam, be it for charity at least. That's'd make many many people happy; me at least.
