Thanks Hondo for uploading this episode. I remember watching this as a kid, during spring break that week. Wish i could go back to 1983, and watch every episode of hit man. Peter Tomarken was the perfect emcee for this show.
Randy was then a contestant on PYL just 5 months later...how did he get on so soon after his HM appearance? B/c the show was cancelled, they gave him a waiver.
This is a hilarious ticket plug at the end. And Peter Tomarken left the studio in high spirits, unlike Richard Dawson with the Family Feud finale. He seemed to have acted as if he had optimism he would gain more game show hosting experience - he would return to the limelight to host Press Your Luck later that year. And the Lysol Pine Tree-o from the show's final commercial was so cute!
Wow, one of the researchers was Fred Wostbrock (pronounced Westbrook) himself? Cool!
Also, thanks for uploading--I'd always wanted to hear the greatest ticket plug of all time. It's a shame this show is legally forbidden from ever airing again.
"Just Men" with Betty White was canceled the same day as "Hit Man" and then "Dream House" with Bob Eubanks and "The New Battlestars" aired on NBC the following Monday. By the way, Hondo20132, do you have any episodes of Dream House?

@wvoutlaw2009 "Join us for Press Your Luck in a few months instead." Couldn't resist adding that one in, lol.

Loved the darkening of the set and Peter walking off the set. The last bit they played of the theme song was what was played in the opening.

It would be in Fall 1983 that Peter Tomarken and Rod Roddy would be seen/heard again but on CBS for Press Your Luck.

I wonder April Fool's Day, which this show's airing was on, had anything to do with Rod's fake plug?

@tvtimetravel Possibly... but I know it had more to do with the shows cancellation.

Boy, Peter and Rod were Pressing their Luck by letting this show die, trust me. ;-)
