Agreed re: gear nazis, and I've ridden my scooter lidless around before. But its just that these guys probably just care about motorcycles as a posing tool which is sad. I bet they've never heard of Kevin Schwantz or even Vale Rossi, and whats even more sad is that they probably don't even care.

@StigRossi I'm one of "these guys" I wear gear, and I know who schwantz and rossi are.. your perception of what is cool over here is way off.. you have to remember our country is like 100 times the size of Ireland. There are a lot of riders over here.. you are only seeing a percentage of them. Your comments are like me saying " everyone in ireland eats potatoes, and learn to make bombs at age 3?" Kinda stupid sounding.. but go ahead tell us how it is over here.. we're all ears.

Actually dude I'm Canadian, and have been to the USA on my bike >20x, and I now live in Ireland where the comparison b/w Irish and American bikers couldn't be starker. Admittedly I'm not American but you have to admit i'm not totaly talkin about my ass

U gotta wonder what the deal is w/ fookin Yanks stunt riding w/o helmets. I can understand not wearing jackets for the slow stuff, but helmets??? One could easily fall off the bike and crack one's head on the pavement. I'm sure that 90% of the time youd use your hands to break one's fall but it seems like a small price to pay to protect oneself.

Of course, my cries will fall on deaf ears becos the #1 thing US stunters care about is posing and they think no lid = tre cool.

No stunter in any other country has ever done a stunt w/out a helmet and no stunter in any other country does what they do to look cool... your logic is sound. @MOTORonin In many states, it is LEGAL to ride w.o a lid, and hence yes it is a reasonable statement that a larger percentage of US stunters will ride lidless than say, French ones. Of course, there are vids where say British stunters are not wearing jackets, but those are few and far between. In contrast, i've nEVER seen an American vid where stnnas are wearing full leathers like Brit stunters.

Look, i dont care what ppl wear, but i feel Yanks do it to look cool, which is idiotic and juvenile
