Guys, if anyone's wondering why Desmond's face looks so dramatically different, it's most likely because Ubisoft has always used Desmond's face for that of his ancestors. They used his face as Altair and Ezio's althroughout the series, but now that Ezio looks entirely different, they had to change Desmond's face as well.

I just wish Ubisoft would make seperate faces for Altair, Desmond, and Ezio. But I'll live; you kind of get used to Desmond's face eventually, anyways.

They did tweak his face model a bit until the final release, didn't they? I mean, the response to these videos was an uproar of the fanbase, the developers can't have missed that. And I could still recognize good ol' Desmond when playing Revelations.

Also, Ezio and Altair aren't relatec but both of their bloodlines run to Desmond. He's supposed to be the convergence of heaps of significant bloodlines, thats why he's unique.

Now I understand, when Ubisoft said Altair and Ezio are not related it could probably mean that Ezio is from another side of Desmond's bloodline and Altair from another one. It means that probably Desmond has a great grandpa from Altair's bloodline and a great grandma from Ezio's bloodline forming Desmond's bloodline.

They got screwed up with the bloodline thing and it doesn't know which he is more related to. 16 even explains that he needs to complete their memories and once he finds the memories, he will get is real face back. I don't buy that the face is a result of the animus combining the three. Not possible seen as at the end of the game *spoiler* when he wakes up *spoiler* he looks the same (ie no longer in the animus). It is purely a result of using different tech to do the rendering and being able to create a face with much more detail and realism. Although I have to say, didn't like the way he looks completely different.

The reason Desmond looks different is because they are using a new program for ACR then they used for the last 3 games. They even had to get the guy they use for Desmond back to re do him.
