  • Love this song. It reminds me that I can call on God. In the Old Testament it was forbidden to say the name YHWH because it is so so so Holy (with a capitol H). But with the covering of Jesus we can now call Him Father, father, and dad, and daddy. When we say His name now, He smiles and sees His children. When we say YHWH we say His name because we love Him.

  • im gonna see them in concert im so excited! even tho its in the nosebleed section

  • Reading these comments are odd to me. A) Judge not. B) You shouldn't do anything out of guilt, but rather you should praise God/Hashem because the beauty and the glory of the Oneness of existence is so overwhelming that the soul/spirit/Ruach inside of you shudders at the thought of it.

  • @MorganBatChava Don't know if you read this, but you should know that the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY isn't overwhelming to you anymore. If you believe in His Son Jesus Christ, He the LORD GOD, the one named here in this song, will be your Father. The Glory of the Everlasting will be yours and will not overwhelm you. With the Jesus, you will be held with ever loving loving arms and He will never let you go because YHWH will be your father forever.

  • O MY!!! I so have a new favorite band!!!! Praise God!!!

  • seus paalha

  • amazing song : )

  • Man this guy reminds me of what my son will be like singing praises to God ..hers only 7 now but is full of talent

  • So, I'm just sort of getting around to investigating needtobreathe, and I like what I've heard so far, but I just suddenly caught one lyric that I find odd - the "so high above me" lyric. It's odd to me b/c it largely misses the point of what YHWH is/means - specifically, speaking to His eternality and OMNIPRESENCE... i.e., He's not simply "above" us any more than He is around us and among us... hmmm... but I'll just go back to the playlist now:D

  • @yobhsiFehT They obviously don't mean that literally silly willy!

  • @matthewdog3

Well, no, but a lot of bad theology has been based on that sort of spacial concept of God, and I think I've just become a little hypersensitive to it:/ Also, as a songwriter, I've become hypersensitive to the rhyme of "love" w/ "above" b/c I kinda' swore to myself a long time ago to try never to use it:P:D

I really do like these guys, tho, don't get me wrong:)

  • @yobhsiFehT But that line is scriptural: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD.As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways above your ways

and my thoughts above your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9. I agree with you that He is omnipresent, but it is still not wrong to say "high above me." There are so many ways to describe God, and one is not better than the other....just consider how many titles He has.

  • @carolineodessa

No, right, I'm just saying, if you're talking about the title of YHWH *in particular*, the discussion should center around omnipresence. All I'm sayin'...

  • I can't wait to get to Heaven! I'm sure in addition to many other perks, like being with Jesus forever, we'll have these guys playing. Who's with me?

  • Comment removed

  • Can't wait to see them live Wednesday!

  • exelente exaltar el nombre de yasuha es lo maximo

  • WOOHOO love it! Great guys! Video is just awesome! I can't turn this song up loud enough! Brings tears to my eyes, I feel His presence. YHWH bless you! I learned people were performing miracles in the name of Jesus Christ with all glory to God and I realized God said to us through apostle Paul, " 1Cor. 9:22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some." Sacred Name is for study, not to separate us from people.

  • 3 people... nah this is gettin old

  • You remind me of kings of leon... its pretty awesome.

  • @MrKylerCrank i just thought the same the other day ! :)

  • i absolutely love this band. even my 10 month old daughter claps to them.

  • The bottom line to those aspiring to be Christ like. Follow him with all your passions fixing your eyes on Him alone. We get so judgmental to discredit another’s faith or strength of a walk. To make ourselves appear better in God's eyes. Didn't Jesus have something to say about those that thought they were the greatest. It's what he has done not what we do (we can't earn our salvation). Let's love people without being the judge-quit measuring others Godliness or lack of. God the only judge

  • Red Letter Hymnal

  • i'm a christian working out my salvation and before i saw the WOW gospel hits 2009 i didn't kno of need to breathe and now i love this song and i sing yahweh...U are holy...none can compare to you Lord...no 1.

  • Yahweh Yahweh! Great is your glory! Oh we sing, Holy Holy! Your ways are above me so high above me! HalleluYAH!

  • 3 idiots dont like this song. This song is the living proof of the works of god

  • This is such an amazing praise song! I love it!

  • Awesome song! Can't wait till they come to Atlanta!

  • @jenlaine77 It would B unthinkable tht among Paul’s many converts there were not of the “shorn class." What was 2 B done bout their inability 2 conform w the REQUIREMENT of having long hair? Were they 2 B excluded until such time as nature would remedy their lack? It wld hve been monstrous 2 exclude any believer fro privileges of church fellowship. Did father receive prodigal just as he was, save the external trappings of sonship?

  • @jenlaine77 Read 1Cor 11 - the WHOLE passage, not just the one you''ve misinterpreted. There's evidently something undesirable and even disreputable associated with SHORN hair, not long hair. What it was we can no longer say with certainty.7 Shorn hair among the Jews was a sign of mourning. (Job. 1:20; Jer. 7:29

  • @jenlaine77 You're misguided legalism is exactly what turns most people off about what you consider "Christianity." It's easy to spout out-of-context scripture, but consider the whole message, shall we? 1Cor11:16But if any man seem to B contentious, we have NO SUCH CUSTOM, neither the churches of God.17Now in this that I declare unto you I praise u not, that ye come together not 4 the better, but for the worse. *Paul was condeming the exact nature of what you're epousing

  • @jenlaine77 You're empty legalism is exactly what turns most people off about what you consider "Christianity." It's easy to spout out-of-context scripture, but consider the whole message, shall we? 1Cor11:16But if any man seem to B contentious, we have NO SUCH CUSTOM, neither the churches of God.17Now in this that I declare unto you I praise u not, that ye come together not 4 the better, but for the worse. *Paul was condeming the exact nature of what you're espousing

  • Sounds just like a lot of good secular bands. Great stuff. I can't tell the difference between them and the world at all. Why should I change?

  • @mojava619 You should not become a Christian because of what one Christian alone says or does, let alone a band or singer. But you should become a Christian because of the emptiness and sin that only God knows about--and only God can forgive through the loving sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. Yeah, I would say I like this band because of the beautiful music they play and encouraging lyrics that the songs contain. But it is all nothing if we do not love others and take care of those in need.

  • Really?

  • HAHA people its hair we are all loved by Christ no matter what the length of our hair is. Forget the hair and just embrace the music and the meaning in the words.

  • God just ROCKS--as does NeedtoBreathe

    :)

  • I love the new direction they've taken over the years, they are just so inspiring. God bless them

  • slightly disappointed

  • Not feelin it

  • amazing song...Yahweh...luv u. Ty NTB

  • I've heard the original version of this song by Needtobreathe on the radio, and I'm wondering where it is. All the videos here are acoustic and all that. Does anyone know where it might be?

  • NEED TO BREATHE IS AN AWESOME BAND! THEY SPEAK WHAT I FEEL. THEY ARE WONDERFUL! KEEP IT UP NEED TO BREATHE!!! LUV YA ALL!!

  • BEAUTIFUL SONG, i really enjoy listenining to need to brreath

  • I love these guys. Great lyrics and vocals . I saw these guys last year in Del Mar , CA @ Spirit West Coast Festival. They are one of my favorite bands. They are awesome Live.

  • spectacular!

  • so the chorus kinda sounds like tal bachman's "she's so high, high above me she's so lovely"

  • i love this song help me getting my faith back i doubted for a long time i'm realizing my mistake and i'm coming back to my Father !!!

  • @laneangeln08 Good for you! I'm POSITIVE the Lord is ecstatic to have His Child back! God bless you!

  • @laneangeln08 Reading this is empowering! I been there b4

  • @laneangeln08 Praise God!!!!!!!!!!!!! I pray you are remaining close to Jesus~~~~ He will get you thru everything!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song

  • just goes to show that worship songs dont need to be boring...praising God comes in many forms, and needtobreathe will captivate not only christians with this song, but anyone who loves music. i love God, i love this song, and...well yeah. haha

  • I love it when I hear you singing out the Name of Yahweh!! It is exciting to know that so many are hearing you Praise God and God has allowed you to experience your fame for His GLORY!!! You guys are awesome...love your wide variety of style and the vocals are perfect for an old chick like me who rocked out in the 80's! Keep Praising God and I will keep listening!!

  • Love this song. Especially when they use Yahweh. There is definitely something extra annointed about it.

  • I love all their music but this is by far the best...I love when HIS true name is used and you do not hear it much if at all in music

  • Long hair or not...God honor people who worship Him in spirit and in truth, outward appearance doesn't matter..the Lord sees the heart..

  • BEAUTIFUL song. I've always believed in God but this song makes me believe even MORE in God, and that's almost impossible. God bless :)

  • Praise Yahshua for this song and this awesome group..I love their music but REALLY LUV THIS SONG

    Shalom

  • this song is awesome. whenever i hear needtobreathe i can't help but stop what i'm doing and just worship.

  • this is a nice song i like it.

  • r u kidding...u people are debating over the length of Christ's hair? This is what turns folks off to Christianity - just "breath in" the music.

  • I love this song, very annointed music, Praise God and His holy name.

  • :D love the band and the meaning behind the name is awesome too

  • Hey Kev, i don' believe a word you're saying. i'm colombian and definitely catholic and our church is full of long hair, torn jeans and christian rock. I'm praying your comment isn't a product of racism or years of resentment against the catholic church. love this song by the way, peace and blessings

  • ok let me tell you people who have this concept of hair.... is God more concerned with a persons hair or heart? cuz i went through will this on a mission trip to mexico and they wouldnt let him in the catholic church cause he had long hair.... so if someone has long hair you ganna tell them they cant worship God? next thing you hear is we should only be playing harps for worship cuz theres no guitars or drums in the bible....

  • Just worship and have fun while praising your Creator and loving Father! :D

  • needtobreathe.needtobreathe.needtobreathe.iloveneedtobreathe.

  • some of their songs are great most are great some are okay

  • Long hair is NOT the issue for sure.I have to show nothing but support for this effort to bring his NAME to the public eye.How is it that we ever pick up scripture ;read ;then do not directly honor his NAME.When we read from his own words about how important his name is to HIM;are we then arogant enough to say it doesn't matter. When I hear this I can only bow my head in shame of our kind.Just cry and pray in repentance. The issue IS his NAME and our unwillingness to embrace it .

  • Heard this song for the first time in church this morning. I only sang the chorus a couple times, and with much reverence. But I could truly feel God's glory! HalleluYah!

  • Comment removed

  • well, I know that people on a nazarite vow didn't cut their hair for a period of time, so that coulda been the case. But either way, nobody really knows for sure cause nobody was there. At least I wasn't lol. If you were...well then I'm stuck hah. but. I think it's a safe bet to say that nobody really knows, and that it's not really an important or foundational issue to our faith lol.

  • yahweh... a word for God that was considered so sacred that it couldnt be spoken... an interesting couple of things when text was copied by the scribes they would wipe their quill three times everytime they wrote that word for God... also its been said that many would throw the quill away when they Wrote the word... thats how Holy the God whom we serve is... interesting to see the reverence that the early scribes had for the name God or at least when Yahweh was used... Great Song though!!!

  • no jesus did not have long hair read corinthains rite.he said man should not there is such custom in the church

  • why are people debating over the length of Christ's hair? It's a silly thing to spend your time on when his message was so much more life changing

  • @xxyarboaxx I'm a 50 year old Christian man, and my hair is 3Xs longer than His. When I am critized for having such long hair - well, it is a chance to witness for Jesus!.

  • @DarrenKN -

Bro...if you were to say that to the Apostle...he would admonish you and tell you...there is a better way.

Hair is not a witness > the HOLY SPIRIT IS!

    Blessings,

    L.

  • @xxyarboaxx

For a man to have long hair is a shame unto god. Guess this is why there has been such debate over something that may seem trivial yet it is not. Sin is sin. Sin is shame = read the BIBLE 1Cor. 11:14

Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

  • @jenlaine77 I must add that this song is one of my favorites but I am rather turned off by the outward appearance :(

  • Comment removed

  • @ xxyarboaxx - to add...spiritual growth in these guys is needed...and when that happens, the hair comes off...it always does. Great song...I am 57, still, as a woman, wear my hair very long, and I love this song...it's very joyful and simple and beautiful...what more does one need to praise the Lord with?...

    Blessings,

    Layna - LaynaLand Yahoo site.

    Vancouver, Canada.

  • @ xxyarboaxx - I came out of that culture in the late sixties & there was alot of debate back then, as there is, still today, about the length of a Christian man's hair. I think it safe to go by Scripture; not look for our own easy path; 4 women, long hair is their glory, it's their covering, but, for men, the Nazarite look is appropriate, according to Scripture...we should do what honors the Lord, in all situations, should we not? And, we are told not to be a stumbling block to others. L.

  • @Layna8 Your comments may be the most ridiculous Christian statement I have heard to date...God does not care about the length of one's hair but rather what is in one's heart...and for your comment below, who are you to say how much they have grown spiritually....i guess the amount of growth must obviously be inversely proportional to the length of their hair

  • @cujobauer17 So, then, ur telling not just me, but, most Bible believing, obeying Christians, that what I said in my post is ridiculous! This shows u have alot of maturing to do. I have been where u are, but, now have grown to see we must put off the ways of the world & put on Christ; Obey Scripture: does it not say, if a man have LONG HAIR, it is a SHAME unto him?' I didn't write that verse, an Apostle did!

I wish he was here & I could watch the Apostle rebuke you for saying that to him.

    L.

  • You Guys Rock ! ! !

Keep Up the Great Work for Christ

  • Absolutely love this song =)

  • great song love it'

  • im not a cristian but i believe in god...needtobreath gave me my answer i was looking for PRAISE GOD

  • @desmondandfriends do you know what it takes to be a christian??? just wondering....

  • Comment removed

  • @desmondandfriends @desmondandfriends have you been reborn through confessing your sins to god and asking him into your heart and to be the ruler of your life? Do you believe Jesus, was God who came as a man and died , and was resurrected , and that when he ascended back to heaven we were left with the Holy spirit to abide in each of us who believe? John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

  • @pmdonoh share Romans 6:23

  • @desmondandfriends Hopefully you are grafted into His family now :)

  • @desmondandfriends the thing is that God is worthy of worship because of Christ. This world is imperfect. and Christ is God's redemption. Christ is our way to God. :)

  • @desmondandfriends That's great! But you should definitely look into becomming a Christian. Trust me you will not regret it. Send me a message if you have any questions :)

  • @desmondandfriends Just wanted to say (even though I am very late) I hope that all the Church-ianity "Christians" havent turned you away from the Truth!! Im glad you are praising God, but God Yahweh sent Yeshua (Jesus) His Son so we may be saved!! Find the Way, the Truth, and the LIfe, not the false Christ being taught by most churches today... I pray God will soften your heart and open your ears to hear and eyes to see!! Yeshua is Lord Most HIgh !! May He bless you

  • @desmondandfriends If you PRAISE GOD why are you not a Christian?

  • @messianicreformer I don't want to be an ass, but you're being ignorant...

  • @Hen79es I'm confused. I Thought he was saying praise God but wasn't a christian as he seemed to talk about "christians" is a bad light. And yes I was being ignorant, cause I don't get it.

  • @desmondandfriends how does that work? If you do not know the Son you can not know the father and only one man through out history had enough authority to back up his claim to divinity and that is Jesus. If you do not believe in Christ I don't know what god you believe in. Either you are for Jesus or you are not and if you are not you will not know the Father. I'm sorry if that seems rough. God Bless You!!

  • dis song is so epic! i luv how at da end bear flips his hair!^-^

i wish my hair was awesome & perfect! xD

  • maybe u should read 1corinthains chapter 11 verse 14

  • And maybe you should read verse 16. I'm also thinking Jesus had long hair.

  • Maybe you should stop being such a pharisee. lol jk but seriously read verse 13. Its up to us to judge for ourselves. I say God's grace is so much more than what type of hairstyle someone has. Lets not get all religious on people and scare them away now. 6 months ago i ran away from God because of all these rules, until i found out what his real purpose was.
