  • I thought the 90s was a great decade for pop music up until the era when the boy bands started to rule the world sometime around 1997-98, I wasn't big on the Grunge Invasion scene of the 90s though

  • great song, back in the day I thought this song was a lot better and more likable than "Stay" yet this song wasn't nearly as successful or got as much airplay as "Stay" did.

  • WE hurt the ones we love the most! Brilliant little song!!

  • since i've saw \siobhan for the 1st time, i'm in love with her. Dunno why, just dream that i will meet her at some point in my life :)

  • ALways loved the Sisters! It floored me when I found out Siobhan Fahey was from Ramabanana. Wish they could have relased more music.....

  • Someone told me they were similar to switchblade symphony... They don't know what they're talking about.

  • @Blamepandora85 I love both of them really.Switchblade Symphony and this band. But no they aren't that similar other than the fact they both have a sort of dark glamor.

  • BRAVE!!

    Ciao

  • They both look to clever than what you think

  • nice!

  • Thanks for posting!!!!! Love it!!!

  • very cool girls!

  • These girls were great.

  • 90's, after that it all went down.

  • Hit as ant Hotentot!

  • oh yes i found it? i love this song!!

  • I don't care, I just don't care!

  • I am 13,so I never heard of this group before. My dad(42) recommended it to me,and now that i saw it,i LOVE it!It's such a great song...I just wish there were more groups like this one.You rock,Shakespear sisters!

  • Hmmm...I forgot that the single version was slightly different. The album version is better.

  • Cool bass line.

  • Come back musical ability - all is forgiven

  • This is different from the version I have been listening to all these years

  • one irish genius + one american genius = shakespears sister

  • @georgejacktheripper She's not 'irish'. She lived there for less than two years, in other words before she could speak. She has no trace of an irish accent. She also lived in Germany and Scotland, does that make her German / Scots? Accent tells you what culture someone 'is'. She has an english accent, having grown up in england and spent most of her life there.

  • The girls rap in 1992

  • 2:28 ahaha, such trololo face

  • What a great combination these 2 gals were.

  • They have the worst hair?! Have you looked at Lady Gaga?NOW THAT'S THE WORST HAIR EVER

  • @MusidoraKeller, indeed.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!! BTW: Thanks for posting the Candy Apple Blue Graveyard song excellent compliment to the girls! Great songs!

  • @julesmarsellus THANK YOU! Shakespears Sister are a GREAT INSPIRATION to us! We are just a little band getting things started. Thanks for your kind words on our debut single "Graveyard".

  • If they do a cover of this on X Factor, just kill me... So much energy, fun and 90's cool in this !

  • LOL i forgot this song ever existed.. woah the 90's... worst hair ever

  • We hurt the ones we love the most! Ain't that the truth!

  • If anyones wondering about this weedfestizio idiots little tantrum is he got offended because I don't like that shitty boring country sounding hootie and the blowfish he loves so much.

  • I'm totally in love with Miss Fahey. She's as gorgeous and classy as Siouxsie and not many people can pull that off.

  • @W33dFestizio well, blow your effing self up, why don' t you?

  • @SuperLapsap Um, just for the record......I will not be held responsible for his upblowing

  • @SuperLapsap lol your commenting your own self..all you seem suspicious its all dudes in here except for you two bitches

  • @W33dFestizio Que?

  • @OrchidOxycodone your calling me gay and your talking about how sexy some ugly man looking bitch is..your prolly hoping shes a tranny so she can fuck your throat see thats what you sound like a little annoying bitch go play in traffic

  • @OrchidOxycodone and to be honest you can say whatever you want to say i dont care it doesnt bother me i like women and i know that who care what you think your a dumbass who doesnt know a damn thing about anything your a fucking retard and your talking shit to me nice one way to make your life feel less of a shit stain

  • @OrchidOxycodone@Superlapsap on some real shit though i like you thats why i didnt want to be the one you commint suicide to haha bitches

  • playing this for Shady too... i loooove singing this song (i love the whole "hormonally yours" album... i've vocally beaten it like the trail it gave my voice when i was younger).... i grew heavily into British pop/rock... Beattles, EJ, George M, jimmie S, Sinead, Lennox and this group & Bjork sits atop them all for me personally regarding musical geniusness

... then Eminem came along -... LOVE U SHADESPEARE !! XOXOXO

  • I always preferred the evil sister

  • they need to get back together. seriously. patch it up and show these wannabies what real music is.

  • Love them.Songs From The Red Room album is fantastic!

  • there both mad as a box of frogs!! top stuff

  • Glittering Goth Sexiness, i think i just had a "crisis"!

  • Aaah, 2 georgeous woman....

  • I dont really think she is "bi" but it wouldnt surprise me...as for Marcy...that wouldnt shock me either...and I wouldnt care if they were both "bi" I like them both...tho I like them together alot more...(for their music)...

just a little note if ur not already aware of it...Shuv's new song "PULSATRON" is titled after a "vibrator" product produced by ANN SUMMERS in the UK...Shuv kinda brought that up during an interview on "LOOSE LADIES" kinda the UK version of THE VIEW.

  • This video is so well made! LOVE it!!!!

  • Classical !! :-)

  • Is it wrong of me to compare Robots in Disguise to Shakespear's Sister? I really like them both and just can't help drawing comparisons.

  • is marcella detroit the one with the shorter hair? if so im sorry but i in my opinion shes hotter the siobhan fahey

    and her voice captivates me!

  • @thetempest202 Marcella is the one with the shorter hair...and most certianly...Marcella's voice is tops..Siobhan, the other lady has personality and energy to burn....but not so great is the voice...but...the 2 together are Brilliant Sorcery...

  • i learnt in my studies that all women are homosexual

  • @rocksoliddude1

i like what your studying! i always want to be the "third wheel" if its too chicks doing "it" LMFAO

  • @thetempest202 Yes, you and every other straight guy on the planet! But you can put your fantasies away boys...these girls are not gay.

  • @JanBee1122

yes i should, before my fiancee finds out :-D

  • @JanBee1122 Really... as a atypical gay man, I don't get that, what a stereotypical fantasy (yawn)... Like all men would like to know what is would be like with another man, but won't admit it. I wonder if they'd get defensive over that.... : )

  • @HatManAtLarge ??? I'm not sure I follow your meaning. I was replying (in fun) to the two straight guys who were overtly fantasizing about getting between these two women while they are "going at it". I said the women in this video are not gay (are they?) so his fantasy is only that, a fantasy, and a common one for many straight men. I'm sure you are right that lots of men do fantasize about other men too, and yes, I bet most would never admit it.. Women, same thing. Do we agree? :-)

  • @JanBee1122 We agree... It's more socially acceptable, in many ways, for 2 woman to show affection, and unfortunately, gets construed as sexual, and same w/ 2 men, but not as accepted. Are they gay? They look quite happy in the video to me... : )

  • @JanBee1122 u are right..the Siobhan and Marcy are not "gay" ... Marcy is still married and has at least one grown child...Siobhan is divorced from Dave Stewart of the Euyithmics and has 2 grown sons... now whether Siobhan is BI... that may be a possiblity...but nothing out there on the web aout it...

  • @acerr40 That's interesting...what makes you think she's bi if there is nothing on the web? And, from the same perspective, could that not also be said then of Marcy? Just curious. They both seem to gender-bend a lot, which I find very cool because you don't often see that from women it seems.

  • Brilliant video of a great, inventive band. Siobhan carries on well but this will not be forgotten.

  • I love watching this video. I absolutely love their theatrics in the video, and Siobhan's rap is the best!

  • I Just ADORE S.S.!!! Please come back 2 spell my mind!!!!!!!!

  • I just ADORE S.S.!!! Please come back to spell my mind!!!! S.S. ROCKS!!!!!!

  • holy sh1t, i'm in love with Siobhan ^^

  • The 90's were BRILLIANT from start to finish

I went from 24-34 so maybe it was my age, but I honestly can't think of anything negative about that decade. The music, fashion, ecconomically and socially

  • It's only a great song. But mainly tha songs of them are great .. really, I like it <3

  • beatiful reemeber!!

  • This video totally exemplifies why Sophie Muller is THE BEST director out there. Excellent.

  • 1:41 beautifull smile ;oP

  • Funny:D

  • wow! havent seen this in years!!! THANKS FOR POSTING!!^^

  • This might be a stupid question but were they really sisters or was that just a name ?.

  • its just a name ;)

actually Siobhan F. is "Shakepears Sister"

  • its from a Morrissey track. which itself is a reference to an academic study on whether Shakespeare existed/actually wrote the plays

  • @chevgr

oh really i didnt know that! cool! gives it some meaning to a great track and band!

  • Comment removed

  • @tonymontana1974

nah miss fahey was from bananarama and marcy was from another planet...cool as fuck but not related!

  • ¡Excelente!

  • I cant help but listen to this everyday!! I love SS!!!

  • Tour bus driver grooving to this song across the Greek countryside, summer '93. Those were the days....

  • these days are gone its time for us to accept that :-(

  • Noooooooooooo! :'(

  • Awesome!

  • Great Song,Great Sisters !

  • very theatrical, tuneful, and humourous. seeing this makes one aware of how much pop culture has taken a turn for the worse in the last 15 years or so. siobhan and marcy are Ab Fab!!!

  • 0:44 sounds like something from John Boorman's "Excalibur" speeded up

  • this is art from start to finish

we need more woman like this in todays music world

    loveeeeeeeee

  • check out bat for lashes quite good and florence and the machine the album howl is awesome.....

  • The one chick from Bannaramma who could sing ... and of course the magnificent Marci Detroit

  • One of my all-time favorites

  • i so like this song, i just think its a cool song.

  • i always sing it when things are going wrong:) i don't care, i just don't care now:D

  • They sound so much like The Pretenders in this one!

  • Love how women looked and carried themselves in the early 90's, compared to how tatty/trashy so many look today. And people wonder why men are gaying out in massive numbers?

  • @gravelandgrain100 - do people actually wonder that? To the extent I was ever attracted to women, it was more the butch and tomboyish, so makeup, clothing, etc. were largely irrelevant. And by the early 90s I was reasonably sure I was only attracted to men. (I know you were kidding, but still... :) )

  • Their vids are always hilarious!

  • great voices and song ,video.

  • Great song!

  • this is my favourite song by them

    =)

  • 1:59 / 5:08 It sounds like she says "maten smakar" ( Swedish for "the food tastes"

  • They were fantastic and this is one of my favourite videos ever. Siobhan is completely wonderful (and hillarious) in videos, she overplays to a Norma Desmond level. One of the top items in my "favourite things that unfortunately are unlikely to ever exist" is a cover of Nick Cave's "The Curse of Millhaven" done by her. It would be something jaw dropping.

  • this song rocks, well, not rocks, more glides, but yeah, thanks to the god of random album buying for introing me to this song. Stay was good too, woo!

  • fabulous, more of this NOW pleasw

  • Love this! Female, edgy, funky, tuneful, intelligent...and a bit naughty. Hard to do in 92 be even harder in 2009. Love the Gaga though. Come on gals! Sod the tissues and issues! Kick ass!

  • I had my first lesbian crush on Siobhan at the age of 10 (showing my age there!!). And I remember that my mum bought me the 'Hormonally Yours' album on cassette in early '92, and there was a fundamentally different version of this song on there. Same lyrics but instrumentally it sounded different.

  • It's funny, I thought that the videos for this album and a lot of Annie Lennox ones looked similar in their over the top stage-style flair—including similar make up. Of course now I realize it's because they were all done by Sophie Muller.

Notice that there's always a sinister feel to one character in a lot of Sophie Muller videos?

  • Thanks so much for this great song and video. Possibly the best recording made by 2 women who are great musicians in their own right. Duffy sucks !!

  • Been looking for this song for a long, long time... thank you!!

  • siobhan is awesome! Her facial gestures crack me up she"s always ben my fav even when she was with bannanarama!

  • LOVE THIS SONG!

  • I like this because it sounds so much like the Pretenders a reminisce of "Don't Get Me Wrong" a bit, you know.

  • You are right! And "I Can Drive" (post-Marcella Levy) sounds a lot like "All the Young Dudes" ...in my humble opinion.

  • Siobahn is so hot!!! and athletic... I had such a crush on her...LOL

  • Lol me too!

  • I much preferred Siobahn Fahey like this than when she was in Bananarama! Rather yummy I thought!

  • superaśne :)))

  • this clip is creepy

  • lang ist her , einfach nur genial......

  • For some reason , this song and video reminds me of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". It's hard to tell who's the wild one of the duo.

  • both marcella's and siohban's vocals blend so well together - they complement each other - shame they didnt stay together longer.

  • They HATED each other. They were only supposed to be a one off band with one album. The first album did so well they recorded the second one. But they really arent acting in this video!!

  • well...if you look at the end of the video , it's clear that they were the worst enemies! :)

it's so sad that they don't do another album as a duo in 94 or 95 ... i've read on wikipedia about the end of the band...but if somebody has more news about that ...i' m interested

  • There's a new CD coming out as Shakespear's Sister at the end of the month, only Siobhan though.

  • great song :)

if anyone is interested, i have a playlist on my profile all about siobhan fahey, with my fave bananarama and shakespears sister vids. check it out :) Happy new year.

  • I Absolutely LOVE Shakep
