@SuperSneakySniper I am not a member of the militia but my advice extends to all aspects of life: always ask what the militia needs and what you can do for them. From what I understand, they need people with backgrounds in medicine (EMT especially), firefighting, emergency management, law enforcement, communications, or engineering. Learn some skills first--perhaps from summer jobs, internships, community college, etc. Then join with something to offer and you'll be a more useful member.

@M249SAWzALL, I don't think that's even all of his gear, for it does not appear that he is wearing any plates. And I don't know of one serious group that doesn't include level IIIa soft armor and IV rifle plates as part of their gear.
Does your group wear their armor while training? We always wear our soft armor with both ceramic plates inserted while we shoot, march, jog, etc.

Texas, Alabama, and Virginia all activated State Defense forces (as well as National Guard units) during Katrina. State Defense forces are Militias under command of a state Governor.
Actually we are not a militia, I am a commissioned officer in my state guard. My commission is the same commission as a national guard soldier activated for State active duty. The same person commissioned us. Last time I checked militia's do not get orders from their state or government. They do not have state or federal backing. Also I get active duty pay from the state when activated, militia's don't.
Understood, however in some states the State Guard and National Guard are totally separate entities. In these states Militias have autonomy but still answer to the state.See below from the WV Constitution: Section 15-5-19
The unorganized militia shall, at the call of the governor, be available for duty with the emergency service forces of this state. For purposes of this article, the unorganized militia shall consist of all able-bodied men and women between the ages of 16 & 50.

Will the militia mobilize if an insurgency should interrupt the growing, harvesting, processing, storage, or distribution of the food supply? Will the militia guard the infrastructure or block roads at damaged or destroyed bridges?
Are you coordinated with the county sheriff or local mayor to render aid in the community as SAR, CERT, REACT or RACES?

@borderraven A Militia's PRIMARY function is to support their local community. CERT and SAR are viable roles for local Militia. As for supporting local LEOs, that would entirely depend on the scenario and if those Organizations were lawful or operating in an oppressive manner. Nuff said.

Regarding the Sheriff and local LEO's, I have the conundrum that you do as well where it would depend entirely on the scenario and the individuals within the organization. However, if you are not already aware, I would love to respectfully turn you onto Sheriff Mack and all those in favor of the republic that get behind the office of the COUNTY SHERIFF. I believe the Sheriff should be our main line of defense and the militias should work closely with their county Sheriff.

Instead of millions of patriot militia members what will be much more effctive will be one million anti-NWO snipers. They will only need to take out two or three of the opposing forces each. Fighting out in the open will be suicide aginst superior technology. Only the sniper rifle can shift the balance. AR-16's will be USELESS against superior forces.
If you are going to use AR-16's you might as well slit your own wrists just before battle commences.

@M249SAWzALL, I don't think that's even all of his gear, for it does not appear that he is wearing any plates. And I don't know of one serious group that doesn't include level IIIa soft armor and IV rifle plates as part of their gear.
Does your group wear their armor while training? We always wear our soft armor with both ceramic plates inserted while we shoot, march, jog, etc.

The accoutrements accomplish a few objectives: 1) It grabs and retains viewer attention; 2) It offers a sense of comradery with other units and the military; 3) It displays the level of professionalism that is sorely lacking in militia videos throughout YouTube. Texas, Alabama, and Virginia all activated State Defense forces (as well as National Guard units) during Katrina. State Defense forces are Militias under command of a state Governor.

Actually we are not a militia, I am a commissioned officer in my state guard. My commission is the same commission as a national guard soldier activated for State active duty. The same person commissioned us. Last time I checked militia's do not get orders from their state or government. They do not have state or federal backing. Also I get active duty pay from the state when activated, militia's don't.

Understood, however in some states the State Guard and National Guard are totally separate entities. In these states Militias have autonomy but still answer to the state.See below from the WV Constitution: Section 15-5-19
The unorganized militia shall, at the call of the governor, be available for duty with the emergency service forces of this state. For purposes of this article, the unorganized militia shall consist of all able-bodied men and women between the ages of 16 & 50.

The Militia is a defensive body, Terrorists tend to engage in offensive actions for political or religious reasons. They also target helpless civilians. The Constitutional Militias of the US don't target civilians. Do some research and get educated. BTW Canada has some Militia units also, underground of course.
