kein=no, mehrheit=people/masses, fur= for, die=the, mitleid= pity/mercy. the german grammeris a tad diffrent than english even though to us amreicans it would say no people for the pity but to a german it would read as no mercy for the masses. hope this helps put an end to this prattle.

So no, to a German it would read as no people for the pity. But because it doesnt make any sense, people think KMFDM is a short for Kein Mitleid für die Mehrheit, which would be no mercy for the masses. But that's not what KMFDM is a short for :)

Back when I used to be pretty hardcore into KMFDM, I read that it was "Kein mitleid fur die minderheit" No pity for the minority. There are at least a couple song where this phrase is used, including one off of the Symbols album.

This also makes sense as the groups original vibe and message was one of the pre-berlin wall destruction seperation and segregation in germany. Sort of a "Do it yourself" message which makes sense.

There have been various female singers through out the many incarnations of KMFDM, Abby Travis, Karen Black, even Lydia Lunch did a song but this particular singer is Lucia Canferelli(more than likely mispelled). She teamed up with Sascha Konietzko and Tim Skold for "MDFMK" which was sort of a continuation of KMFDM after En Esch left.
