One of the funny things you realize later on about the Combine is that the "post-human soldiers" (a.k.a. the Combine Overwatch) are implied to be a source of troops for the Combine in their ongoing conquests (note that Breen threatens them with "permanent off-world assignment"). So, the next alien species that gets invaded will see the Overwatch and be all like, "Eww, what the hell are THOSE things? Four limbs?! Freaky." Just like the reaction humans have to Striders and Hunters and such.

I don't know what this could be, possibly a kind of animation with npc control in order to make the film look more realistic. see how they run from the strider? they never do that on the game gmod. i'm not sure, but if you ask around you might get an answer.
