I've got a technical question that I've been thinking about...what would happen if I strung my baritone with high g tenor strings (GCEA). Would I still get GCEA but with more resonance or bigger sound?

Does this question seem odd? I am a novice but can't get enough of the ukulele since I bought a soprano on the Big Island.

Much appreciate your help.

i've never tried this but i don't see how it'd make it a bigger sound. if anything, it might put undue stress on the neck so i'd stick with the proper strings to be safe. thanks for enjoying the vids!

They do make strings for a baritone uke to be tuned to a GCEA, however, it doesn't really make for a bigger sound. If you're used to the way your baritone sounds it'll sound thinner and kind of defeat the purpose of having a baritone uke.

However, I did this on a cheap johnson baritone uke and I did like the sound. I believe Aquila makes the strings...but it's been awhile since I strung this uke, so I might not be remember this correctly.
