Terry Lester passed away and I was shocked when i heard about it . I was also chocked to learn he was Gay, but who cares, he was a great talent and will always be the best Jack Abbott..

Terry Lester was the ultimate Jack Abbott....but Peter Bergman has carried the torch very well in the last 20 years. He has been able to take over a role that no one else probably could have pulled off as successful due to the bandwagon Lester had at the time. Y&R tried to replace Eileen Davidson on several occasions, only to find out no one can play the role like she can. Congrats to her longevity on the show.

I think Brenda Epperson (I think that's her name) the actress who played Ashely in the late 80's up until the mid 90's did a very good job to the point I forgot that Eileen Davidson had originated the role.

Melinda Fee must've temporarily stood in as Jill, I remember reading that. The reason I know Fee just stood in was because Dickson was already back by 1983 for the deliciously great storyline(the vamping of Jill) Dickson must've been on temporary leave, Next to Andrea Evans, Dickson was my favorite soap diva of the 80's. Soaps knew how to make great divas back then.

Despite all the negative gossip, Eileen Davidson was NEVER a man. She had been pretty young when she started playing Ashley so I don't think it's possible she was ever a man. She was also on a horror film before Y@R. Despite all that, she is a great and beautiful actress and I love it when she's good and when she's bitchy. You gotta hand it to her.
