I agree, on the cd she sounds ok, I even like some songs, but when I watch this live vids the only I can think is "Will someone please shoot her?!" Of course not literally, and I have nothing personal against her, but thats the best way I can explain how I feel when I hear her singing live.

I recorded over 18 videos at this concert and just got lazy trying to label them all- Sonata Arctica had opened for Nightwish, so if you wish to see them, you'll have to route through this series. :( Sorry I'm so lazy!

Wat people forget is that Tarja is not nightwish just like anette there just there to sing. why would they change the name of nightwish if tuomas is the one that makes the music well most of it. If tuomas left nightwish thats when people should say that nightwish is different or that nightwish changed.

...Tarja was not Nightwish, just like Anette isn't either...All the people in the group makes the band...But the band HAS changed, compare Nightwish' latest album with the earlier ones...The music is totally different...But your right in the sense that it shouldn't be necessary for them to change the name of the band...

HAHAHA im with you. I've been a Sonata Arctica fan ever since they released their first album but... UNIA... and now Last amazing Grays... those two albums got like 2 good songs each but their older albums ALL of their songs were not just good, they were amazing. And nightwish's dark passion play.. this is probably the only song i actually enjoy from that album.. and its because of the instruments.

If they had never played in the USA before it could have been a relatively risk less way to play for a new market. Otherwise probably just because at very least the band "leaders" are friends and thought it would be fun.

this is from the american tour, they are not any more well known here than nightwish, that's why they were opening for them. Most of the euro/symphonic metal bands end up as opening acts in the US.
