you guys are all nuts, toejam & earl, the first one, was the best one. with the best sound track and the best game mechanics. james brown himself would be proud of the game.
I'm surprised about all these people who claim the second was just decent or even shit. The first one hasn't dated very well, at all. At least the second one is a good platformer and has great 2D sprites. Then again, I always preferred it, even back in the day.
even though 360s out i still like playn on normal xbox and ps2 and ps1 and gameboy and nintendo 64 and ds and dsi and gamecube and gameboy advance all those old ones especially SEGA
Easy guys - this is not a bad game at all. I got loads of pleasure from it and eventually completed it. It's not perfect, but it is (cliche) a worthy addition to the series!
When you say, "I'll admit in the 3rd one I liked the fact they brought the presents back," you don't mean that to say that there weren't presents in the second game, right? Because I had the first and second games, and presents were definitely in abundance in the second. You couldn't collect them and use their contents later or anything, but there were still presents everywhere. I don't recall seeing Santa in that game though, which is strange considering the amount of presents strewn about.
they had presents in the second one, but I don't recall ever being able to open them..
I just recall them giving points and, having to look for some stupid albums.. the concept of the presents in the third game, were closer to that of the first game.
It has been over a decade since I played the classics.
@Fade2Dark In the 2nd game, you received the contents of a present the second you touched it, be it points, an extra life, or a set of super jars. Funk moves, panic buttons and funk vacuums were the only items that could be saved for later, but you always knew what they were right away. There was certainly no present selection screen. In most ways, the first two games are barely alike except in overall tone. I felt the 2nd game was less frustrating, but also more generic.
this shit is just hip-hop, g-funk to be exact. people who say this is racist are probably oversensitive, white and corny left wing extremists who are oversensitive about everything.
Not really, it's okay at best. At least Sega tried to bring Toe Jam & Earl into 3D...unfortunately, it always was one of those series that could never play as well in 3D. I think you're better off just sticking to the classic series for the Genesis/Mega Drive
Well, thing is, a lot of the reviews against it said it was racist, and I had to ask about how Toejam and Earl 3 could have been considered racist when the FIRST two games didn't get that word applied to them. I mean, they ARE the same characters, and we loved them back then... why not now?
it wasnt rascist they are hiphop aliens wtf anything dealing with black culture is racist nowadays. unless black people make it. why isnt soul plane considered racist... i mean have you seen that movie?
The funk was cool in parts 1 + 2, but just plain stupid in part 3. I can see how people would get offended, but whatever. I'm one of the few that actually liked 2 over 1.
Hey I liked 2 over 1 also! I wrote the creators of the series an email a few years ago. They wrote me back saying there were surprised because most fans prefer 1.
Well that's the good thing about old games, is how bad they are. It's weird, can't explain it. But it's why people keep buying cheap old consoles and console games. The basicness was what was cool about them. Sometimes an extremely basic game back in the 80s and early 90s can out perform an updated game today.
lol third leg is another defintion for vigina XD...i think O.o

@czerwony45 : the statement you made makes NO sense... If you play SEGA so much, you would have known of this game at some point.......... :?

The second was a load of shit.

Blah. Bottom line... games like these should stay 16-bit. The speeches here were just unfuncky and... just not the Toejam & Earl we grew up with.
