I don't think the scans are necessary although I would not refuse one if picked. My only concern is the radition and how often a person might get exposed when travelling often. My parents and brother fly 20 days + per month.
The big deal is that most people in the US are uptight about sexuality. I'd venture to say that most people in the US wold find going to a public, nude sauna completely insane... but here it's a daily part of life. I just think it is a very prudish attitude towards sex and nudity.
@grumpychuck Things here are as calm as always. I might make a video about things once the war games end and I can touch on all aspects of life here in Korea, since we deal with the 'threat' all too often.
I work with X-ray equipment on a regular basis for my job. As a result, I have had multiple training classes by experts on radiologic safety, etc. It is true that flying in an aluminum can at altitude subjects you to far more rads than you get from the scanners. Every hour you spend in a plain at altitude subjects you to radiation.
I'm not sure why people want to nail you to the cross. You haven't said anything controversial to me. Well happy holidays anyway.
I would think people who stare at those scans all day would not be excited in the least viewing the people's images, much like a doctor or nurse no longer views a naked body with any interest other than a diagnostic one. Personally I would rather be scanned than go through the more intrusive and time consuming pat down. I do think however security-wise they need to use trained dogs to sniff out explosives. Much more effective IMO. c'mon Grumpy, pick a topic I can kvetch about!
i travel often too. i rly enjoy flying in a comfy plane and enjoy the all walks of life ppl you meet at the terminal bar. What sucks is security. and delays...
i dont have the biggest issues with being scanned, ive done it a couple of times. never asked to see theimage tho, didnt know you could. I wouldnt want ppl blowing my plane up neither. FUCK THAT lol
however, its a great new example of securitron us of a.
australia and europe seem to have more lax policies. great places.
@mrwobbleheaddeluxe...I view the scan as a new technology. I don't think this new scanner is some sort of secret government plan to see me naked or to take my 4th amendment rights away. I also don't think 9/11 was done by the US government and I don't think crop circles are a form of alien communication, ha-ha!
Thanks for commenting...I'm still expecting to get crucified for this video, though.
@grumpychuck dont get me wrong, im not some huge conspiracy theorist. that shit will drive you mad because there is no proof in any of it for the most part.
The people with the scanners are like doctors... They have seen thousands! What makes yours or mine so special that it's a big deal? LOL
