@andrewthao17 Joseph never had sex with Mary, When Joseph , Mary and Jesus returned from Egypt, years after Herod died, they had no other children, Other references to their family, even at the Cross, shows that Mary had no other children, so that Jesus gave Mary to the Disciple John to care for. So, no reference is made that Mary had other children , Joseph being a Pious Jew would not likely touch Mary after the miraculous birth of Jesus, and the story shows he did not.
@imromancatholic our thoughts are nothing without Gods word (bible) i do admit one thing yes you catholics had the bible but didnt live by it until many catholics that became born agian christians and were the victims of the inquision. your own followers of the catholic faith! who just read the bible! before king james or wiclif
imromancatholic first off the first christians were jews that were taught judaism and they were all reading the torah and pslams & proverbs & you get the piont ( old testiment) back then Mary yes was the chosen vessal to God and what a honor that was but she knew she needed a savoir (jesus christ) to redeem humanity with his blood on the cross for those who believe.
all the first century christians were sola scripura and died for that cuase to be christian even the romans who were christians in the first century didnt put tradition over holy scripures?
@AnahiemerOC - We don't put them OVER scripture. They are in concert with scripture. No the early Christians weren't sola scripturists. Paul said "hold fast to the traditions you have recieved, whether by word of mouth or in writing from us". That is not scripture alone. Note also that scripture itself is a tradition. Haven't had a prot admit that yet but it's as plain as the nose on your face.
"No the early Christians weren't sola scripturists"
Well of course they weren't, no Christian scripture existenced when Paul was preaching. Neither did they practise sola ecclesia. The catholic church didn't exist in any kind of structured form until long after the apostles had died.
@TheSmithDorian - You just don't like that you cant' find the word Catholic in scripture. The teachings were clearly there. John 6, Matt 16, etc. etc. Nope the Church was Catholic and is today. But at least you can see through the lie of sola scirptura.
My problem with the RCC is over their position that they are the only ones that can interpret scripture and that they think they have divine authority to issue decrees telling others how it should be read. Your citations prove my point;
John 6 - If you think the adoption of silly pagan rituals with bread and wine has any relevance whatsoever to anything important, then you're dreaming.
Matt 16 - There's so many holes in this passage it's hard to know where to begin.
@TheSmithDorian - Anyone can determine scripture. The question is, are their interpretations correct? But for protestants like you correct isn't a concern. It's self interpretation that is important. Yes, I know for those whom turned and walked to no longer with the Lord, it would seem John 6 is pagan for you. Matt 16 is in error?
@imromancatholic "Paul said "hold fast to the traditions you have recieved,.." How can Paul, writing in the early/mid 50's AD be talking about 'traditions' when the Christian movement was barely 20 years old?
If you read the Darby Translation;
".. hold fast the instructions which ye have been taught, whether by word or by our letter"
it's clear that this isn't a general statement re scripture or tradition but one specific to the Thessalonians.and it has nothing to do with 'tradition'.
@AnahiemerOC - Your vision is colored by the fact that everyone has 5 bibles in their homes today. The Bible was not readily available until after the printing press. So did everyone in those early days carry around a pocket apostle until they died? There is no way those people could have been sola scripturists. They depended FAR MORE on oral tradition that written tradition. They didn't have Bibles. Paul never handed out copies of the New Testament!
imromacatholic read the gosple of john and hopefully your eyes will open to the truth even your douary-rhiems bible says the opposet to your traditions...
i know about luthers courage agianst the catholic church in its time it was god who moved this man to know the truth to split or start a new chapter to save humanity from satans grip of his counterfiet christianity. not all protantstants agree each other and not alot know about marthin luther thanks to the ex jesuit alberto revia who exposed catholicism lol..
@imromancatholic the father, the son (jesus christ), and the holy spirit are one and jesus is the way to the father. yeshua died from the cross for me and you for our sins be forgiven. it dont matter if your catholic or protantstant if you wont except jesus as your lord and savoir and be baptized by the biblical way of baptizing and the holy spirit dewell in you to be the children of god mary knew this! and there is alot of fake protantstan churches as well..
This was filmed a long time ago but protestant rudenes is ever present. The pator or whatever he is starts his discussion be calling Catholic belief 'a perversion'
orthodox or catholic similar tradition cult. yes theres many legalistic christian churches as well is too traditional and contary to what is bibical. imromancatholic keep on reading the scripures.
Search the internet for a video by Mary Baxter describing her visit to heaven as she describes seeing the mother Mary. Mary the mother is distraught over how the catholics are worshipping her instead of Christ, and tells Ms Baxter to tell them to stop.
Stop drinking the kool-aid of the catholic church and read and understand the Bible yourself. God wrote it for YOU and He will hold you accountable for it's teachings.
catholics claim they dont worship mary and thier actions speaks for itslef. pray to jesus honor him not mary shes a chosen vessel to gods plan for the messiah(christ)to save humanity from hell
@AnahiemerOC - We can't honor anyone but Jesus? Doesn't God himself say honor your father and mother? Jesus would have obeyed that command and honored his mother. The Bible does not limit honor to Christ. I can show you many passages that prove this.
@AnahiemerOC - Mary should have no honor? Jesus honored her. He says "honor your father and mother". Saying that Mary had a role in salvation history does not take away at all from what Christ did. It is not either Jesus or Mary. The Bible does not just limit us to honoring God. Martin Luther gets plenty of honor in protestant churches.
No he didn't. Read the gospels - he hardly talks to her and when he does he doesn't give her as much respect as a son would be expected to give his mother let alone the co-redemptrix, queen of heaven etc etc.
And you catholics reckon you've been given the divine right to interpret scripture? That's brilliant ... very funny.
jesuits were form by loya in the middle ages. but their agenda dont line up bibilcaly. catholic is not christian no matter what they claim. read your bible if nuns,popes,monks,eurichrist,mass,wafer,purgertory is in the bible? no...turn to christ and repent catholics becuase your days are numbered and you might know when your life ends.
@AnahiemerOC - Funny. You should read a book called "The Lambs Supper" by a man named Scott Hahn. While he was still a protestant he discovered the Mass was directly parallel to the book or revelations. It is quite in fact in the Bible.
I didn't think Protestantism could be unified in one voice to only have one guy debating for its side on this issue. Different sects believe different things.
THANK YOU LORD JESUS, MY GOD, FOR GIVING YOUR LIFE FOR ME ON THAT CROSS. ALSO FOR GIVING ME THE SIMPLE UNDERSTANDING THAT YOU, BEING GOD ALMIGHTY, MANIFESTED YOURSELF IN THE FLESH AND ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SAVE US. YOU ARE THE HOLY ONE AND I WILL WORSHIP YOU ALONE. YOUR HOLY SPIRIT DWELLS WITHIN ME AND GUIDES ME THROUGH THIS DECEIVING WORLD. I WILL TRUST AND BELEIVE WITH ALL MY HEART, MIND, AND SOUL... AMEN!!!
@aerohdz1 - That pretty much says it all. Until catholics figure this out, they probably don't have a saving relationship with Jesus. So, they better remember John 14:6 or their final destination is an eternity in a lousy place, just like Jesus warned, whether they took a bath in the church when they were a month old or not.
The "early" Church had no position on Mary at all. Marian dogma was only developed centuries after she died when the Catholic Church started feeling the need to fabricate its own positions on matters for which there was no biblical support, which they laughingly referred to as "Tradition" (tongue in cheek no doubt)
If a person went so far to end up hating Jesus,but loving Mary, then it may amount to serious confusion. But if a Priori is the sincere love for Jesus, and if one who loves Jesus all they can, but then they love everyone as much as they can also, through different works or relationships, yet there is no measuring stick of love by degrees to say Christians end up in a Hierarchy of worship that brings criticism, it would not be Christian, but a respecting of persons. Loving Mary is not a vice
@CarmineFragione That's right, I'm so very confused, even budha make more sense after reading so many branches of so called Believers of God, I was never taught to worship any idol or statue not even human that I can remember and know off.
Jesus taught a Love, or a Giving which equals worship of God, which is a behavior not always directed to God, but can be directed to a stranger or even an enemy. There is no hierarchy of levels of worship or love or giving, for the Church, it's Saints, or the Holy Family. Jesus loves us as much as Jesus loves the Father, and so Jesus does not divine the sense of worship required of simple people, so that if one loves Jesus and one loves their mother , there ought not to incur a guilt ?
@mbaren58 John the Baptist was the son of Zechariah and Elizabeth (Luke 1:5-25). Jesus was Mary's son, conceived through the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:26-38). Mary was Elizabeth's cousin (Luke 1:36). So the relation between Jesus and John the Baptist was that of second cousins.
Yet, John doesn't recognize Jesus and neither indicate that they are related. Why?
You've got John preaching about a coming messiah and wondering who it will be. Searching his mind going through all the virgin births in the area around the time that he was born, trying to pin it down - but in vain. When Jesus rolls up John must have been kicking himself. "Of course! Virgin birth, angels etc. Damn - couldn't see the wood for the trees" Anyway cous, how's the carpentry business?"
@soterioss8787 Im sorry to say you Brother that your philosophy is nonsense because Saint Paul warn us in
Colossians 2:8
Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
I hope you can understand this and may God Bless You
@psalm1992 A philosophy according to the tradition of men. Because many Catholic Doctrines is not according to the Bible, they according their faith in the tradition. For example, if you die have least sin, your soul going to purgatory that absent in the Bible. Why the baby to baptize. Because they afraid that their baby going to Limbo that absent in the Bible, Our Salvation is in the Bible not in the tradition.
I hope you can understand this and I will pray you
Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising.
@allstarkese, everything about Catholicism is not found in the word of God. They are all 'feelings' or 'assumptions' or what St Thomas said or the pope's feelings! Then they are taught not to use the Bible but use Catechism to have eternal life.
Matt. 1 says that Joseph only honored her 'virture' or 'virginity' until AFTER the Lord Jesus was born. She wasn't a perpetual virgin. 1 or 2 Tim. says that the Lord Jesus is the ONLY mediator between man and God. Matt. even says that the Lord's brothers, sisters, and mother came to look for Him. James was His brother, Apostle Paul says so in one of his Epistles. We respect Mary, but the Bible NEVER says anything about praying to her. I know. I've read ALL of it.
Do you deny the fact that Matthew 1 says that Joseph honored her virginity until after the Lord Jesus was born? Do you deny the fact that the Scriptures says that his mother and sisters and brothers, which the Lord Himself said to the crowd during that time, came to look for Him? Do you deny that the Apostle Paul says, "James, the BROTHER of our Lord?" The Lord Jesus had half-brothers and sisters, through Mary and Joseph. They weren't full because God was His Father and not Joseph.

UNIVERSAL SALVATION was for me a HERESY, people pleasing idea UNTIL I saw passages like this.
Romans 5;19 "for as through the disobedience of the one man,THE MANY were constituted sinners: so also through the obedience of the one, shall THE MANY be constituted righteous."
Do you believe it? Hell is NOT the final plan of God. EVERYONE WILL BE SAVED THROUGH JESUS, YES EVERYONE
Mothers never give virtue giving birth Mary cannot be the mother of God giving virtue or attribute to Christ .She was the conduit of flesh born not Virtue The Bible uses the word over shadowed meaning Mary's womb was only the enclave of the formation of Christ body His flesh and blood made exclusively by the Holy Spirit. No egg or sperm was used of humanity to make Christ human. Christ was a man like any man but not like any other man in everyway, no contradiction.He had a sinless body distinct
@potsocket1 --It may be hinted at in Revelations, but the dogma is mostly in our unwritten tradition, and St Paul says to hold on to tradition- written or non.
@TheExorcist445 where is it hinted in revelation?where does that tradition come from? its false. where does paul say that? and im sure hes talking about stuff that is truth.
@edgarsanchez1904 --The "brothers" of Jesus were actually sons of other men, and no-one is refered to as "son of Joseph" except Jesus. Jesus was an only child from St Mary.
@TheExorcist445 Wrong. Perhaps in your heretical "bible", but in the Textus Receptus (KJV), Jesus is NEVER referred to as the son of Joseph; it NEVER calls him His father. He had to be born of a virgin in order to bypass the stain of Adam, so He was NOT the son of Joseph. He is the Son of God in a way you and I (and Mary) are not, except by faith, and that properly directed, i.e., in Him alone.
@cheagan --Luke 4 22 "Is this not Josephs son?" I know Joseph was not the actual father of Jesus, but my intent was to point out that the supposed "brothers" of Jesus are not called the same i.e. "son of Joseph".
@TheExorcist445 Forgive me for missing your point. But we can't assume that Mary re-married simply due to the absence of any reference to His brothers and sisters being Joseph's. That's a non-sequiter. The quote you refer to is a question asked by onlookers, and not a statement of fact. The Pharisees called Him illegitimate (Luke 8:41)... so much for the testimony of onlookers. I was talking about the Nearly Inspired Version's account of Luke 2:33. The Gospel writers would NOT have said that.
@AllStarKase Where in the Bible does it say 'Bible alone' or 'Scripture alone' or even imply that? Nowhere. How do we know to trust the Church? Because it was established by Christ and given the Authority to teach and administer the Christian Faith, and Christ promised evil would never prevail over it. Matthew 16:18.
Those dogmas are too big to discuss on youtube, however if you did a search on a Catholic database, I'm sure you would find out.
What did Christ say about leading children to sin?
Now take a look at the scandal the Church has been immersed in for decades and ask me again why I should trust the Church. And the Church is the community of Christ, wherever 2 or more are gathered in his name. The Vicar of Rome has no more legitimate claim to Christ's kingdom than you or I.
@AllStarKase At the time of the Church abuse scandals the abuse rate was at %1.7 of Catholics and %10 among protestants. All other religions, beside Judaism, have it higher then that. The Catholic Church has the lowest abuse scandal percentage in the world so you tell me why I should trust any other religion? These stats come from an article written by a Jewish businessman in Cleveland named Sam Miller. You should read it sometime but then again it refutes all that you have said.
@mbaren58 The question is why is the Church teaching CONTRARY to what is in the Scriptures?
The deification of Mary and the dogma surrounding her contradict our Christian dependence on Jesus Christ. The Church made her a mediator between God and man when that role belongs to Christ, alone. The Church made her a mediator between Christ and man, when no such mediation is necessary. Christ told us to come to him, OURSELVES. He never told us to check in with the secretary.
@mbaren58 The princes and laity of the Church simply fell in love with Mary and began applying titles to her that are blasphemous to God and Christ. Titles like "Mirror of justice,Seat of wisdom, Gate of Heaven, Morning star, Refuge of sinners, Queen of angels, patriarchs, and prophets" managed to shift Christ to the periphery and make Mary the intermediary between man and Christ when the latter has NEVER demanded such. It's nonsense and sensible Catholics should see through this.
@mbaren58 Please stop. Again, you implied that someone other than/in addition to Christ gets credit for our salvation. That's blasphemy. I haven't blasphemed in regards to Mary. You and the Church have, with the titles and crowns you've given her that belong to Christ, alone. Her first child was of the Holy Ghost, but that doesn't exclude Mary from building a family with the man she entered into holy matrimony with. In her culture, it was actually law.
@mbaren58 These are your words: " MARY! MARY! If you want the "Apple of our salvation" you must go to the tree! NONE of us would EVER have "received Him" had it not been for Mary's obedient faith!"
Herein lies your blasphemy. Mary had nothing to do with our salvation. Our salvation was wholly dependent upon CHRIST'S sacrifice on the cross. He could have been raised from stone, but I wouldn't say the stone is what made our salvation possible. Keep your spoon and its honeyed poison.
@mbaren58 What do you know of Scripture? You have admitted that someone other than Christ is responsible for our salvation. You have made Mary a Co-Redeemer of mankind, and that is blasphemy. The Catholic Church has much to answer for if this is what its members are spouting in 2011. However, at some point, you should be an adult and begin to think for yourself and question some of the Marian fairytales you've been spoonfed.
@mbaren58 The point is that Joseph didn't have sex with Mary before she gave birth to establish the uniqueness of Christ's conception compared to the children of Mary that followed. As devout Jews, they would have followed Mosaic law in regards to growing a large family.
@mbaren58 Stop blaspheming, already. Mary had nothing to do with our salvation. It was completely upon Christ's shoulders to take upon himself the sins of the world on the cross. Mary wouldn't have encouraged such a strategy for her child. She stayed by his side and supported him, but the mission was his alone, and no titles or crowns are to be placed on the head of any other besides Christ. Let those who would believe this believe.
@mbaren58 Salvation came to us through Christ's sacrifice on the cross. Mary had nothing to do with it.
God could have raised Christ up from stone and he'd still walk to the Cross.
And no, Mary had no choice. Gabriel didn't ask her to be the mother of Christ. He told her what was going to happen and she believed. See her relative Zachariah. He was also told what would happen and he rejected the notion. He was struck dumb until God's will came to pass.
@mbaren58 Again, Mary had no choice in God's plan. She could have been any God-fearing woman that He chose, and his will would have been carried out. She could have been a Hannah, who Mary's Magnificat was borrowed in the first book of Samuel in the Old Testatment.
It's clear you're fond of blasphemy, though, given your position that our salvation came through Mary. I don't recall any Passion plays involving her being crucified to a tree.
You clearly have no understanding of Christ, given your devotion of Mary. Anyone who demands his followers to forsake bloodties to follow him, must do the same. Christ's new community would not be bound by bloodlines or family legacies, as you see in Islam. Yes, his brother was a leader of the Church among the Jews, but he also supported Paul (against Peter) in reaching out to Gentiles as Christ dictated.
If it hadn't been Mary, it would have been Susan or Ruth. It doesn't matter. Mary wasn't going to be a road bump in God's plan. It's not as if Mary had a choice. She was tapped and her duty was to obey. For a man who told his followers to leave mother and father and wife and husband and family to follow him, he was consistent in his actions as, at every mention, he downplayed the importance of blood ties compared to those who chose his path.
@mbaren58 You're wrong. Christ made it clear that his Earthly blood ties are not that important. He said his brothers and sisters and mother are those who hear God's word and put it into practice. He said this at every opportunity when his family was addressed. In Luke 11:27-28, a woman praises Christ's mother. His response: "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it." Jesus is consistent in playing down his blood ties, expanding his family to those who accept him.
@mbaren58 What you gave me was irrelevant. You stated one verse from the Gospel of Mark where Jesus was called the son of Mary. Well, in the Gospel of Luke he's called the son of Joseph. I provided the Gospel of Matthew that stated that Joseph had no sexual relations with Mary until after she gave birth to Jesus. These brothers and sisters of Jesus are mentioned in all 4 gospels and and again in Acts. Paul refers to James as "the brother of the Lord" and translation is FILIAL in meaning.
@mbaren58 Also, I love how you proclaim I'm not a Catholic because I don't buy into the Catholic dogma of MARY! MARY!! I just professed CHRIST as the center and foundation of the faith, and you deny me as a Catholic over fanfic about MARY!! Haaaaa! Now you see why Protestants think so little of us. You're a clear case of the dog walking the master.
I have great honor and respect for Mary. But at the end of the day, she was a normal peasant Jew living under the occupation of Rome. Her oldest child founded a new religion within Judaism and became the most famous man in the world. It was old men (a thousand years later) who fell in love with her and elevated her to godhood, and they got the unwashed masses of their faith to follow along. Somehow, I don't think God's lowly handmaid approves.
Yes, I am a Catholic, though not a lemming. I actually have more claim to the throne of Peter than the last two Popes, who turned the other way while bishops and priests got away with molesting the most innocent members of the faith and then making them look like greedy villains. Christ had no kind words for their ilk, wishing their type to the bottom of the sea.
In light of such scandal, no Pope can ever tell me how to live my faith.
Sometimes, I do wonder why I remain a member of an institution that sacrificed the innocence of thousands of young children and covered it up. I am ashamed of the institution, as I imagine Christ would be.
But the foundation of the faith is Christ, himself, not his mother or her purported perpetual virginity or any of the silly titles old men have cast upon her. Christ told us not to focus on who his mother is, but to hear the word of God and obey.
1. I have no bubble to burst. I was born and baptized a Catholic. I don't have to believe every tradition of the Church to be a Catholic, given that I'm a free-thinking human, and not a sheep.
2. It is the conception of Christ that is the miracle. That's the point of the Incarnation. His birth was as normal as any other child's birth.
3. Jesus and John the Baptist are cousins, as their mothers are cousins.
@mbaren58 The very notion that a young couple remained celibate all their lives is just insulting and flies in the face of their marital duties as described in the law of Moses as it pertains to Jews. Joseph and Mary were devout Jews. The Bible says that Jesus had brothers and sisters (note that John the Baptist-a cousin- was never called a brother of Jesus). If my fellow Catholics want to continue living the Marian fairytales, then by all means do so. But 90% of the stories are made up.
@mbaren58 I'm Catholic. I know what I'm talking about. The conception of Christ was the miracle, not his birth. He was born the same way any child is born. Sorry to burst your bubble, but Catholic doctrines (particularly those pertaining to Mary) are often just traditions, with no real basis in Scripture or fact. It's a hard pill for Catholics to swallow, but it is what it is. Mary had other children with her husband; she was not sinless, nor was she assumed and crowned queen of heaven.
@mbaren58 Thanks for your prayers, but I think you need to consider that certain doctrines of the Church (perpetual virginity, Assumption, Queen of Heaven, Immaculate Conception) are just traditions, and have no basis in actual Scripture. You can't be considered a virgin once you've had a baby. That's just pure anatomy. And Joseph deserves a lot more in his life than eternal blue balls, considering he put his life and reputation on the line for a woman who ended up pregnant before they married.
@mbaren58 Sorry, but there's no blasphemy in accepting that Mary had children with her HUSBAND. It actually makes sense that, given the high mortality rate of the time, that Joseph and Mary would have more than only one child. We only call Mary "ever-virgin" because we adopted the pagan beliefs that Rome transplanted into the Christian religion; supplanting their many gods and virgin-goddesses with saints. You have have ZERO evidence that Mary remained a virgin all her life. Scripture says no.
The words that I give you are spirit and are life John 6 Meaning Christ never intended His words to be literal changing of bread and wine into blood.. All the blood of man is based on death Mary died because her blood like all men's blood has the DNA of death. Death passed upon all men because all have sinned. Mary was born from sinners with the blood of death. Christ was not born of Mary's egg or any man's sperm the Holy Spirit was sole Creator of Christ body and blood distinct for sacrifice.
#5 sorry- Jesus says,"behold you mother," to John, so that she'll be taken cared of by john, because He loves John and ALSO He's completed His mission His Father gave Him.
@Lion777tpo I'm already saved and baptized.Eating the bread is not an example of Jesus Body or the cup represents his blood. It is really his BODY and BLOOD.The HOLY EUCHARIST.The source and summit of a christian life.Jesus said,"This is my body and This is my blood".I have in me the real Jesus Christ that's why I can feel his presence everytime I receive him in the Holy Eucharist. Heaven on earth.We are commanded by Jesus to do this.Our holy Mother said,"Do whatever he tells you". HAIL MARY.
@cramirez11 You should've told me you were a christian, I accidently put those were example I was meant to put the bread and blood shows jesus death on the cross we are healed and also by his blood we are saved Jesus is salvation. There are some jews who still believe in the law and some that believe in Jesus(not saying all) I know what your getting at, and yes eating the bread and drinking the blood is to remember what Jesus did for us at Calvary. Sorry for making that email a mistake.^_^
@Lion777tpo Amen. As a Catholic the church teaches the real presence of Jesus Christ .The bread and the wine after it's consecrated becomes the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. I go to mass every week and receive Jesus during communion at mass. You know what they say "you are what you eat ". Maybe someday we will all be united as brothers and sisters. One church,one bread and one body of our Lord Jesus Christ. "Remember us, Lord, till we come into your Kingdom". God Bless.
Mathew 1:25 makes it crystal clear that Joseph did not have sex with Mary until after Jesus was born.
This is pointed out to emphasize the uniqueness of Christ's conception. After his birth, Mary and Joseph resume their marital relationship and produce more offspring, most of whom are noted in the gospels. Paul referred to James (a superstar of the early Church) as the "brother of the Lord" in the FILIAL sense. He was Christ's actual younger brother; a son of Mary and Joseph.
To all my brothers and sisters in Christ.I'm not here to win arguments but souls.If honestly in your heart you want Jesus in the Bread of Life. Then pray to God the father to give you the grace to know Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.Jesus said,"He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life and I will raise him up on the last day".He is there waiting for us.Jesus said."I am with you always even until the end of the world". Holy name of Jesus,save us. Immaculate heart of Mary,pray for us.
"If you believe in that same I AM(who Jesus claims to be) you will die in your sins",saying if you don't believe Jesus and God, you die in your sins. Says it in the book of john.
@Lion777tpo Believe in your heart is not good enough in order to be save.Even satan believe in Jesus.Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us a warning."Unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood you have no life within you".Eat Christ then in the Holy Eucharist.Body,blood,soul and divinity.Where you can touch Jesus.Pray that God the father will give you the knowledge to know Jesus in the bread of life.Our spiritual mother is praying for us too.This is why Jesus said,Behold your mother
@cramirez11 and also incase you don't know, eating the bread is an example of Jesus body on the cross that he died at calvary. And also, the cup represents the blood of the new covenant, that God saves everyones sins. By eating the bread and drinking the cup means you have proclaimed the Lord's death until He returns, means that you believed that Jesus died an excrucitating death for your sins, AND you believe he will come back to save everyone. GET IT RIGHT CRAMIREZ
Mary is referenced in Genesis, in Revelation, and in a number of other places in scripture. Can't say that about too many other people: /watch?v=5PPGYi74TSE
I`m a 42 year old Catholic but never was I taught that Mary is a Deity nor do I believe that she is seen as such by the Catholic Diocese but I do know that we say "Hail Mary full of Grace" I also never heard this teaching that Mary remained a virgin after Jesus was born.
I have neither called or heard anyone else call Mary "Queen of Heaven" I also have never called Mary or heard her called "Ever Heaven" and this I swear by the Lord Almighty. This whole talk of Mary being classed as a Goddess is news to me.
Yeah, we Catholics tend to call Mary "ever virgin" though it escapes me how a woman who births a baby can still be called a virgin. Also, the Bible says Jesus was Mary's "first born son", indicating that other children soon followed. Matthew says Joseph had no sexual relations with Mary until after she gave birth to Jesus. So all those brothers and sisters mentioned later in the gospels are obviously the children of Joseph and Mary.
"First born son" doesn`t indicate that she had more kids but just that she had no children before Jesus. I`m not being funny but I live in a majority Catholic area and have never heard the term " Ever Virgin" What Catholics say in other areas I have no control over. Unless i`m mistaken there is division amongst Christians as to whether Joseph already had children from a previous marriage.
"First born" can, in fact, indicate that more children followed, otherwise Jesus would have been called Mary's only son. And there's no scriptural basis for Jesus being Mary's only son. Scripture says that once Jesus was born, Joseph and Mary consummated their marriage, and it names the brothers of Jesus (James was a superstar of the early Church) and mentions sisters, too.
As for the title of "Ever Virgin", yeah it is a doctrine of the Church. Catholics may have forgotten.
@WayOfTheMaster454 several reasons. I dont need procedures or rituals to get to Jesus, I just need an open relationship with Jesus. I am free to talk to Jesus about anything and everything. Its the same relationship as parents are to their kids, brother to sister, wife to husband, etc. Another reason, Mary is not God, Jesus IS God. The whole old and new testaments all point to Jesus who is sole reason for saving us from eternal hell. All forms of prayer, worship, adoration, etc., belongs to God.
@WayOfTheMaster454 If you choose to read the Catechism rather than the bible, thats your choice. I choose to read the bible because it contains all the answers to life's question. I found this out when I surrendered to Jesus and He told me the truth. So when I investigated, He was right. All saints, including Mary, were humans and they were used for God's purpose. Jesus pointed this out to me on Acts 14:8-17 and 1Timothy 2:5. I believe and trust Jesus more than anyone else, including myself.
@WayOfTheMaster454 because one book is from God, the other from humans (prone to err and lies). Its one or the other and I'm fully put my trust in the bible where God's words come alive within me and around me.
@pacificrules --Your implication was that I either read the bible OR the catechism, which is absurd to say, for I read both; Also they do not contradict one another, and why should they? The bible is a catholic book, and the catechism helps us understand whats in the bible.
@WayOfTheMaster454 your choice buddy, not mine. However, because you ask, I'll answer. The catechism books and the bible both contract each other tremendously. I've done my research.... Seek and you will find.
@pacificrules --You say they contradict one another only because your understanding of scripture is faulty; the bible only "makes sense" in non-catholic churches if you ignore some verses and twist some verses.
@WayOfTheMaster454 I'll ask you one final question before I end this texted-conversation with you. Do you wish to believe every word Jesus says about who He is, and who He is to you?
@WayOfTheMaster454 Then you can find His words all in the Bible, and not the Catechism books (not words of Jesus). Now it will be your choice to continue and seek Jesus' truth for yourself. My recommendation, dont stop seeking Jesus. He is your living hope in life. Look into the New Testaments. A good place to start is the Book of John. You're on your own now. I leave you with John 3:16-18 and also Romans 10:9-18. Good bye and may Lord Jesus bless you with His wisdom and strength to find Him.
@pacificrules --So why do you assume ive never read the New Testament / St John? Why do you assume I havent "found" him? The Catholic Church ALONE holds the WHOLE truth about Jesus Christ.
I love you and let us pray that there will be more people like us who answer to God's Truth in the fullness and who spread the faith and morals given to us by the Lord our God <3
Jesus said,"Unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood you have no life within you"."I am the living bread that came down from heaven whoever eats this bread will live forever and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh". Jesus also said,"Behold Your Mother". Proud to be Catholic. HAIL MARY.
I love you <3 And I'm proud to be Catholic as well ^-^ I've studied almost all religions and there is no religion that speaks Truth in its fullness other than the CATHOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH :)
@UniQuEclectics Love Jesus in the eucharist. Jesus Christ said,"I am with you always(body,blood,soul and divinity in the eucharist) even untill the end of the world". God Bless :) Hail Mary.
I love you <3 And yes, Hail Mary ^-^ I pray the rosary daily and she has brought me closer to her Son Jesus Christ in a way that is simply unparalleled to any other form of prayer.
Mary truly does bring us, her children, closer to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit :)
@UniQuEclectics Amen. Me too, I always pray the rosary sometimes twice a day. It is a very powerful prayer. When I meditate the mysteries I can feel the presence of God, specially also during communion at mass when Jesus commanded us to eat his body and drink his blood.The bread of life. Our blessed mother was right when she said,"Do whatever he tells you". To follow his son,Our Lord Jesus Christ. Hail Mary.
@UniQuEclectics I will you can count on it and keep me in your prayers too. Keep the faith. Saint Paul said,"I fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith". Here on earth we fight against evil and we rest in heaven. Hail Mary full of grace the lord is with thee blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy wound Jesus. Holy Mary mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen :)
@UniQuEclectics Thank you:) There is another powerful prayer I want to share with you "Lord Jesus Christ son of God,have mercy on me a sinner" say it as often as you can. Do you know when satan is powerless, magic is stopped and all witchcraft is brought to nothing is when we make the sign of the cross. (St Athanasius) "In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" Revelation 7:3 and 14:1 HAIL MARY
"Jesus also said,"Behold Your Mother". Proud to be Catholic. HAIL MARY."
Chatolics take very serius and literal Jesus decalarations at some point, but i wonder why dont they take in the same way, literaly and seriusly other passeges of the bible that clearly give christian a better undestanding of God's will trhoug his Word the bible
@IsaacBG84 The teachings of the Catholic church lasted for thousand of years. The Bible came out of the church not the other way around. The people learned the teachings through the word of mouth(sacred Tradition), sacred scripture and magesterial teaching.Not what I think or some other personal interpretation.
Whatever you heard about the Catholic church the teachings are the same yesterday,today and tomorrow.It survive all the persecutions because it has the fullness of Jesus Christ Teachings.
"The teachings of the Catholic church lasted for thousand of years."
Thats not true, not always the chatoilic church beleived what they beleive now, after more than 20 ecumenical councils the traditions have changed a lot. The only one that remains the same always is Jesus and His words in the Bible, from the blody persecutions to protestant chrsitians to the ecumenical church that we see today the chatolic church has always been adapting to the ages in order to survive..
@IsaacBG84 Pray that God the father will let you have the grace to see Jesus not only in the words of the Bible but also in the bread of life.The Eucharist.The source and summit of a christian life,where you can physically touch Jesus and that my friend is a gift of a loving God. Jesus Christ said,"He who eats my flesh and drink my blood has eternal life and I will raise him up on the last day". Believe. Hail Mary.
@cramirez11 WOW! Nice twisting of scripture. When Jesus said in John "Behold Your Mother" he was addressing John, here is the whole quote.
John 19:26,27 26When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! 27Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
This was said to John so that the mother of Jesus would be taken care of after Jesus death.
@Just2362 This is your own personal and twisted interpretation.These are the words of our Lord Jesus Christ that came from sacred tradition (word of mouth), sacred scripture (Bible) and magesterial teaching (teaching authority of the Catholic church). Jesus said," Those who don't believe will be condemned ". HAIL MARY.
"Behold your mother", was meant for john(the apostle) because He finished the will of His Father(God), sometimes religion is the one thing that educationally of how Heaven is God's kingdom, and Earth is His footstool. Just because you wear a Rosary every time you go to school God sees you good, God sees you by your heart, also the bible says," If you believe in your heart, that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved"," You believe in one God and not God and Jesus, you die in your sin
@BloodOfRayne The Church of Jesus Christ. I'm a guy who picked up a bible and read it on my own time. Contrary to vatican opinion, it's NOT complicated enough where I need a priest to tell me what it means. Me, like all other "reformist churches" are guys who read it, and realize we need nothing but Christ for salvation. No popes, bishops, priests, or other form of control.

@soterioss8787 Did mother Mary married to Joseph and still remain Virgin?
andrewthao17 1 month ago
@andrewthao17 Joseph never had sex with Mary, When Joseph , Mary and Jesus returned from Egypt, years after Herod died, they had no other children, Other references to their family, even at the Cross, shows that Mary had no other children, so that Jesus gave Mary to the Disciple John to care for. So, no reference is made that Mary had other children , Joseph being a Pious Jew would not likely touch Mary after the miraculous birth of Jesus, and the story shows he did not.

AnahiemerOC 1 month ago

TheSmithDorian 3 weeks ago
@TheSmithDorian - You just don't like that you cant' find the word Catholic in scripture. The teachings were clearly there. John 6, Matt 16, etc. etc. Nope the Church was Catholic and is today. But at least you can see through the lie of sola scirptura.
imromancatholic 3 weeks ago
@imromancatholic
My problem with the RCC is over their position that they are the only ones that can interpret scripture and that they think they have divine authority to issue decrees telling others how it should be read. Your citations prove my point;
John 6 - If you think the adoption of silly pagan rituals with bread and wine has any relevance whatsoever to anything important, then you're dreaming.
Matt 16 - There's so many holes in this passage it's hard to know where to begin.
TheSmithDorian 3 weeks ago
@TheSmithDorian - Anyone can determine scripture. The question is, are their interpretations correct? But for protestants like you correct isn't a concern. It's self interpretation that is important. Yes, I know for those whom turned and walked to no longer with the Lord, it would seem John 6 is pagan for you. Matt 16 is in error?

@imromancatholic "Paul said "hold fast to the traditions you have recieved,.." How can Paul, writing in the early/mid 50's AD be talking about 'traditions' when the Christian movement was barely 20 years old?
If you read the Darby Translation;
".. hold fast the instructions which ye have been taught, whether by word or by our letter"
it's clear that this isn't a general statement re scripture or tradition but one specific to the Thessalonians.and it has nothing to do with 'tradition'.
TheSmithDorian 3 weeks ago
@AnahiemerOC - Your vision is colored by the fact that everyone has 5 bibles in their homes today. The Bible was not readily available until after the printing press. So did everyone in those early days carry around a pocket apostle until they died? There is no way those people could have been sola scripturists. They depended FAR MORE on oral tradition that written tradition. They didn't have Bibles. Paul never handed out copies of the New Testament!

AnahiemerOC 2 months ago
@AnahiemerOC - We can't honor anyone but Jesus? Doesn't God himself say honor your father and mother? Jesus would have obeyed that command and honored his mother. The Bible does not limit honor to Christ. I can show you many passages that prove this.
imromancatholic 1 month ago

That's brilliant ... very funny.

CarmineFragione 3 months ago
@CarmineFragione That's right, I'm so very confused, even budha make more sense after reading so many branches of so called Believers of God, I was never taught to worship any idol or statue not even human that I can remember and know off.
andrewthao17 1 month ago
Jesus taught a Love, or a Giving which equals worship of God, which is a behavior not always directed to God, but can be directed to a stranger or even an enemy. There is no hierarchy of levels of worship or love or giving, for the Church, it's Saints, or the Holy Family. Jesus loves us as much as Jesus loves the Father, and so Jesus does not divine the sense of worship required of simple people, so that if one loves Jesus and one loves their mother , there ought not to incur a guilt ?
CarmineFragione 3 months ago
@mbaren58 John the Baptist was the son of Zechariah and Elizabeth (Luke 1:5-25). Jesus was Mary's son, conceived through the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:26-38). Mary was Elizabeth's cousin (Luke 1:36). So the relation between Jesus and John the Baptist was that of second cousins.

You've got John preaching about a coming messiah and wondering who it will be.

@edgarsanchez1904 --The "brothers" of Jesus were actually sons of other men, and no-one is refered to as "son of Joseph" except Jesus. Jesus was an only child from St Mary.
TheExorcist445 7 months ago
@TheExorcist445 Wrong. Perhaps in your heretical "bible", but in the Textus Receptus (KJV), Jesus is NEVER referred to as the son of Joseph; it NEVER calls him His father. He had to be born of a virgin in order to bypass the stain of Adam, so He was NOT the son of Joseph. He is the Son of God in a way you and I (and Mary) are not, except by faith, and that properly directed, i.e., in Him alone.
cheagan 6 months ago
@cheagan --Luke 4 22 "Is this not Josephs son?" I know Joseph was not the actual father of Jesus, but my intent was to point out that the supposed "brothers" of Jesus are not called the same i.e. "son of Joseph".
TheExorcist445 6 months ago
@TheExorcist445 Forgive me for missing your point. But we can't assume that Mary re-married simply due to the absence of any reference to His brothers and sisters being Joseph's. That's a non-sequiter. The quote you refer to is a question asked by onlookers, and not a statement of fact. The Pharisees called Him illegitimate (Luke 8:41)... so much for the testimony of onlookers. I was talking about the Nearly Inspired Version's account of Luke 2:33. The Gospel writers would NOT have said that.

I have a few questions for you:
Do you honestly believe Mary remained a virgin all her life?
Do you believe she was born without original sin?
Do you believe she was resurrected, and taken to heaven body and soul?
Do you believe she was crowned queen of heaven?
Do you believe she is co-Redeemer of mankind?
Do you believe we have to go through her to get to Christ?
If you do, I'd like to know the Scriptural sources for such dogma created by the Church, regarding Mary.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@AllStarKase Where in the Bible does it say 'Bible alone' or 'Scripture alone' or even imply that? Nowhere. How do we know to trust the Church? Because it was established by Christ and given the Authority to teach and administer the Christian Faith, and Christ promised evil would never prevail over it. Matthew 16:18.
Those dogmas are too big to discuss on youtube, however if you did a search on a Catholic database, I'm sure you would find out.

AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 The princes and laity of the Church simply fell in love with Mary and began applying titles to her that are blasphemous to God and Christ. Titles like "Mirror of justice,Seat of wisdom, Gate of Heaven, Morning star, Refuge of sinners, Queen of angels, patriarchs, and prophets" managed to shift Christ to the periphery and make Mary the intermediary between man and Christ when the latter has NEVER demanded such. It's nonsense and sensible Catholics should see through this.
AllStarKase 9 months ago

AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 What do you know of Scripture? You have admitted that someone other than Christ is responsible for our salvation. You have made Mary a Co-Redeemer of mankind, and that is blasphemy. The Catholic Church has much to answer for if this is what its members are spouting in 2011. However, at some point, you should be an adult and begin to think for yourself and question some of the Marian fairytales you've been spoonfed.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 The point is that Joseph didn't have sex with Mary before she gave birth to establish the uniqueness of Christ's conception compared to the children of Mary that followed. As devout Jews, they would have followed Mosaic law in regards to growing a large family.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 Stop blaspheming, already. Mary had nothing to do with our salvation. It was completely upon Christ's shoulders to take upon himself the sins of the world on the cross. Mary wouldn't have encouraged such a strategy for her child. She stayed by his side and supported him, but the mission was his alone, and no titles or crowns are to be placed on the head of any other besides Christ. Let those who would believe this believe.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 Salvation came to us through Christ's sacrifice on the cross. Mary had nothing to do with it.
God could have raised Christ up from stone and he'd still walk to the Cross.
And no, Mary had no choice. Gabriel didn't ask her to be the mother of Christ. He told her what was going to happen and she believed. See her relative Zachariah. He was also told what would happen and he rejected the notion. He was struck dumb until God's will came to pass.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 Again, Mary had no choice in God's plan. She could have been any God-fearing woman that He chose, and his will would have been carried out. She could have been a Hannah, who Mary's Magnificat was borrowed in the first book of Samuel in the Old Testatment.
It's clear you're fond of blasphemy, though, given your position that our salvation came through Mary. I don't recall any Passion plays involving her being crucified to a tree.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 You're wrong. Christ made it clear that his Earthly blood ties are not that important. He said his brothers and sisters and mother are those who hear God's word and put it into practice. He said this at every opportunity when his family was addressed. In Luke 11:27-28, a woman praises Christ's mother. His response: "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it." Jesus is consistent in playing down his blood ties, expanding his family to those who accept him.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 What you gave me was irrelevant. You stated one verse from the Gospel of Mark where Jesus was called the son of Mary. Well, in the Gospel of Luke he's called the son of Joseph. I provided the Gospel of Matthew that stated that Joseph had no sexual relations with Mary until after she gave birth to Jesus. These brothers and sisters of Jesus are mentioned in all 4 gospels and and again in Acts. Paul refers to James as "the brother of the Lord" and translation is FILIAL in meaning.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 Also, I love how you proclaim I'm not a Catholic because I don't buy into the Catholic dogma of MARY! MARY!! I just professed CHRIST as the center and foundation of the faith, and you deny me as a Catholic over fanfic about MARY!! Haaaaa! Now you see why Protestants think so little of us. You're a clear case of the dog walking the master.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 The very notion that a young couple remained celibate all their lives is just insulting and flies in the face of their marital duties as described in the law of Moses as it pertains to Jews. Joseph and Mary were devout Jews. The Bible says that Jesus had brothers and sisters (note that John the Baptist-a cousin- was never called a brother of Jesus). If my fellow Catholics want to continue living the Marian fairytales, then by all means do so. But 90% of the stories are made up.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 I'm Catholic. I know what I'm talking about. The conception of Christ was the miracle, not his birth. He was born the same way any child is born. Sorry to burst your bubble, but Catholic doctrines (particularly those pertaining to Mary) are often just traditions, with no real basis in Scripture or fact. It's a hard pill for Catholics to swallow, but it is what it is. Mary had other children with her husband; she was not sinless, nor was she assumed and crowned queen of heaven.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 Thanks for your prayers, but I think you need to consider that certain doctrines of the Church (perpetual virginity, Assumption, Queen of Heaven, Immaculate Conception) are just traditions, and have no basis in actual Scripture. You can't be considered a virgin once you've had a baby. That's just pure anatomy. And Joseph deserves a lot more in his life than eternal blue balls, considering he put his life and reputation on the line for a woman who ended up pregnant before they married.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
@mbaren58 Sorry, but there's no blasphemy in accepting that Mary had children with her HUSBAND. It actually makes sense that, given the high mortality rate of the time, that Joseph and Mary would have more than only one child. We only call Mary "ever-virgin" because we adopted the pagan beliefs that Rome transplanted into the Christian religion; supplanting their many gods and virgin-goddesses with saints. You have have ZERO evidence that Mary remained a virgin all her life. Scripture says no.
AllStarKase 9 months ago
The words that I give you are spirit and are life John 6 Meaning Christ never intended His words to be literal changing of bread and wine into blood.. All the blood of man is based on death Mary died because her blood like all men's blood has the DNA of death. Death passed upon all men because all have sinned. Mary was born from sinners with the blood of death. Christ was not born of Mary's egg or any man's sperm the Holy Spirit was sole Creator of Christ body and blood distinct for sacrifice.

God Bless.

@mbaren58

@Lion777tpo Believe in your heart is not good enough in order to be save.Even satan believe in Jesus.Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us a warning."Unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood you have no life within you".Eat Christ then in the Holy Eucharist.Body,blood,soul and divinity.Where you can touch Jesus.Pray that God the father will give you the knowledge to know Jesus in the bread of life.Our spiritual mother is praying for us too.This is why Jesus said,Behold your mother
cramirez11 10 months ago
@cramirez11 first off:
#1- You must be saved by knowing in you heart you are a sinner and you need to be born again.
#2- You need to admit Jesus rosed from the dead on the third day.
#3- After being saved, you must follow Jesus example by being baptized to show the whole world.
#4- If you eat bread and blood but without really believing in Jesus, your putting judgment on yourself.
#5- Jesus said,"Behold your mother," because He's going back to God( His Father) may God bless you, and Jesus too.
Lion777tpo 10 months ago
@cramirez11 and also incase you don't know, eating the bread is an example of Jesus body on the cross that he died at calvary. And also, the cup represents the blood of the new covenant, that God saves everyones sins. By eating the bread and drinking the cup means you have proclaimed the Lord's death until He returns, means that you believed that Jesus died an excrucitating death for your sins, AND you believe he will come back to save everyone. I`m a 42 year old Catholic but never was I taught that Mary is a Deity nor do I believe that she is seen as such by the Catholic Diocese but I do know that we say "Hail Mary full of Grace" I also never heard this teaching that Mary remained a virgin after Jesus was born.
FeignofCordor 10 months ago
@FeignofCordor your "religion" calls her the "queen of Heaven" and that doesn't imply deism in some way???
you "religion" repeatedly calls Mary ever virgin, now that to me implies that she remained a virgin even after Jesus' conception, no???
BrainDamageMugler 10 months ago
@BrainDamageMugler
I have neither called or heard anyone else call Mary "Queen of Heaven" I also have never called Mary or heard her called "Ever Heaven" and this I swear by the Lord Almighty. This whole talk of Mary being classed as a Goddess is news to me.
FeignofCordor 10 months ago
@BrainDamageMugler
Ever Virgin I mean. First time I`ve heard of this
FeignofCordor 10 months ago
@FeignofCordor
AllStarKase 10 months ago
@AllStarKase
FeignofCordor 10 months ago
@FeignofCordor

I've been deceived when I was a Catholic... thank you Lord for pulling me out of that cult called Catholic.
pacificrules 1 year ago
@pacificrules --Why do you say that our Church is a cult?
WayOfTheMaster454 1 year ago
@WayOfTheMaster454 several reasons. I dont need procedures or rituals to get to Jesus, I just need an open relationship with Jesus. I am free to talk to Jesus about anything and everything. Its the same relationship as parents are to their kids, brother to sister, wife to husband, etc. Another reason, Mary is not God, Jesus IS God. The whole old and new testaments all point to Jesus who is sole reason for saving us from eternal hell. All forms of prayer, worship, adoration, etc., belongs to God.
pacificrules 1 year ago
@pacificrules --And who says Mary is God ? Thats certainly not in any Catechism ive ever read.
WayOfTheMaster454 1 year ago
@WayOfTheMaster454 If you choose to read the Catechism rather than the bible, thats your choice. I choose to read the bible because it contains all the answers to life's question. I found this out when I surrendered to Jesus and He told me the truth. So when I investigated, He was right. All saints, including Mary, were humans and they were used for God's purpose. Jesus pointed this out to me on Acts 14:8-17 and 1Timothy 2:5. I believe and trust Jesus more than anyone else, including myself.
pacificrules 1 year ago
@pacificrules --And why did you say "rather"?
WayOfTheMaster454 1 year ago
@WayOfTheMaster454 because one book is from God, the other from humans (prone to err and lies). Its one or the other and I'm fully put my trust in the bible where God's words come alive within me and around me.
pacificrules 1 year ago
@pacificrules --Your implication was that I either read the bible OR the catechism, which is absurd to say, for I read both; Also they do not contradict one another, and why should they? The bible is a catholic book, and the catechism helps us understand whats in the bible.
WayOfTheMaster454 1 year ago
@WayOfTheMaster454 your choice buddy, not mine. However, because you ask, I'll answer. The catechism books and the bible both contract each other tremendously. I've done my research.... Seek and you will find.
pacificrules 11 months ago
@pacificrules --You say they contradict one another only because your understanding of scripture is faulty; the bible only "makes sense" in non-catholic churches if you ignore some verses and twist some verses.
WayOfTheMaster454 11 months ago
@WayOfTheMaster454 I'll ask you one final question before I end this texted-conversation with you. Do you wish to believe every word Jesus says about who He is, and who He is to you?
pacificrules 11 months ago
@pacificrules --yeah
WayOfTheMaster454 11 months ago
@WayOfTheMaster454 Then you can find His words all in the Bible, and not the Catechism books (not words of Jesus). Now it will be your choice to continue and seek Jesus' truth for yourself. My recommendation, dont stop seeking Jesus. He is your living hope in life. Look into the New Testaments. A good place to start is the Book of John. You're on your own now. I leave you with John 3:16-18 and also Romans 10:9-18. Good bye and may Lord Jesus bless you with His wisdom and strength to find Him.
pacificrules 11 months ago
@pacificrules --So why do you assume ive never read the New Testament / St John? Why do you assume I havent "found" him? The Catholic Church ALONE holds the WHOLE truth about Jesus Christ.

@BloodOfRayne The Church of Jesus Christ. I'm a guy who picked up a bible and read it on my own time. Contrary to vatican opinion, it's NOT complicated enough where I need a priest to tell me what it means. I suggest you do the same. Sal
