The last shot of the interior has a sort of spartan, minimilist modernity to it that wouldn't look out of place today! Not a bad idea but a terrible shame that not many of these gliders survive intact and preserved today.
I stayed a few days in a 'motel room' that was actually the front end of a Bristol Freighter. The tail section was still attached, and housed another family. The conversion to living accommodation was a little kinder than that seen in this video... but not much.
Does anyone know if any of these conversions survive or are in use today? I vaguely recall about 20 odd years ago a TV news item about one being used as a garden shed. I think it was carted off to a museum somewhere.
There's a section of a Horsa at the DeHavilland Museum in London Colney near St Albans. AFA living in an aircraft, there's a guy in Oregon who lives in a 727 that's not real far from where the Spruce Goose is in McMinnville

Heh! This sort of thing may have inspired Tolkien to write about the hobbits and their homes. The timing was right.
On the other hand, Jeremy Clarkson's loathing for caravans may have been imprinted during this period.

like to see what our unimaginative planning comitees would have to say about that nowadays.

There's a certain B777 at Heathrow that would be a good candidate

bollocks! Looking at the video he seems to be in his 50s, so would have been too old for service.

People who use rude language as you have done should be struck off.

Sorry to offend you!
But at least I don't make unfounded allegations against people trying to earn an honest living.
