  • do you really have to use all those products just to rod your hair???

  • Is it important to use the tissue paper? I forgot it at the store and it's friggin cold in NY tonight... I dont wanna go out to get it.

  • Dope! Love it mama! Bk go ahead:)

  • I am thinking about going natural, my question is what do i do when i have more new growth than permed hair? I don't want to wear a mini fro.

  • @ndanss Do you like braids?

  • @ndanss the nest thing would be to cut away the permed ends and go from there. I know most people don't want to do the BIG CHOP but it's easier to manage one texture of hair.

  • Myb i meant cold

  • I love this!! It so cute. I just bought some cild wave rods. Im about to proceed this style :) thanx

  • Thanks so much for the help...ur vid inspired me 2 try, so i did and now im waitin 4 them 2 dry...im so nervous that they might not come out well bcuz im like 10 mths into transitioning and i cut of most of my permed ends last mth so i jus hav a little bit to work with plus i hav skl 2moro mornin ....*Help me Jesus!*

  • cute an d great video. but wht in the world was playing

  • Turned out very cute!

  • cute.

  • Thank you SO much for posting this!! I am also transitioning from relaxed hair to natural. I'm 11 months into my transition, but have not done the BC. I've considered it many times, but chickened out each time. Instead, I've been wearing braids, but I'm tired of them (for now). Having two textures is a battle because I've never found a video that showed someone styling two tectures. This video has definitely helped overcome that issue. Thanks again. I love this look! :)

  • Co wash means to skip the shampoo and just wet hair and and conditioner. You should leave the conditioner on for a few minutes then wash out.

  • tht looks very cute!....good job:)

  • HOTT Girlfriend! :) LOL

  • liked the tut...I do the double protection too lol:)*

How many packs of rods did you used??

  • what exactly is a cowash? I am in my second month of transitioning- just at the point where I would normally get my relaxer (8-10 weeks). I am not getting a relaxer of course and I need advice on what the nxt step is since I am just embarking- today I had my hair washed and roller set, and instaed of blow drying or flat ironing, I just took the rollers out and

  • I like it it's really cute

  • yur natural hair is so pretty...

  • So what will you do when you cut the perm out? Will it still curl and separate like that?

  • very cute!

  • Your hair looks great! Thanks for posting. Can't wait to try it.

  • i love it too, im thinkin about doin my hair like that now. it just takes me forever :)

  • love the hair!

  • you really dont know how much this helped me! Im going natural for the 1st time since i was a three. i wanted something else to do with my hair so that it grow. this brings ideas. love it! Thanks!

    _Rennie101_

  • i sleep with two snug fitting hairnets and my satin cap on top of them. this holds the curls in place and i believe it preserves the hairstyle.

  • Go girl!!! I love it... I'm so glad black women are embracing the Au Natural look. I'm transitioning too. Thanks for the vid!

  • omg! it came out really great! your curls have some amazing shine :D I've only been going natural for 2 1/2 months now, but it's already proving to be such a challenge! I'm going to try this out! thanks!!

  • I love it. I would do it now but I have to get more rods..

  • The style is cute. I have been transitioning and have not had a relaxer since December 2009. I may try this style.

  • How many bags of rods do you use?

  • thank yhu!.

  • very cute, your eyebrows are nice too!

  • Thank you for sharing this. My teen daughter has been growing out her relaxer for about 6 months now. However, she has no style tips. I will show her your video.

  • Amazing... I love it... im gong to try this like rigt now!!Lol

  • love it.

  • Love it!! Cutsie, cutsie, cutsie. I bought some perm rods this past weekend and I'm washing and using the rods tonight. I'm only 4 mths post relaxer, but definitely need a new transitioning style to blend these roots. LOL!

  • Great video!!! Awesome idea and help for transitioning. Wish i would have seen this before I got frustrated and decided to give in and put a relaxer in after 6 months of new growth. I got flexirods right after I saw your video. I'm starting over with 3 months of new growth. Just wanted to say thanks.

    PS - I'm in my husband's account.

  • I love yu for this!!! ive been transitioning 7mo and ive been wearing wigs and micros every other mo ive not found anything tu du mit my hair it's your lenght sooo copying lolz

  • that was very nice

  • I'm in week 10 of my transition and need styles like this. Wow, I WISH I was 6 months in and had this much growth. Very pretty!

  • Your hair is beautiful. I've been doing the rod set for about 4 months now and I get so many compliments. I don't use that many products, to tell the truth, I use only setting lotion and ultra sheen. My curls can lasts up to 5-6 weeks, but I have my niece wash it in 4. My hair had always tend to be dry, since a child and I'm afraid to add too much product and my hair will get too greasy. But I still need more moisture, I'll look again at the other products you use. Any suggestions? TY

  • nice video ;0)

  • luv the style.......and your eyebrows

  • You did a great job! I am only in my first month of transitioning, so I am still learning how to do styles on my own. I just had this done last week... I hate that my curls are already gone (I had to get some good sleep rather than the tip-headed sleep last night). I'm thinking of trying this without my stylist. :)

  • can you use cold rods on dry hair?

  • very cute ;-) Just wondered what you do at night with the curls, i've always found they go flat ;-(

  • @munchkette - Thanks for watching. - So around day 3 to 4 some of my relaxed ends would start to flatten so I would either maintain with a lil aloe vera gel on the ends placing satin sponge rollers in the flatten prone spots or just cowash my hair. ( in the beginning I cowash 2x a week which worked great for me) in the beginning. Hope this helps

  • @Lillove81 THIS VIDEO ALSO HELPED ME, I HAVENT HAD A PERM IN OVER A YEAR , AND MY HAIR GROWS FAST BUT I STILL HAVE PERM ON MY ENDS........IS THE PAPER ALREADY WRAPPED ON THE ROLLERS PRIOR TO BEING ROLLED ON YOUR HAIR?

  • im going to do my hair like that in a few days. im so excited!!! your hair came out so beautiful. very shiny and neat. im hoping mine does the same thing.

  • You look freaking awesome! OMG you're from Brooklyn??? I love your hair style but I haven't been able to accomplish it.. :( ... I would pay you to do my hair :) DO you think going to the Dominicans for a wash and set will work?

    Shauna

  • lol this was funny and very helpful but yeah maybe u should mix the oils and shea lol that was a cute process ha!

  • I luv your transition style i have been looking for something to do to my hair looks good

  • it looks really good! i am totally going to do this, since its getting warmer over here in the UK ;]

  • thank you for this video it helped me out alot while I was transitioning!

  • @93lovelythang : Thanks for watching! Glad to help

  • I loove your eyebrows!! How do u do it!! do u use powder or liner or liquid gel ? U should do a tutorial on brows too ur awesome!

  • @NYPebbles88: Thanks for watching... I get my eyebrows threaded and use

Mac's Spiked eyebrow pencil and how studio fix makeup to fix anything I see fit ...

I'm not a professional I just love playing with make up...

I have found a youtuber that is a professional that uses all the tricks I do (but took me forever to figure thru trial and error) ...She's awesome... her name is Lilpumpkinpie05 and the video name is Back2Basics: Perfect, sculpted Brow

    Hope this helps

  • Loving this style and I loooove your eyebrows!! How do u do them, do u use eye shadow, eye liner or eye mac gel ?

  • You did a great job! I used to wear this style a long time ago and seeing you do it makes me want to wear it again!! Thanks for inspiring me :)

  • @technicolor87 : Thanks for watching glad to help... Let me know how its going.

  • okay How do you run a comb through your hair?! i'm on my sixth month transitioning (my permed hair iz a bit longer than yours maybe that's why?) But when i wash i just have ample amounts of tangles.

  • @N2fly : Thanks for watching... try the detangling routine by kimmaytube on youtube... Where you section detangle in the shower with the conditioner still in it works... Hope this helps!

  • Thank you , thank you , thank you so much for this! I was at the end of my rope. I've been transitioning for over a year and have NO plans on cutting off the relaxed ends. I was struggling to find a transition style that used little or no heat but couldn't find one. I bought some cold wave rods but didn't really know how to use them. I almost threw them away. Thanks to this video, I now have a workable style. I'm not using any heat til June of 2010 so this is perfect. Keep the vids comin!

  • @Aamarec Thanks for watching !... Glad to help... I would love to hear how your journey is going.!

  • i did this to my hair last night. i have to admit i was scared last night cuz i thought it wouldn't come out okay but this morning it looks so good! everyone i walk by at my job say my curls look so cute and they think i went to a professional! thanks so much for this vid it saved my hair and my money lol cuz now i can do my hair at home. im going to month two of my transition and my new growth is driving me crazy but this style hides it well. thanks again!

  • thanks for watching. so glad to help and congrats on your joourney to natural

  • About how long does this style last for you? I did mine and I'm not sure if it was the product or what, but it was so flat in the back within 3 days. It might have just been the way i was sleeping.

  • Thanks for watching.

  • I LOVE IT! It's so cute..im gonna try it. Thanks for sharing

  • Hello, I just wanted to know how long have u been transitioning?

  • Thanks for watching! I've been transitioning for 10 months now

  • wow, I've never like seen grow out before. Im biracial and I tend to have more of a white hair texture (i know its not the proper term) so when i got my relaxer I didin't need it THAT bad. It was almost seven years ago..But I never had any growout...or not any visible growout...is that weird??

  • Thanks for watching... That what's so amazing when persons of African descent go back to their natural hair and become chemical. We are only then able to see our true hair texture and curl pattern. Because we live in a melting pot, some may have natural hair that is curly, kinky, coily, wavy or straighter (like yours). We are all so fabulously unique and being the natural you allows that beautiful uniqueness to shine thru

  • wooo another transitioner :) My last relaxer was in august.... so Im almost where u were then now :)

  • I really like this video!!! thanks for making it easy to follow :)

  • Very cute! You have the easiest, most practical video I've viewed for a rod set. I tried Jane Carter's Wrap & Roll w/ a little coconut oil... but I didn't have any gel. So I'll use IC Olive Styling Gel next time. I've tried to do this twice and it's taken hours for me to learn. After this video, I think I've got it!

  • thanks for watching... Glad to help the gel I believe helps it set... and also making sure the ends oof your hair are tightly smoothed on to the rod you should be fine... Please let me know how it turns out... I'm sure it will be great.

  • thanks so much for posting this!!!!!! i kept wondering why my rod sets are not turning out ive been using setting lotion im gonna try it with gel next time and the oils you showed!

  • thanks for watching... Glad to help... the gel I believe helps it set, and also making sure the ends of your hair are tightly smoothed on to the rod you should be fine... Please let me know how it turns out... I'm sure it will be great.

  • great job!

  • i 2 am transitioning and i think this will be a great alternative to cornrowing and wearing wigs. i think u did a great job! i have already made my list which include the ingredients u used. i will try out 2moro. thanks for sharing!

  • thanks for watching!... COngrats on your journey to natural and please let me know howthe style comes out I know it will look fab!

  • Thanks for the video on transitioning hair styles. love it.

    God bless

  • I, absolutely, love this style. Having been diagnosed with alopecia, I decided to go without perms months ago. Of course, that was after being hardheaded and continuing to do it. lol Anyway, I'm so glad to know that there are so many others who've made the decision to go natural. In fact, you've given me a hairstyle that I love. Having always had long hair, only to have it start to break rather badly, I'm in need of all the help I can get. Thank you & God bless!

  • Thanks for watching.... Wow your story truly toched me and I'm so glad to help.. honestly when I started my youtube I really didn't think i would impact anyone.. I am humbled to bring any positive insight in this hair journey we are all taking

  • thats very pretty

  • Love it!!

  • that is too cute! this is exactly what I needed to know so I can curl my hair like that too. I'm not going natural, but taking a much needed break from relaxers and i have about 6 months of new growth to cover up. Awesome vid! thanks!

  • thanks for watching! glad to help all!

  • Very cute!

  • Love it

  • Also I should have watched the end prior to commenting. I use the blue rollers and I use a head band...This style I always turn into a fro hawk after the first or second day too. Nice style!

  • Funny we have the same hair regimen and on the same month of transitioning. I sometimes braid my hair and then do the roller rods.

  • Oh wow, i didnt know there were so many ,go back to natual! Im in my second month, and i have to say i went at it with scissors and cut off all the permed ends, starting fresh! Thanks for the vid, LOOKS GREAT!!!

  • thanks for watching . Congrats to you on your BC....:)

  • Luv it!!! Now I know why my rod sets were looking dry, lack of product!!!
