There is support for WLAN, but only up to Intel4965 BGN cards, there is a driver for newer chipsets (starting Intel 5100 and newer) under developement but unfortunately no results so far.
Yesd, you can - if you use OS/2 Warp 4.52 or eComStation. OS/2 Warp 3 and 4 are not possible, only way for them is to update them via UPDCD, than it works.
EComStation. The more I see it, the more I long to have it as my main system. The problem is hardware support as someone has already said. I suppose if you customized, you could easily find out what ECom supports best and go from there. I am tired of Windows and the communists. This is a great third option.
I have a copy of OS/2 Warp 4 on CD, and eComstation 1 which was good. I have been using OS/2 since version 3 which came on floppies. I was able to run virtual boxes with many other OS' like the Amiga to run their programs. It is primarily used today in business and I think the company making the software look to them for sales. I didn't know that you could run Windows 7 or any other version in OS/2 though.
impressive, is ecomstation still being developed/maintained? i'm aware os/2 warp is old but i know very little about ecomstation. also did you compile virtualbox yourself or does the windows executable work? and just wondering, but what are the advantages of ecomstation or os/2 compared to linux or windows?
Hi,yes, ecomstation 2.0 is still under development. Look for the ecomstation homepage in the net. Virtualbox: there is a 1.6 for OS/2 availiable, I did not need to compile something.
Advantages: Small, fast, no virus. but limited hardware support - so it depends on the hardware you have.
It may be worth a try depending on your hardware.openoffice 3.1.1,flash 10beta,Latest firefox, thunderbird and seamonkey are also as OS/2 and ecomstation versions availiable.
what is the reason for Virtualbox not running on your system? It should according to the facts yo told. What kind of Thinkpad is it exactly you are using?
Will this work in my super old computer?I want a newer OS for it.

Seems odd that they didn't change the splash screens to say "eComStation" instead of "OS/2 Warp" (especially with the IBM logo on the first one).
Nice to see that audio is working -- bad sound support for my old SoundBlaster 16 in Warp 4 was why I switched to Linux back in the late 1990s.

My system(MCP2 & eCS 2.0rc6a on ThinkPad240) is not work Virtual box.
But, I felt a big possibility because I saw this movie.

SigurdWarp 2 years ago
Mr. SigurdWarp,
My small ThinkPad has CPU of 400MHz, and there is only a memory of 320MB. It is considerably severe to make OS of the Windows 95 class work with VPC.
It might not be a performance that VBOX demands.
It is thought that it is necessary to buy ThinkPad of faster CPU so that I may use VirtualBOX without the inconvenience.
