the plague was common through out european history, during classical greek, roman times, then in 6 century ac, then again 7 century, then again in the 11 century and the 14 century it killed more this time because europe had more pop and had entered a more prolific time with warmer planet since europe was leaving a soft ice age, there was more trade, more food more chance for plagues, not just bubonic but all sorts of plagues ppl didnt had any kind of higiene costumes since roman western empire

It would be very difficult for an epidemic of this scale to take place today due to advances in medical science, its easier to identify and treat viral epidemics these days. All the medieval "doctors" had was superstition and a rudimentary understanding of human physiology.

@theshadowbehindme but only from people using antibiotics too much.for example my aunt used to give my cousins antibiotics at the first sniffle.but also i remember when my mom had mrsa which was resistant to penicelin but they still gave her another type of antibiotic and made her better. there are dozens if not hundreds of types of antibiotics and bacteria become ressitant to one type over months if not years
