Thats a very good question. I stopped for all of the trucks primarily for safety reasons and to give them the right of way. My thoughts are that they have a tough job to do back there and the last thing they expect to see is me. For my safety and theirs, the best I can do is let them know I am there and stay out of their way as they pass.
What are you driving? I tried going up to Prudhoe Bay in a Dodge Nitro, but the snow/ice was so rough I thought it was going to shake my fillings loose. Got past Atigun Pass, but had to turn around because we were going 10 mph on a flat stretch of road.
We are driving a 2004 Land Rover Discovery. The suspension has been upgraded for all of the offroading that I do (usually out in the desert though) but it did a great job on the Dalton as well.
why did you stop when the trucks where passing?...
