what kind of pump do you use? is it some sort of pump that we use in small aquarium?

@dinliner08 I used a cooler fan from an old dell desktop computer to provide the suction.

Is the fan used to keep the door sucked closed? and then when its shut off the door falls open?

That is correct. The fan serves as the suction and the gate latch.
