They all had the right chemistry to work as a girl band. Nadine was clearly the best singer but always seemed a bit up herself with no likeabilty whatsoever. Cheryl the extremely good looking headline grabber that the media tended to focus on. Kimberly the sensible, always well behaved mother figure of the band with lots of likeability. Sarah the wild party animal. And the sour faced ginger one... erm... not really sure what she added.
Dont understand how Cheryl can say, 'I'm just a normal girl' 'I've never been to stage school or anything like that' when she went to ballet school and was a child model for many years?? clearly trying to get the 'I'm normal just like you' vote, but it's all fake.
@manchesterminx01 Ballet school isn't stage school. Ballet school doesn't involve singing. And she only went for a few weeks befor she got homesick and went back to Newcastle.
cheryl has extensions , sometimes she does go without them , like when she went to south sheilds with joe macelderry and she had her own bobbed hair the same as here , still cant understand how she got through week after week, they were so much better singers than all the girls aloud , you know what they call xfactor guys, fix factor,,, makes you wonder.

@Lucienofficial Stage school is basically like a singing and acting school, she only did ballet which sometimes meant singing and acting in some parts...and most of the ads she was in when she was younger, she didn't have to really say anything in them! :)

What don't people grasp about the fact that being successful in the music industry isn't all about your vocal? She's not Whitney but she's got a perfectly acceptable voice (a la Kylie, Britney etc), she's got a great personality as seen by the fact she was the driving force in most GA interviews and she's a great performer who IMO always stands out on GA tours. They weren't trying to find the 5 best singers in the world. They were trying to find 5 people who together could for a great girlband.

Ok realistically, even the biggest Cheryl fan can't say that she has the best voice in the world. However, what she does have is star quality. Now obviously looks come into this, but her charisma, personality, stage presence also help. If she was on X Factor as a solo artist, she'd be like Cher (i.e. people would love her for her performance/image etc) but she wouldn't be known for her voice (like Treyc and Mary are.) Nothing wrong in that though, look @ people like Madonna, Britney etc.

She VERY pretty but she has no more presence, talent or personality than the other girls tbh. She was in the bottom two twice (if I remember correctly), she was very lucky to make it in the group. There's a lot of qualities one should have to make it. Good looks, presence, talent, personality, and not being afraid to give it your all. And I think that Cheryl has that >3

So even though she wasn't the greatest singer, the other qualities make up for it and they know fir sure she will improve.....this us why certain people are talent scouts and know what to look for. It's not as simple as you think. Good or bad, in or out. It's more complicated.
The reason Cheryl Tweedy (Cole) made it through is because it takes so much more than being a great singer to make it. There is a combination of things and she has it. There's also one little thing called PRESENCE that you either have or you don't have, and based on that presence these people know that if they throw something her way, she will master it.

Ok realistically, even the biggest Cheryl fan can't say that she has the best voice in the world. However, what she does have is star quality. Now obviously looks come into this, but her charisma, personality, stage presence also help. If she was on X Factor as a solo artist, she'd be like Cher (i.e. people would love her for her performance/image etc) but she wouldn't be known for her voice (like Treyc and Mary are.) Nothing wrong in that though, look @ people like Madonna, Britney etc.

She VERY pretty but she has no more presence, talent or personality than the other girls tbh. She was in the bottom two twice (if I remember correctly), she was very lucky to make it in the group. Her solo success is baffling. She's very good at selling her sob stories I'll give her that (in this video "i'm from a council estate" blah blah blah, and the Ashley affairs).

So even though she wasn't the greatest singer, the other qualities make up for it and they know fir sure she will improve.....this us why certain people are talent scouts and know what to look for. It's not as simple as you think. Good or bad, in or out. It's more complicated.

The reason Cheryl Tweedy (Cole) made it through is because it takes so much more than being a great singer to make it. There is a combination of things and she has it. There's also one little thing called PRESENCE that you either have or you don't have, and based on that presence these people know that if they throw something her way, she will master it.
