I can not get rid of thhe pain, nor thhe purple bump on the back of mine (not a boil I've chhecked) that's swelling and there's dark yellowishbrownpuss on the back im doing the sea salt soaks and the tea tree oil twice a day, and im still waiting for results, even though its been like 3 weeks. @serenity6831 Just give it time. Cartilage piercings are notoriously hard to heal. Keep doing what your doing and you should be fine.

Ouch. Safety pin? Insane! (But I mean good kind of insane.) I pierced my ears 6 times(so far) + lip, but i always used regular needle. I think it´s waaay better, it costs almost nothing and you can be sure, that it´s perfectly clean. Plus you can choose how thick needle you want/need. Can´t imagine piercing it with a safety pin. o.O

I just did my own cartilage like two minutes ago. But I used piercing needles I ordered off MsPiercing . com. I LOVE the needles, they work awesome. Didn't hurt at all. So, if you pierce your own ears, you should at lest by the right needles. :)

i pierced mine like, 2 days ago with a needle, and it took EXTRA pressure to get it through the last couple layers of skin. and then it was REALLY hard to take the needle back out, and then i pretty much had to repierce it with an actual earring, cause it closes within seconds. D:

I don't think people realize that sewing needles aren't made for piercing skin. You'll have better luck with a piercing needle, or a sewing machine needle.
