I was raised as Catholic, now I'm agnostic. I think that the things that drove me out of the church in first place were those that you say. I don't believe in any kind of god, but I really liked your words, I hope all believers were like you. Believing is about what you believe, not which church you attend. I don't think that if there is a god, he's gonna be interested in you spending time in a building hearing the same story over and over. For me, it's more important what you do to help others
Young people are not only walking away from church, they are abandoning the Christian belief itself. Mono-theism is gradually becoming a think of the past. Mainly because of the information age, skepticism and atheism are having a much greater appeal to young minds than any religion. Christianity is declining world wide and I don't just mean church attendance.
I'm glad that you made this response. There's a lot of tradition out there, but there needs to be more truth. Truth is real love for God & real love for people. Many people do not see men as made in God's image. They may think that SOME are made in God's image-- usually they're ones that look like act like, & think like them. But we must see ALL people as made in God's image. Some of us are broken & need to be restored.... Those who have been restored must live the truth in love
That said, however, restored people are not perfect people. We do need to be part of a community of believers, who will pray for one another, encourage one another, and edify one another as the Day of the Lord draws near.
Hi NB, Nice to hear your spirit, your right on! That beast down the street with the steeple is a business to benifit the clergy and they LOVE deceived unbelievers in the pew$. I left 5 years ago and am connected to the true vine and am alive again.
Right on Dave! Great defense of the good news of God's grace. I saw this video the other day and I'm not surprised since it's a Southern Baptist thing ... The So. Baptist church administration would not know how to function without a calculator, graph paper, and charts. Christ is reduced to a stat at the end of the year by all churches of organized religions.

Enjoyed the comments/perspective, though I only imagine what video you refer to is like, so I'm biased I admit. :)

God instructs us to gather together. The "church" does not refer to a building with the people in it but rather God's people all across the world.
