Insomniac Games decided to give a more cartoony-style to the game, with more saturated colors. Not bad looking IMO. :)

Yes indeeed. Insomniac has added "self-shadowing" technology, this means that the characters' body will cast a shadow on themselves on some parts of their body, like in real life. :)
