  • absolutely awesome

  • Thanks for the list man!! I hope everyone does the research well.

  • Most of those are like saying that if the President of Iran roots for the Boston Celtics, they should therefore not win a championship 6 degrees of despiration wont work 2 can play it that way but I WONT JUDGE McCain on these: Jim Hensley G. Gordon Liddy Charles Keating Raffaello Follieri Rick Renzi Rick Davis Charles Black Richard Quinn John Hagee Rod Parsley
  • Acorn isnt a person but most of the workers for Acorn and the rest of the list are all good people. Rezko and Mohamed Salim Al-Churbaji may be criminals but does that require throwing the baby out with the bathwater? Most of those named are Philanthropic individuals with peacful philosophies. These are the truth seekers of today that frighten the greedy of yesterday. BTW BO began his run for prez in the living room of Saddam; spread the word that a vote for one hussein is a vote for another.

  • too cool - way to go Rachel!

  • Great piece! Rachel rocks!

  • I see Barack Obama signs all over Utah. I've seen approximately 7 or 8 McCain signs. Barack the vote!

  • After showing McCain & Palin's speeches in their entirety, MSNBC just cut away from Obama's speech to show a car chase.

There is no progressive mainstream media outlet. We have two shows. Two. The rest is pretty blatantly RW... just because the RW host doesn't scream "SHUT UP!" at Dem / liberal guests does, that not automatically mean a show is balanced.

  • Very well done Rachel really awesome analyzing

  • well played. i love football. =]

Go Cal Bears! I mean, GOBAMA!

  • GOBAMA. Love it! That's the best political candidate "tag" I've heard since Obama '08. Nice.

  • Nor I. :-)

  • This is probably a great tool for people who know about sports.

I am not one of them. :-)

  • yea but she got it right on the money.

  • I figured she did. She is a smart woman. As are her writers.

  • must be doing something right to beat king

  • She's beating Larry King? I didn't know that. Good for her.

Not that I have anything against Larry King- he asks softball questions of everyone. I consider him more entertainer than pundit.

  • yep and with her show it help take MSNBC to the number 2 spot above CNN and its even helping KO and Hard ball beat fox a couple times over the last couple weeks in the key demo.

  • Good. Faux News is a joke. They have no journalistic integrity. MSNBC might lean left, but at least they don't have their hists yell at people, drum up fake controversies, and flat out lie. Plus, Faux News is hypocritical enough to use "Fair and Balanced" as their slogan when they clearly lean right.

I don't know how anyone can watch Fox except to make fun of them.

  • now if they can dump Morning Joe and bring someone in who is also progressive I may turn in for the AM hours. but I cant stand him and really hope he is gone soon. Also the whole network would be a lot better is it was always progressive I would be watching a lot more

  • I think they have him on for balance. Used to have Tucker Carlson too- and of course Buchanan contributes as well.

Most of the time Scarborough doesn't bother me- even though I often don't agree with him, at least he lets his guests talk. (And I got a kick out of the little hissy fit he had when he and Rachel got into it during the primary coverage, when he left the set. Too funny.)

  • at this point I dont need balance, if I want balance I will watch CNN. I am a progressive and it would be nice to have a place where I could watch the news with out being pissed off at the host.

  • I see what you are saying. YOU may not need balance, but I bet the network execs thinks THEY need to keep a balance.

My favorite person CNN is Jack Cafferty. And I like what I have seen of Campbell Brown.

  • but look at where MSNBC is doing well, its with progressive shows. In time they will see this and you will the whole network change to get the shows that are working for them

  • Well, yes, if for no other reason that all media is owned by corportations, and they care about money. The more viewers they have the more they can charge for advertising, etc.

  • So why would they go left *or* right then?

It's not about "more viewers" anymore. All of media, whether it's news channels, television comedies, sports programming, etc. is breaking into niche markets. Advertising has become sophisticated enough where clients are paying to reach specific demographic groups. It may be progressives under 25, or conservatives older than 50.

Fox already got to the conservative Republicans. MSNBC has found a niche on the liberal side of spectrum.

  • I agree with the niche part. I am not sure if I can sum this up in 300 characters, but what I mean is that I assume MSNBC tracks their viewers and I would assume that say, Morning Joe, is still attracting people of all backgrounds. Now if those numbers start to change, or if they start to attract primarily left leaning viewers their future programming will lean more left.
