@xkickit17 I understand the question, but here's the deal, the rythm is not 4/4 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4 etc.) like most popsongs and such. Maybe he made a li'l mistake somewhere but he's good!! :) But good question...for a retard :P

@xkickit17 Well that's not so strange, Simply said: It doesnt feel natural cause you're used to 4/4 rythms. I had (kinda still have ;) ) the same problem while I was a drummer for about 5 years. Reason: Every song we played was 4/4 rythm... ok maybe one 2/4 ;) So imho you're exactly as retarded as I am ;)

but u gotta get other heads. the toms sound way too dry, they don't breathe and well just look at the snare head.. when the coating is off it it sounds crappy and not very musical at all.

Eh...I disagree, personally I like the toms to sound that way. They have more of a studio sound. Ringy toms with lots of sustain are better for jazz and lighter fills.

nice m8 just one thing about the drums .. y do u put rings on your toms..in my opnioun just tune them and mute them to your gelight with masking tape so u can hear the real beaty of those toms ;)

The rings on the toms are used to dampen/reduce/kill overtune. It has no negative effect on the drums though.

It's much more effect than masking tape.

It's not supposed to be on beat, it's playing off the beat. Something that's very common in styles of playing you're probably not familiar with because your so close minded, such as flamanco. If he was really offbeat, the sound would change dramatically when he repeats parts, instead it stays the same.

Great work! Nice proggy creative version you got there, grooving like hell too! I especially like the ride bell grooves. That being said I think your toms are dreadfully dry, and you kinda slow down and speed up a little bit sometimes.

You're playing along very nicely with the backingtrack, it's all tight and the grooves are in good taste. The music is kinda cheesy though ;D
