I would say this. I think that most people would always mention Canada seperately because their culture is actually quite different and as a nation as a whole they share relatively little in common I feel. They are as different as chalk and well for the sake of an argument I will say igneous rock. They might appear to be the same but their make ups are both really very different. Good questions by the way.
People outside America often doesn't like America. Mostly the govornment, I think, but sometimes also the people.
Maybe they don't want Americans to be a part of them. They would like the Americans to stay focused on them selves as they thought they were the masters of the world or whatever they think of Americans.
It's sad because you shouldn't judge people based on what nation they are from, but who they really are. There are all kind of people everywhere. Nation is not important.
America goes from the tip of Canada to the bottom of Argentina. I also hate when people say americans as United States people. I am Argentinian and I'm as american as uncle Sam or Elvis... But its their little minds trying to own everything.
That, and we haven't forgotten what Canada did in both World wars for us. They didn't have to wait until they were attacked to join the fight against Nazism like the USA. They volunteered right from the start. I passed a huge memorial to the Royal Canadian Air Force pilots who died while stationed over here(Scotland)during WW2 just yesterday. Thought you might like to know. Canadians are very well thought of over here.
Wow, that's just amazing. ^_^!!! Thanks!! I can't lie and say I'm not happy to be Canadian. And as an individual I do try my best to "represent" my country when I'm abroa (and at home..) XD. Thanks for letting me know all this. I appreciate it! :)
Aww girl, don't you get it? We love Canadians,we just don't see you as Americans! (You might share a continent butyour roots are obviously different! You're all Europeans,we can tell!)
YOU ARE GOOD WITH ACCENTS ESPECIALLY BRITISH BECAUSE CANADIANS USE WORDS WHICH ARE ALOT MORE SIMILAR TO THAT OF THE WORDS WHICH AMERICA USE. ITS JUST THE WAY YOU SAY THINGS LIKE GOD, PROCESS ETC... YOU SAY IT LIKE US AND AUSSIES THEY DONT.
I think you will find when they say America they just mean USA,
I dont think anyone considers Canadians to be Americans, maybe they might consider you to be similar to Americans but without the steriotypical arrogance and sound the same as Americans but we dont consider Canadians to be Americans
