In "Lamont's" defense, Fred is not the easiest person to get along with either. Calling your only child a "Dummy" is not so entertaining....so lay off Lamont! Besides, the only time Lamont goes off on Fred is when he's provoked! Still love the show after all these years!!!! RIP Redd Foxx!

To finally set the record straight., they MADE Lamont talk mean to his father for the first two seasons, copying the British original version. Then they realized that it needed to change, so the last 4 seasons he was nicer to Fred. By the way, Redd was a very generous person in real life, a trait good for all to learn.

I also loved the "Sanford" show with the big, fat white guy. It lasted only one season, but I sure wish it was on DVD. Every once in awhile, BET shows "Sanford".
