    jueves (hoe-er-ves) or (who-er-ves)

    sabado (sa-va-doh) or (sa-bay-doh)

  • @fazz1988

    according to English pronunciation rules...

    jueves = "who-AY-bays"

    sábado = SAH-bah-do

    (all caps mean's that's where the emphasis is)

  • @kaihutton i knoww huh!

  • @tontitofrito in the video it sounds like SAH-Vah-do, im a little bit confused :/ help plz

  • @fazz1988 just remember that the 'v' in spanish is equivalent to the english 'b' sound....... its not proper pronounciation to pronounce it as the english 'v' sound. just remember that and it will help you.

  • @fazz1988 no, jueves is pronounced 'hwe-bes' and sabado is 'sa-ba-doe'

  • @InsertNameHere297 Thanks think i've got the pronounciation nailed now :D

  • @fazz1988 depends on if your pronouncing the vowels right or not :-)

  • @fazz1988 Way-vase and Sah-bah-doh

  • Your video is awesome!!! Muchas gracias ;)

  • i can finally see who much the Spaniards influenced the Filipinos back then, haha

  • @cainigo12 Well, the Philippines were a colony of Spain for a few centuries until the U.S. took posession of them after the Spanish American war at the beginning of the 20th century.

  • Hi! :D

    Your lessons are awesome. I am only begginer in Spanish but I've learned a lot in one day. That's something unusual for me. ;):):

  • Could you write some exampels of using word "weekend" in spanish, please?

  • I love this video and the teacher!!! plural forms of all days are the same except sabado and domingo. Los domigos and los sabados, yes? thanks a lot!

  • @CakeAnnaP si!!! sabado-domingo= singular

    sabados y domingos= plural

    u have to add an "s" to make almost every word plural ex: perro-perros casa-casas, departamento-departamentos, computadora-computadoras!!

  • ...Okay. You're better than my Spanish teacher. I'm going to take notes from you instead of her XD

  • wow you´re reallyt a good professor, but if you´re a teenager and you wanna talk to another tenager and you said Hola, ¿Cómo te llamas?, y ¿Cómo estás?, they´ll think that you´re a nerd xD its better if u say: Que pedo we ¿Cómo andas? (thats between men if you talk to a woman its right to say Hola, ¿Cómo te llamas?

  • Really good I love your videos but THERE WAS NO DO-IT-YOURSELFS in this one /-:

  • Gracias, this was helpful, but it doesn't sound right in my english accent. XP

  • OMG-Fact: In Spanish, days of the week are (no sé bien cómo escribir esto en inglés) "linked" to some planets and satellites (except Domingo):

    Lunes ---> Luna (moon)

    Martes ---> Marte (mars)

    Miércoles ---> Mercurio (mercury)

    Jueves ---> Júpiter (jupiter)

    Viernes ---> Venus (venus)

    Sábado ---> Saturno (saturn)

  • The week starts in sunday. I've never heard of any calendar (official) that starts on anyother day of the week. At least in america is like this.

  • Muy bien gracias. I can feel my courage to speak y practicar regresa cuando I see your pleasant way and presence. Gracias

  • i am dating a girl from uruguay and i am studing spanish because i want to make things easier ....thanks for your lesson

  • Thanks a lot!

    This is probably the best explained (out of 20 others) Spanish lesson series I've seen!

    I'm downloading them so I can listen while I do math, and I'll definitely recommand it to other Spanish learners!

  • my teacher wanted 3 pages summerizing these notes including your past two lessons. i got a page even though i wrote everything you said... if you could email him that would be cool cause hes a huge fan of yours. wperez@cohs.com

  • my teacher wanted 3 pages summerizing these notes including your past two lessons. i got a page even though i wrote everything you said...

  • ok well i suck at spanish (and trust me im FAR from being an expert) but i think u should bring up the importance of the accents on the words...it MIGHT help viewers to understand how to pronounce it...i dont know just an idea, again i might not even know wat im talking about XD

  • @splatterpaintvids You do know what you are talking about. I'm mexican, and accents are SUCH a big thing. An accent can change the meaning of the word, and can create misunderstandings, so yeah, they are really important.

  • omg thank u so much i have a test tomorow and u just about saved my skin! :D

  • Todays not Saturday what is he talking about?

  • pause at 2:11 (his face is funny)

  • i have to skip the numbers spanish lesson since we are still using it here in the philippines...

  • very good lessons,

    just curioes how much did you get paid for wearing the kit kat t shirt:)

  • zero dollars and zero cents.

  • @tontitofrito u mean cero

  • @tontitofrito Kit Kat are major cheapos. :]

    Thank you for your lessons! Really helpful.

  • @tontitofrito One question, why does for example el lunes, el martes change to los lunes, los domingo when talking about on the weekend/ on weekends? And where else does this el and los come into play?

  • @zabbhai

    (el) lunes = (on) Monday

    (los) lunes = (on) Mondays

    we use 'el' or 'los' to say "on" a particular day while 'el' refers to once while 'los' refers to a habit

    ej:

    Los sábados, Julia va al centro comercial. (On Saturdays, Julia goes to the mall).... probably a habit, she always goes every Saturday...

    El lunes, hay un examen. (On Monday, there is a test).... just this Monday, not every one

  • thank you for sharing and it's very helpful

  • Cool this vidoe helps alot keep doin wat ya doin

  • muchos gracias :)

  • hey is saturday pronounced sav-ah-do or sab-ah-do? i know that 'v' is usually pronounced as 'b', but i've noticed that sometimes you pronounce it with the b. is 'b' also pronounced 'v'? or is this all interchangeable depending on the word?

    thanks

  • Great question. When it is between vowels such as the case of 'sábado', the 'b' or 'v' is usually softened to a sound that sounds like a 'v' to the English ears but is somewhere in between the 'b' and the 'v'.

    You use your lips instead of your lips and teeth.

    However, the level of softened sound will depend on the native speaker.

  • @tontitofrito ah i know what you mean about the inbetween b and v sound. thanks for that man, your videos are what inspired me to learn spanish. can i ask how long it took you to learn the language and become fluent in it? and in one of your videos you mentioned that your spanish leans more towards central american spanish. are these two different types of spanish compatible with each other? i.e. if you went spain, would people have a hard time understanding you or not?

    thanks again

  • @tontitofrito In old spanish we could difference between "B" and "V", but today there is no difference between them.

  • ok now you reaally remind me of Ian Somerhalder. dude! stop! its getting weird :D

    btw i really enjoy your spanish lessons. thanx a lot.

    and spanish days of the week are similar to french days of the week :)

  • I am currently learning conversational Spanish. I have a good teacher, and your videos help me improve in my understanding of the language. You videos also help me remember what I am learning. Thank you so much!

  • Tu es el mejor profesor de l'espanol! (Haha, I think my grammar's wrong, but it's true.) I seriously think my teacher should just sit back and let your videos teach us. I mean, she's pretty good but you're much better, really. You enunciate each word carefully and clearly and I must thank you very much for that. One suggestion: I'm actually following along as you talk so it would be rather helpful if you put a longer break between each word because I need to take a breath even if you don't. =P

  • Hope your quiz went well!

  • You are great!! I've learned alot with you, you are a great teacher,,,Bravo

  • unbelievable! Are you the man himself? Thanks for everything

  • Your an absolute legend, but would you say 'Que dia' or 'Cual dia?'

  • General rule:

    When right before a noun: 'Qué' is more commonly used. '¿Qué día de la semana te gusta más?' / '¿Qué mes te gusta más?'

    When 'es' is between and you're asking about a preference:

    'Cuál' es used

    ¿Cuál es tu mes favorito? / ¿Cuál es tu día de la semana favorito?

    Hope that made sense! ;-)

  • thank you!

  • Ya, that was really cool. It helps a-lot with my spanish class. Your videos are REALLY nice, I hope you can keep on making more, so that other people who need help can come to you. Once again, thanks a-lot!!!
