got one of these back in 2008, 27k, with every extra you can get. (dealership orginally tried to sell for 32k... zzz). I love the agressive styling on the front. It's comfortable to drive, it's relatively responsive although i dont flog the shit out of it. Gears are nice and tight, all dials are easy to read. I'm more than happy with the buy.

Id love to get an Evo but in England, we cant get insured on an Evo untill were 21, due to its Insurance group. So sometimes a baby lancer is all we can get.

Plus not all people want the performance of an evo. People like my mom only want a car to take my sister to school in and go shopping.

Id love an Evo but thats not happening in the next 3 years. So a baby Lancer I will have to get.

Dont get a lancer unless your getting an evo, if your after a sports car a lancer rallyart or gts is only defined by its engine wereas an evo is the whole package, i dont like subarus that much but out of your choices id opt for the scooby and save myself having to explain that my lancer is a lancer with none of the racing pedegree of its evoloution counterpart.

Out of interest, do Japanese manufactured cars have the indicator (blinkers) paddle on the left hand side or right hand side of the steering wheel in the US? In Australia, we drive on the left, but cars manufactured in countries that drive on the right (eg. Germany, US) are sold here with the indicators on the left hand side. Just wondering if the reverse is true on the other side :-P

it's a decent car for the segment.. got the es model yesterday.. great commuter car for the price.. plus you get the aggressive styling.. interior isn't that bad either.. plus, I like it because it's assembled in japan with the parts also originating there.. now, if you have extra money but don't want to opt for the evo, a gts, or better yet a ralli-art version would be the way to go.. as for me, I'm happy with just the es model.

I am no sound expert, but I guess it would depend on what bose sound system we are talking about. A friend has bose system in his audi a8 (Standard in the car) IT plays very well and clear. But it does not have a subwoofer, so it is not as loud. It all depends on how you like your sound and what music you mostly play.

the turbos for a 2.0 lancer are running around 2,500. a new exhuast just an axleback like the Greddy ti-c goes for around 450. but if your planning to get a lancer i would recommend the ralliart. its a way better package, engine wise and looks.

Just got an 08 Lancer ES the other week. Its sweet! That's all I gotta say. It performs very well, (and trust me, we have an abandoned mall over here and I def. pushed this thing to its limits.) Plus, it has a kicking sound system (the Rockford Fosgate sound system.)

Also gotta comment on how mean this thing looks, I own the only Lancer in our neighborhood and trust me it gets a lot of attention. At the store, you always see people run around the bock of the car to get the name of it. IT ROCKS!
