OMG watching this just makes me so angry. I cant believe how many people get around with their head up their arse and have no clue what is going on around them. They are the same ones who ram you with trolleys, walk into you or step back on you in the supermarket. No clue.
When I was employed by Toronto Ambulance, from 1977 to 1990, I saw the driving public become more stupid in their reactions to emergency runs. I put it down to the large number of poorly educated drivers, many of whom are from other parts of the world.
Headphones and loud radios are also a problem. The sirens on the emergency vehilcles are rated at about 300 watts, but with tall buildings and the echo effect downtown, it is hard to get some peoples attention.
In most states in the U.S., emergency vehicles are required to pass on the left; never move over or turn left even on one way streets or if you are in the turn lane; doing so can and has caused accidents. Always move right.
Amazing Video. About time the "Move Over" law was introduced. I've seen countless numbers of people who just sit there and expect the emergency vehicles to somehow squeeze by them when they are in the middle of the road... And my hat goes off to all of the emergency personnell who provide us with safety.
i was at a gas station yesterday and an ambulance came, but a women driver in a BMW looks in the mirror but doesn't bother moving until 10secs
