these animals get treated like royalty and when something like this happens its 99.9% of the time of natural cause. you know like when somebody has a heart attack. these videos portray the sport of rodeo worse than it is. but most people are to ignorant to realize it.

Every rodeo I have been to shows animals being mistreated. Maybe our definition of mistreatment is different. The very events that take place at a rodeo are abuse. It’s all the same. It’s the deliberate mistreatment of animals for the purpose of entertainment and money.

ok as someone who has actually worked with these animals in both free range and rodeo situations, i can safely say that this is far from animal abuse. anyone who thinks that the situations that are being displayed in these pictures are hurting these animals obviously have no knowledge of what can or would hurt these animals. what may look like abuse is no more harmful to them than a fly would be to us. these animals are treated with the utmost respects and reverence by their owners
@stiglaa lets make the distinction between me (at 74 kg) and a relative small horse (at 400?). the ability to control a horse at times means that relative force must be applied, so don't go comparing treatment of humans and horses so naively. i should however clarify my comment by saying that not all owners and not ALL rodeos treat their horses with respect, but there are far too many people that would jump to the word 'abuse' without proper knowledge of how to break or ride a horse

There are no excuses for using electric prods on these animals to make them act wild. I saw a horse break it's leg in one of these videos and the assholes were forcing it to walk on the broken leg. THE RODEO NEEDS TO BE BANNED!
@linzee4584 the reason they bite the horses ear is to get it to calm down there's a prseurer point there in the ear that relaxes them some vet will have someone bite the ear of a horse if they can't cant get it to stand still to give it vaccination or do whatever they're trying to do so it just the same out in the arena just more hectic

There is plenty of evil in this world but rodeos are not the source of very much of it. You need to watch a rodeo from start to finish and see if it bears any resemblance to the video. I wonder how many rodeos the cameraman had to go to to find a guy mistreating the horse in the chute. I've never seen that and it is not representative of rodeos at all.
I actually didn't know it was this bad, I thought cowboys respected their animals. They scare horses to death and strangle calves, disgusting, I am genuinely appalled. Those calves are running for their lives only to be ripped back and almost have a snapped neck or get smashed into the ground. This definitely has to be stopped.

@designtransformation Because this is very rare. Nobody would spend hours watching cows get hurt. In fact, I've been to many rodeos and have not seen a cow or calf injured. The calf-roping doesn't hurt them as they have very strong necks so don't be thinking that it is cruel like bull-fighting or dog-fighting.

Rodeos aren't cruel, or abusive in any way. They CAN be, but most of the time they aren't if the rider knows what they're doing. If you've ever been to one or rode in one, you'd know that.

I've met very few people who believe that it is OK to boot a cow when it is down. However, I meet many people everyday who believe it is OK, even preferable, to kill unborn children. When I was young I used to laugh and cheer when the bulls crushed the cowboys, or the horses stomped on them, or the cows got away scott-free and then mauled their captors... my dad said it was because I was too young to understand how badly those guys were hurt. That wasn't it though. I just realized how wrong it was to be doing that to animals and loved it when they fought back and won. Now that I'm older, I laugh even louder and cheer even harder.

Just so y'all know. There is no way rodeo is abuse. Maybe the animal gets a hurt sometimes but that happens very rarely. America has roped and worked cattle for years. Im an animal lover but im not no peta person. I ride bulls for a living and i can tell you its not abuse!!! Ya some rodeos are bad but thats because of the riders. If you have good stock and good riders then you got yourself a good rodeo. I eat meat at least once a month. I eat deer, cow, pig, lamb, bird, elk, and any kind of meat

This is just one rodeo. Some rodeos are pretty bad ill admit but when you have the right people that know what therye doing the animals are very well takin care of. Ive been to the rodeo in Cheyenne and its pretty bad but the one where I live the animals are taken care of and not beaten and stuff like this. So just because this happens at one rodeo you cant blame us all. Also with the PBR those bulls durin winter are bein lazy. During summer they are hard at work and live longer.

I've never seen a calf carried off the grounds and I've been to several rodeos. I would say that the blood sports that people participate (extreme fighting and pornographic violence) lead me to believe that our society is heading back in that direction. Almost all of that is done by city dwellers, not the country people.

@stabbings Hi there. Most of the videos are of calves getting roped. Their necks are very strong and they can handle it. It is done all the time on the range and none of them have crooked necks. From what I have seen at rodeos, it is men that are the most frequently injured. Of course, that is of no concern to the animal rights zealots. They are only interested in animals feelings. REAL cattle ranchers, and no I do NOT mean factory feed-lot cattle, are NEVER handled roughly. I've watched calf-roping many times and after it is all over the calves trot back to the corral with the other calves like nothing ever happened. The Calgary Stampede is an event where real cowboys show off their skills that they often use on their ranch, with the exception of bull-riding. As a live spectator, I can see all the action and I don't "cut away" from the rest of the action.

ok as someone who has actually worked with these animals in both free range and rodeo situations, i can safely say that this is far from animal abuse. anyone who thinks that the situations that are being displayed in these pictures are hurting these animals obviously have no knowledge of what can or would hurt these animals. what may look like abuse is no more harmful to them than a fly would be to us. these animals are treated with the utmost respects and reverence by their owners

@stiglaa lets make the distinction between me (at 74 kg) and a relative small horse (at 400?). the ability to control a horse at times means that relative force must be applied, so don't go comparing treatment of humans and horses so naively. i should however clarify my comment by saying that not all owners and not ALL rodeos treat their horses with respect, but there are far too many people that would jump to the word 'abuse' without proper knowledge of how to break or ride a horse

I've met very few people who believe that it is OK to boot a cow when it is down. However, I meet many people everyday who believe it is OK, even preferable, to kill unborn children. Some even agree with infanticide if the child has a mental or physical defect. Now that is something you should be more concerned about. Man, not beast, is created in the image of God.

When I was young I used to laugh and cheer when the bulls crushed the cowboys, or the horses stomped on them, or the cows got away scott-free and then mauled their captors... my dad said it was because I was too young to understand how badly those guys were hurt. That wasn't it though. I just realized how wrong it was to be doing that to animals and loved it when they fought back and won. Now that I'm older, I laugh even louder and cheer even harder.

Just so y'all know. There is no way rodeo is abuse. Maybe the animal gets a hurt sometimes but that happens very rarely. America has roped and worked cattle for years. Im an animal lover but im not no peta person. I ride bulls for a living and i can tell you its not abuse!!! Ya some rodeos are bad but thats because of the riders. If you have good stock and good riders then you got yourself a good rodeo. I eat meat at least once a month. I eat deer, cow, pig, lamb, bird, elk, and any kind of meat

Would you, on a typical day, tie a rope around a child's neck and tie their arms and legs together and drag them across the ground in the dirt by the rope tied around their neck? In ANY beings case-that is cruelty and humiliation....and for what? Money and sick entertainment.

anyone who likes this, is sick. Any horse lover can clearly see them horses are suffering and obviously scared. A horse only resorts to it's fight instinct if there is no other option... And them poor calfs! how would all them americans like it if we did that to them! chucked them in the ring and catch them around the neck with a rope, see how painful it is. Even worse, do it to their kids... That would be child abuse... That's still a baby... Still a living thing! It's cruel and sick!

This is just one rodeo. Some rodeos are pretty bad ill admit but when you have the right people that know what therye doing the animals are very well takin care of. Ive been to the rodeo in Cheyenne and its pretty bad but the one where I live the animals are taken care of and not beaten and stuff like this. So just because this happens at one rodeo you cant blame us all. Also with the PBR those bulls durin winter are bein lazy. During summer they are hard at work and live longer.

@animals0feel1pain2 That is true. But in a rodeo, animals are rarely injured. You just saw the edited video of hundreds of rodeos. I've never seen a calf carried off the grounds and I've been to several rodeos. I would say that the blood sports that people participate (extreme fighting and pornographic violence) lead me to believe that our society is heading back in that direction. Almost all of that is done by city dwellers, not the country people.

@stabbings Hi there. Most of the videos are of calves getting roped. Their necks are very strong and they can handle it. It is done all the time on the range and none of them have crooked necks. From what I have seen at rodeos, it is men that are the most frequently injured. Of course, that is of no concern to the animal rights zealots. They are only interested in animals feelings. There is more to the story than what you can see by looking at an edited and very biased video. Cheers!

REAL cattle ranchers, and no I do NOT mean factory feed-lot cattle, are NEVER handled roughly. When they are roped, the calf can hit the end of the line, but he isn't encouraged to RUN into the choke hold. Stick to truths you know something about, whatever that is. Maybe accounting.

I've watched calf-roping many times and after it is all over the calves trot back to the corral with the other calves like nothing ever happened. The Calgary Stampede is an event where real cowboys show off their skills that they often use on their ranch, with the exception of bull-riding. As a live spectator, I can see all the action and I don't "cut away" from the rest of the action.

predictions are predictions, we still have things like carbon dating and the simple existence of fossils to prove that the world is older than 6000 years old.

Fossils can be formed rapidly during a cataclysm like a world-wide flood. When animals die naturally, they decay so there wouldn't be much of a fossil but there are billions of complete fossils.

The black holes will then suck in the universe and the process will begin again. An explosion of atoms results in an earth with an inorganic soup. Lightening mixed with chemicals produces amino acids which then produce life. Problem is, none of this can be proven and lab simulations have only created amino acids of chloroform, not proteins
