  • Just a hint.. Next time if you want to record a video that shows graphics try a screen recorder and not a camerea....

  • @Biflos6699

You obviously missed the part where this was a benchmark, didn't you?

Why people don't pay attention? *sigh*

  • PACMAN! xD

  • shouldn't there be 8 threads?

  • @mitko1251

The Q9550 does not support hyper threading.

  • Overclocking is really shit.

  • wooaah.. the fact that my upcoming system will be oh so much better than this.. makes me jizz man, it's gonna be epic :3

  • @Godisen007

With me it's, like, my gf makes me jizz, usually..

  • @michicaust Oh yeah, touché m8

  • would my msi p45 neo 2 fir run that cpu ant 4.1 ghz???

  • Nobody can answer that. Not all mobos are the same and not all cpus (even of the same brand, make, model and batch) either!

The fact remains that the Q9550 is an excellent overclocker. In most mobos with more tha 8 phase VRM, there's a 90% chance that it will go to 4.0Ghz.

I have found, that 4.0Ghz is much easier than 4.1Ghz, even if that 100Mhz difference sounds too little.

  • Hi there, I'm currently having C2D E6700 as my cpu and xfx gtx285 as vga. I'm thinking about changing the cpu to this one. Is it worth getting? And how much performance boost will I get if I switch to q9550? Thanks for all advices.

  • Hello.

I wouldn't be getting the Q9550 unless i wanted to overclock the hell out of it, which i did.

Your CPU runs at 2660Mhz if iam not mistaken and the Q9550 runs at 2830Mhz. Also the Q9550 has much more L2 cache.

In single or dual threaded games you will see about 10% to 20% more performance. In games that can make use of more than two cpu threads, you will see much more increase.

The good thing about the Q9550 is that it overclocks like crazy on air. A great mobo is a must though.

  • i got a Q9550 but i am trying to find the a good motherboard for overclocking. what would you suggest for under £100?

  • What kind of overclock do you have in mind?

  • 3.6ghz+ would be nice. i was thinking of getting the MSI P45 Platinum. always been a fan of MSI.

  • Well for 3.6Ghz you will be ok with most P45 mobos. For more than that, i'd suggest to look for P45s with at least 8phase cpu vrm.

  • OC your E6700....but i think u never beat my E6300 @ 3,6 GHz XDD

but its only the max...normaly he runs at 3,2GHz without Vcore increase. ur CPU should this do ,too maybe @ 3,4 without vcore increase.

But for games is not really needed to update to an Quadcore, only GTA4 need that, cause its programmed bad.

An E8400 @ 5GHz would beat this Q9550 in Crysis every time, cause the Cryengine 2 doesnt really support quadcores.

CryEngine 2 needs almost an C2D @ 3GHz, thats enought for 50 FPS

  • wen u can change the Cpu becuse u are bottlenecking with a low end cpu

  • where is your 4770

    greetz

  • The 4770 was never mine. I just built a PC for a friend and made some videos while being at it. I have given it to him already!

  • hehe ok im understand

  • what ring tone was that?

  • Pacman! Used for incoming SMS.

  • How did you get your video to get to "watch in HD"? Do you need like an HD monitor or something?

  • You need to have recorded the video in at least 1280X720, or more, in the first place!

After that, you upload it on Youtube and their servers do the rest. First you get the low res version and after a few hours the HD is available too!

  • wth. y is it replaying over and over again?

  • That's how you run the benchmark with the benchmark tool. It needs 3 runs or more to show more correct results.
