  • im suscribing =)

  • How do you feel about white folks?

  • which ones?

  • Lady, you are on point, keep doing vids!

I wish I could shop black but London England is more backward than Arkansas and there are loads of us here waiting for Bill Cosby , let alone a Barrack.

Come to London sis, you ' be surprised how calm we are here even as we get whipped by capitolism daily and hey - Slavery was the ultimate capitolism of its time and capitolism hasnt gone away.

  • agree!!

  • you are so right!

  • Do you have any suggested websites for black clothing? Thanks for your videos.

  • @billingsleymeister mooshood, yadiyda

  • Also,Thank you for bringin up the fact that some of us like to scrutinize black owned business more harshly than we would any other business. Its like some of us question the prices at a black business put then pay without a second thought when shopping elsewhere. Some of us will go and patronize all kinds of stores and not ask for breaks, but assume that the black owned business HAS to cut you a break.

  • I live in Bed Stuy, a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood and its sad to see that there aren't very many black owned businesses here. And with the influx of new residents, that will surely be made even worse. Its happened to Harlem, and its happening in Brooklyn.

  • How often to you shop "Black", do you attempt to keep the positive energy towards B.F?

  • I shop Black nearly every day. I treat folks with respect and that is what I get. I don't go into BOB with a negative preconception. In fact, I go in with exuberance because I love black people and are happy to see us flourish. As I have said before, negative attracts negative in most cases. This has been my experience.

  • Wow Amazing.I just had this conversation today with one of my caucasion clients. She said why do blacks have so many issues with each other. I said umm I guess it depends. Then they went on the say that we are always trying to out do each other, we have high prices, some are not professional sometimes and wonder why we mistreat each other. I couldnt answer him. Because one of my clients in behind in payments and she act as if its my fault. Not sure why we are like this. NEGATIVE ENERGY?

  • I would never allow any white person to have this type of conversation with me. For one to act as if we are the only ones experiencing this is absurd. Yeah, we got some cultural baggage that plays into his whole thing, but don't get it twisted. I would have put that ass in check quick by giving them a mirror of his/her own damn community. Don't even get me started on the MANY, MANY examples I would point out. Hmph ... Amazing.

  • Now on to some of the points you posted in your comments. The characteristics you pointed out are HUMAN traits. Not just actions that are particular to Black folks. I have worked in corporate America. When it comes to trying to out do each other, that is a fallacy that effects all folks. That includes Ken and Barbie too.

  • As for the so called high prices, folks charge what the item or services call for. The price is the price. Either one can afford it or not. I don't think folks outside of the business world understand what goes into pricing. Why would we not want to pay each other top dollar? Our stuff is just as valuable. Yet some of us will pay Jane with no questions asked. I can either buy or keep stepping. But being Black has nothing to do with it.

  • One last note. We ain't the only ones slipping on our payments. That is one lesson this economy has taught us. The emperor is naked and everyone can see. Negative energy abounds in many neighborhoods. Not just the Black ones. I think once we realize that we are just as human as everyone else, we will then stop putting the ridiculous negative labels on our own communities as if we are some science project in a petri dish. We are human. Not an anomaly.

  • AMEN...and a great video!

    " Tell it."

  • Preach it, sista! You speak the truth and I appreciate your strong words.

  • Hear, hear!!!!

  • ***continued.. Please be advised that I am not bashing, I am simply giving you a different perspective in one situation. I think that if they get back to the basics and make professionalism the standard then they will see their businesses grow. I am a hairstylist not a barber and now it's like we have to step in as barbers. When people rent a booth they forget that the customer is still the boss.

  • good video

  • PREEEACH MY SISTA!!

  • I wish I lived in an area where I could only shop black, but they are lacking in my area. My father and I continue to have this conversation, he's always talking smack about black businesses and about the only Black businesses in our area are beauty and barber shops. He's never been to a black business outside of the barber shop he's been going to for over 20 yrs. He's just circulating what he hears other ppl. saying. It's crazy. So many think like him.

  • Our ancestors fought for us to have the right to vote, but WE didin't vote until Obama ran for office.

  • That is not true. Many Black folks have been voting. As a whole America needs to do better when it comes to voting.

  • u damn nutt u had customers and just kept talking lolol GREAT VID THO!!!!

  • LOL! No, that was friend of mine.

  • @ 6:10, I have never said those words in any of my videos. I am not saying you said I have, it just seemed implied. I also never said that Blacks should not buy black. I explained why Blacks stopped buying black.

I look in the mirror everyday. I also do my share to teach those who seek to good, how. My only regret is that I waited.

I don't have to Proclaim the good that blacks do. Their proclamation comes from the rewards of their own labor.

I agree with the end of your video.

    Peace.

  • I think this black Gender War stem from the lack of black own businesses! Think about if their were more black own business would there be more blacks at work than in jail? Less single black mothers? A more stable black family? the lack money in the black community will cause social problems!

  • Wow|That T-shirt , the words, start to really think about unity not that I don't|

  • Peace Kween

I love the fact that you brought up the point of how we are placed under the microscope when we make the conscious decisions to support our people. I personally feel that we need to up our support of one another. We are a powerful people, especially economically. But we would rather spend our money with Europeans, Chinese, Arabs and any other race in the rainbow vs. our own people. This is a sickness that needs to be addressed.

  • Great Video ATLSIS I'm a Proud Card carrying of the Proud to be African American Club. 5stars !!!

  • 5 stars

We all know white america dont want to see us unified. If we ever start coming together america will have a price to pay and white america knows this, they are scared of this.

  • As far as I know, no we're not scared of that. Please do unify. But what's the "price" that we'd have to pay for more Americans prospering?

  • Please elaborate on that question.

  • As always, a great, educated & eye opening vlog. I totally agree with you.

  • Great video

I love my black people but there are some that don't like their own skin! I did a video some months ago asking this question, why black business don't survived? I received a lot of good response and a few video response from this video.

  • oh I meant to say I want that tshirt hanging on the wall behind you, where can I buy one? Thanks

  • Why not buy it from AtlantaSistah? Maybe she has a website.

  • Maybe:-) Thats why I asked.

  • LOL! i don't have a website. But I have few shirts left. I'll send you a email through YT.

  • cool, thanks:-)

  • You answered your own question, "when the playing field is even we always rise to the top" the reason we are so critiqued for our apparant unity is because of fear. They know if we ever get it together we will rule the world:-)

  • I think at the core we have it more together han some folks thing ... than we even think. BUT the negative speech keeps folks confused and disheveled. Folks have got to learn how to differentiate between truth and misconceptions.

  • I agree totally!

  • Hello

I have been watching your video's for a while and i have been wondering if you will show some items in your store in video and let us email you to purchase???

  • It is no longer in anyones best interest business-wise to have a class of people unable to consume more. Racism is no longer in capitalism's best interest.

  • great vid and i will always watch your vids

  • Great video as usual. It is a solid belief of mines that the greatest issue facing Black America is a self-esteem issue. We have a hard time thinking - and acting - positively to each other. I also applaud the Chicago family for taking a stance towards our economic empowerment. BTW: Nice earrings. peace

  • Well, you proved this last point in the styatements you have made on this video. Thanks for weighing in.

  • I see where you're coming from but I am not optimistic about the prospect of "black" or any ethnically centred business in America today.

Meaning, if one goes to a small business other than a large chain then they are likely going to be charged more simply because the the small business is forced to purchase their goods at a higher cost as they do not have the capital or capacity to buy (cheaper) stock in the required large quantities.

    Most AA inherently seek bargains.

    Non-conducive reality.

  • I was having a talk with a friend of mine about racism just today,& we both agreed racism comes from ALL sides of the fence. (Im white, theyre black).

This may be slightly off topic but kindof touches on where you were going with this (sorry if it doesnt). I believe we are all equal,& am tired of skin color seperating us as ONE, as a human race as a WHOLE. Again sorry if this doesnt make sense just getting some thoughts out..

BTW I enjoy your vids and really respect you as a strong woman.

  • I feel you on this. In college I was asked why do "we(blacks) sit at the same table for lunch". I asked back why do to you sit at the table you sit at. That was the end of the that discussion. We do need to be more positive. I loved it when I was able to shop at a black hair care and record shop. I am sad that they are now closed. We need more unity especially in this recession. Great video as usual. :)

  • holla im feeling you!!!!

  • This is one of your best!

  • Another great video. I personally do most of my business with black businesses. I always have because my parents always did. I wish more of us would do that also.

  • This is some Real Talk :)

  • Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed listening. Take care and God bless!

  • Another Great Video.
