  • Thats good power and without heads nice . A bro how was this as a daily driver do you recommend this cam ?

  • i made more power than that with the smaller 228r @ 114lsa through an auto.

  • nice camaro im lookin into the ms3 and almost decided on it. you don't have to upgrade the lifters right? you think making around 420whp is achievable with full boltons with an a4 with 4.10 gears and 3500 stall on stock heads ? maybe it comes down to tuning and what not

  • @hooknbookls1 you would need a bigger cam than a MS3 to make 420 through an A4

  • @mynuffinfutsitch yeah probably, I think anything more aggressive would be hard to daily drive with stock heads. but I don't have a camaro anymore. =(

  • what clutch are you running to hold the power? mine is hard to shift at high rpm pedal kind of stays on the floor, till I pump it after a run, around town it's alright though, only a problem when I get on it.

  • thanks for the 411, I have tried to help it idle but it's running too rich my garage get's full of fumes, kinda hard to breathe. I can't move the car out since I have the rear end out and I'm doing the ls1 brake swap, it's a 69 chevelle m6 I hope I get good results with that cam.

  • did you have to tune it in order to get it to idle at first? I have the same cam and it wont idle with the stock ecm tune unless I keep the rpm's up

  • @WS6LS It would run after i helped it idle for a little bit. I have an older video on here of it idling untuned. Its the video in the dark. it idled much much better after the tune. ur also not supposed to run them very hard untuned, like keep it under 4k.

  • @ccook305 y did you take the heads off?

  • @mynuffinfutsitch to change the lifters and head gaskets

  • Good job! Looks like it worked out well for you, I went with the ms4 on my build.

  • Good results. I put the MS3 and the stage 2.5 5.3L heads on my 2000 SS and got 441rwhp and 392 rwtrq with the ls-6 intake and a speed density tune. With a 125 wet shot also made 572hp and 618 ft lbs.

  • sounds nice man, you live in missouri?

  • no, illinois. but only 30 minutes or so from the river

  • Why is it on the ls1's that you have to pull the heads to get the lifters out?

  • because the engine is a completely different design than the gen I or II chevy engines. the heads cover them, as well as there being a plastic lifter guide that has to be removed and the bolts for them are directly under the head gaskets. if you look in my video at the picture of the short block you can see the lifter pockets and how the heads would cover them in the earlier picture where only the intake is removed.

  • @ccook305 Did you drop a lifter? otherwise why did you take the heads off to begin with?

  • @JamesSS69RS I put the LS7 lifters in so you have to take the heads off in order to do that.

  • you took the heads off for what reason??

  • you have to pull the heads to change the lifters. and I wanted to put new head gaskets in.

  • Ahh ok. I wasn't sure what the reason was.

  • NIce set up! The flyby sounds SWEET!
