It was 1979, I was 17 years old...standing at a bus stop on the side of the road, waiting for the Greyhound to take me away. "Leaving home ain't easy but may be the only way" indeed.
Queen always had those great sleeper songs that never got played on the radio. But us true Queen fans would always find them. I still have all of Queens albums.
@QueenReigns1 I also thought those were missing. Interesting fact: "Dreamer's Ball", also on this album, was written by Brian May as a tribute to Elvis Presley (according to wiki).
I have no doubt that the queen of the '70s, is the best thing that ever happened to the music not only rock, but the music genereal. compositional complexity, proud and beautiful melodies, rich vocal harmonies, different arrangements layers, musical diversity, a never-before-seen production methods
1st of March is Justin Bieber's birthday. This little roach has been infecting the whole world. Because of him, the world of rock is extincting.
So on his birthday, we all will go to his "Baby" official video and push the 'dislike' button so that the 'dislike' bar becomes 10 times bigger than the 'like' bar.
If you are a rock fan, join with me and thumbs up me, copy-paste this message to all rock videos. We have six months to unite and fight against this little cockroach
Wow, Brian's guitar works really sounds like violins on this one.... and the actual song sounds very Beatles-ish too, it sure is a nice one... always loved Brian's voice, sounds so peaceful...
This is a great song and I never heard it before.A very special person send it to me tonight and I love him so very much...I hope we can make it.Ich liebe dich Jens
ABSOLUTELY love the full overdubbed guitar sound Brian gets combined with the harmonies to make it a nice big production, as in all Queen songs! Wot a rich sound Queen got. Sad that music lacks this nowadays
I bnought all the Queen albums and thought that was the weakest up to that point. To say I have a lot to learn is just a stupid thing to say. You have to qualify your statement.
Apologies my friend,I assumed you were less knowledgable about the band.Jazz was the album which turned me into a Queen nut so I find it hard to understand why a fellow fan would rate it badly but we all have our favourites. All the best.
every album is different...every album can't be like the previous one..it can't be 1974 forever unfortunately...my fav. is Queen II but enjoy them all cakehole...they all bring just a little something different...how is Dead on Time off Jazz weak shitbreath?????? Is a pretty stupid thing to say cakehole...I'll qualify the statement...you probably weren't even alive in the 70s...wannabe...
Everybody has their opinion Greenthigh and you are most certainly allowed yours. For me though as a fan that was there from the beginning of Queens music ( yes, I am that old ~ sigh ~ ) JAZZ was a culmination of all their past album attempts. They were pulling flavors from off of this album, a little splash off of that one, maybe just a little dab off of that one. JAZZ was kinda like a grab bag of sorts. It's definately up their among my favorites in regards to the entire collection.
true... Jazz album is great...like this song...I'm that old too...what happened to all the great music of the 70's ha?????...music since like '85 has sucked out loud...musicians just don't know how to rock anymore and it's quite horrible to say and see...bring back the 70s ha...
@1974queen Hey feel lucky, atleast you got to enjoy the 70's! lol Theres not a day i dont wish i had been born in '61 like my mother, who always makes sure she reminds me how awesome the 70' were! I got to be a teen in the '90's, WTF - that music was crap, and todays music is even worst! God bless the likes of Queen and Elton John - true legends.
I can sing this song like a sumbitch. I'll finish it and my wife and two girls will applaud. Am I patting myself on the back ? Well it's eviident enough isn't it ?
My sister ordered this for me from a record club. I asked her for "The Game." She forgot the title and ordered this instead. I absolutely wore this record out when I got it. It is the best Queen album. There will never be another band like them. God bless 'em! Thanks for the post.
As much as I admire Brian's amazing musicianship, I must agree with the others that he is underrated. For the genius guitarist and composer that he is, it's very rare that you'll hear or see his name mentioned in "Best Guitarist" lists. This is a fantastic track, and underrated as many of his others.
i love this song, it might be my favorite queen song. i really like brian may's vocals. i wish he sang a few more songs than he did. "'39" is a great song also. "jazz" is my favorite queen album, i always thought that it was underated. the naked girls on the bicycles are pretty cool too :)
