  • gran bella canzone!!

  • "Brian Eno told 'a Gospel song written by two atheists.'" I am a Christian and I love what they had done.

  • I liked this song before it was used in Wall Street, haven't seen Wall Street, and wouldn't have even known it was IN Wall Street if not for the top comments. :-|

  • <3

  • ...but I am still free.

  • "Tigers walk behind me,

They are to remind me, that,

I'm lost, but I'm not afraid - Ooohhohohhohh..."

    Amen.

  • wall street 2 !!

  • Well One down two to go. The one is the Cars, just reunited. Next, hopefully the Heads will get back together. Then lastly, I know i am dreaming but it would be nice to see Led Zeppelin get back for one more tour.

  • @LesSmith45: Let's hope. A Heads reunion would be wonderful. Would love to see them attempt to recreate the type of show they put on back in their heyday. Big suit and all haha!!!

  • my thoughts exactly..brilliant

  • Byrne and Eno have given us so many wonderful gifts over the past couple of decades. They have this uncanny ability to use their creative beats, stylish melodies, and meaningful lyrics to evoke powerful emotions in all of us. This song is one of the best I've heard from any artist over the past couple of years. These guys create human music, and we are the beneficaries.

  • Very nice..

  • I could listen to this song endlessly. It is non-stop awesome!!

  • I played when I'm driving all the time :)

  • wallstreet amazing moviee!

  • wall street 2: money never sleeps. amazing song + movie

  • However much I love the usage of this song in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, I can't help but think that The Kinks Sunny Afternoon, wouldn't have been more suitable somehow. Just opinon, and don't think I'm hating, I'm just saying.

  • @maxdude12 Yea buddie the Kinks. I am a huge fan of the kinks. Seen them in 1980. They were my favorite British Invasion band.

  • Wall Street Baby!!

  • sad thing is the masses rule, and unfortunately the masses are ignorant. thats the problem with so called " popular " music

  • MTV killed the video star...

  • Wall Street!

  • Loved the usage of this song in Wall Street.

  • @DDenDong16 thats how i heard his new music- great album

  • the mid 2000 to today has some of the worst music of today. bands and songs like these should not remain underground

  • Why use pictures from Pierrot Le Fou?

  • why are you begging for MTV when the radio has been stolen?

  • easily one of the best songs ever made

  • this song is beautiful!

  • wallstreet pictured the essence in an awsome wave

  • Thumbs up if you're here because of Wall Street

  • @sypha0x

    Best part of the movie

  • Wall Street

  • stone used byrne in the first wall street as well. "This must be the place". equally as good imo.

  • glad i watched Wall Street movie andi found this wonderful song, wow....money never sleeps!!!!!

  • Love this song. Love Anna Karina.

  • This Song is Amazing! One of the best songs I've ever heard!

  • Money Never Sleeps: Manhattan's slick metalic architecture slickly shot in a montage intercut with a cool twenty something leather jacket wearing oxymoronically environmentally enthused wall street capatilist riding the streets on his motorbike effortlessly embodying cool - all to the gorgeous sound of this cracking song. A very seductive advertisement for corporate city life. Well done, Oliver.

  • @stephentime100 certainly one of the most eloquent descriptions i've ever seen-well put

  • @stephentime100 Saving the environment can look cool. What could look cooler than keeping your cool while saving the world by, as it were, keeping it cool. Stone is a genius, as is Byrne.

  • funny 00000000 i agree with you and rap is my first love.since wutang and red man etc i aint in love with these no talent rappers as you say, david byrne is amazing

and these pricks like lil wayne etc,are shite,#

    chalky stoke on trent,peace

  • Money never sleeps guys !!

  • @benito75018 agreed! I hope they make a 3rd one. My friend didn't like the film but I can't stop eating it up.

  • agree to disagree... she may have hits but many ppl have hits who shouldnt. she may write but she cant sing for shit. i can be listed as a writer to, doesnt mean i'll be very good.

  • i just went to "Wall Street - Money Never Sleeps" and this is one of the theme songs for it!

  • i never tire of this song! : D

  • Byrne has a voice that makes you feel good about things,A grin breaks out whenever he starts to sing.

Hang your heads in shame anyone who buys todays shitty music excuses.

  • grand-tastic song!!!

  • what movie are these pictures from? i've been trying to figure this out

  • @xheartattack Pierrot le Fou

  • IS THERE ANYWHERE I CAN LEARN THIS ON GUITAR?!?!

  • this is the greatest song of all time

  • Comment removed

  • Such great lyrics and great production.

  • this song rocks!!!

  • I love this song. Nothing else I can say to describe how I feel about it.

  • I love that David Byrne is still making music in this day and age that makes me feel nostalgic. I can't help but think of the beautiful wide open shots of deserts and small suburban areas that helped the Talking Heads be one of my favorite 80s memories.

  • Love this song!! It's just so positive...

it reminds me of my cute boyfriend, Boo!!

I love you, Boo!! Thanks for making my life brighter.. =)

  • One of the greatest, most uplifting songs I've heard in a while. I have to get it.

  • chain me down. but i am still free.

  • A beautiful song makes me smile every time i hear it

  • sweet song...

best of my friends, best of!!!

  • i love this song, cannot stop listening to it,check out the whole album everything that happens will happen today, its very good !!!

  • I neede that song today... I feel uplifted! ^_^ Very beautiful!

  • i like this song

  • I put the CD in my car stereo and it took me a couple of months to really love. Now I think this is one of the better album that I have

  • Such an awesome song. It's sad that I only just recently found out who wrote/sang it. As someone else said it's really a pity that some of the best singers and song writers, well, fade away.

  • I definitely agree with you that it's sad that many of the really good artists we have today aren't getting the airplay and recognition they deserve yet so many of the awful hip hoppers are getting all the recognition, they play this song on our Satellite Feed at our retail store

  • Hip-hop is not what you hear on the radio. You hear main stream rap.

  • hey is this picture from a Goddard flick?

  • Yes, "Pierrot Le Fou"

  • Man, I wish MTV didn't suck anymore. It is a real shame older people (such as Byrne) who was once a music video pioneer can't get the air play he deserves.

This music is 1000 times better than most "hits" on the radio today yet it sort of remains "underground".

If he did videos like he did in the 1980's (and if MTV would play them) he would be bigger than all of those no-talent rap acts and other junk people buy today.

So sad what the industry has become. Anyone agree?

  • yes, agreed, 100 per cent !

  • not really, when good music is underground it kinda makes it even more rewarding when you find a little hidden gem. while there is plenty of shit out there there's also some great pop tunes amongst all the crap...

  • I agree not all new music is crap. I like a wide range of music. There is ton a new music that is great.

It is just that I see someone like Lil Wayne make a song that is ridiculous and everyone buys it. Half his rhymes don't even rhyme.

  • Yeah i guess its just taste, perhaps Lil Wayne isnt the best M.C. the world has ever known but rap doesn't have to rhyme either.. I dont think we're gonna reach any ground breaking conclusions on the state of music as art. Oh well, think I'll just listen to this song again...ah thats better,

  • All I can say is David Byrne and Talking Heads make the best music ever.

Yeah I will listen again as well. That is better.

  • @funny0000000 AMEN

  • @funny0000000 I sure as hell do.

More people should know this sort of music. This is an absolutely fantastic song. My favorite off 'Everything That Happens'.

  • @funny0000000 its all the mainstream fans with no music taste.... they eat up whats new and popular just because it is, without ever realizing theres no depth or value. the reason why these trends cme and go is cause theyre not real artists. and real artists reinvent themselves every cpl yrs causing them to last longer than any jonasbros or lady caca.... damn im ramblin

  • @jackblacksutube I just don't see it exactly that way. Sure DB and Talking Heads are my all time favorite but not all new music is bad. Times and trends change.

What is a "real artist"? Listen to the Lady Gaga song "Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)" and tell me that she is not a real artist. She did write it, her real name is listed as a writer.

She has MANY hits and people like her.

I can't comment on the Jonas Brothers because I know almost nothing about them but I think the 1 writes.

  • @funny0000000

    as Bob Dylan quoted:

    The Times They Are a-Changin'

  • @funny0000000

    yeezy for president

  • @funny0000000 i definitely agree with what your saying in regards to MTV and pop culture today - it has become complete garbage. But saying that rappers have no talent is as ignorant of the truth as someone saying music on MTV today is complete music brilliance. granted there are numerous rappers that are complete garbage as well, but there are so many out there that are unbelievable lyricists and poets. ones that would blow bands such as these out of the water in terms of lyrics/meaning

  • @soufwudnation Read other replies below. I have defended Lady Gaga and all. I did not mean "all rap" acts are no talent but in the past 10 years most of them are. Check my favorites to see I like all types of music: new, old, rap, ect.

I also buy some of the "junk" I called "junk" in my comment. I wrote a comment that became top rated as I always do but if you dissect every word it is like when John Lennon sang "if you talk about destruction you can count me out......in".

    Just enjoy it all

  • @soufwudnation While I agree with you that there are lots of really talented rappers.. I just cant put them on the same level as great singer/poets. A rapper can write a rhyme... and it can be put over dozens of beats. They have to worry about text and rhythm. Great singers worry about text, rhythm *and* melody. The advantage for rappers is that the style is more "wordy". You can fit more meaning into a song. But if you look at a "wordy" singer... I think there is no comparison. IMHO.

  • @funny0000000 Totally, totally!

  • @funny0000000 You are so true. So true

  • @funny0000000 'Tis a wasteland for sure. A most uninspiring skyline. The desertification of pop culture.

  • @funny0000000 if your idea of the music industry is MTV alone, then I think you've missed the point.. this song was in a feature film, what is sad about that? there are musicians out there who get far less notice than David Byrne and Brian Eno.

  • i don't get why i am so emotionally attatched to Everything that happens will happen today. but this song especially, i feel like it's my theme or something =)

  • its because ... well david byrne is awesome? and most if not all of the album is relatable. this song just sounds like its about something holding people back or holding them down. kinda sounds like a metaphor for prison of some kind chains and bars and all. idk but it just sounds awesome and its even better watching the performers do their little dance.

  • why am i looking at these photos?

  • why not?

  • I like you

  • oh my :D

  • oh, ok.

  • love this song. one of my favorites from the live show.

  • Fantastic song
