  • You should have some familiarization shooting with your non-dominant hand. There is more than one incident where the dominant hand has been disabled during a confrontation.

Ideally you also want to stand back from the barricade so that you expose less of yourself during shooting.

  • What about shooting left handed and with the left eye when you come out on the left side of the barricade?

  • If you are right eye dominant shooting with your left eye is pointless. If time is any type of issue, transitioning to your left hand takes time, and if you are right-handed it is more difficult to shoot left-handed anyway. Switching hands also presents an opportunity to drop the weapon. So IMHO, not the best idea. But one could give a try, just for kicks.
