  • To all those who say they can't see why this is a tutorial, you clearly can't use your ears to pick out the notes...

  • Im learning piano all by myself and I already know how to play clare de lune (one of my favorites pieces for piano) and i´ve only played like for 2 years and my progress it´s a lot thanks to you so I love that you are still doing these tutorials. Now how do you recomend the practice of these piece to get all of it right?.

  • @angelasofialopez it depends on our standards. hitting the right notes is not good enough. touch, feeling and expression are important components. in most cases, one needs a real teacher to learn correctly. if one doesn't have a real teacher, watch/ listen to concert artists performing the piece, and learn from them. but most importantly, have fun! :)

  • What grade is this?

  • @callumhalo level 7. always read my video descriptions :)

  • @bbdhrggl I know you said level 7 but some people use levels (which are different to grades, in this case i was wrong)

  • @callumhalo my levels are just guesses, that one with 7 yrs of serious playing can learn this easily.

  • @callumhalo it was a grade 8 exam piece in 06

  • What lovely hands you have :-)

  • Awesome* !!!Thank U sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ;) Much!!!!!!

  • Thanks for sharing your talent and time. These videos help a lot. =)

  • thanks for the tutorial, your fingerings are very helpful, every time I search a song I want to learn you pop up with the tutorial

  • ???????huh??????

  • Godjob :-)

  • Thank You so much for making this video..

  • hey i've been working on it and it seems like the part that is at the middle of the first page when the rhythm has triplets in one hand and eighth notes in the other sounds just like what i was doing before...are you positive it's right??

  • @cvrich123 not sure what you mean, but quite sure what I played is right :) You should do whatever your sheets say. we might have different versions.

  • thank you so much for thie video- there is part of this song that i always have the hardest time on and this video answers everything!

  • i learned liz on top of the world from pride and prejudice and love that song! thank you for your videos there amazing

  • despite what those people have said it is quite possible to learn music from a vid like this with no notes im 14 and have been playin by ear since i was 8 and im learning notes but only started 2 months ago your videos help me to figure out notes i cant by just listening and they have helped me to learn many songs i wouldnt have been able 2 otherwise.

i am learning this song successfully and was wondering if you had advice on how i should keep learning music by ear or by notes?

  • @pianoclassicalluver each has its own important advantages, so it is great that you can do both.

  • The line starting at 5:22 is difficult for me at full speed. My sheet music says to use the 4th and 5th finger to hit the thirds. I notice you use your 3rd and 5th, but are you able to do that at full speed?

  • @blindlyisay In my tutorials I try my best to obey the editor's fingering. Editions vary. In Chopin editions, not only will you find different fingering, you will find different notes.

A pianist explained to me that because our hand structures differ, fingering that suits one might not be suitable for another. I.e.,, do what you find comfortable. I must caution you though, whenever I rebelled against an editor's fingering, I always stumbled. She uses white-out, a pianist told me recently.

  • i was really struggling with the section 0:54 - 1:28. this really helped me a lot. thanks!!!

  • Thank you so much for this! Really appreciate you for doing this. =)

  • wow this helps so much!!! Thanks!!! the triplets confuse me so much

  • its not possible to learn such a song from a video that doesnt eve at least give you the note ¬_¬ I just about got up to Ab which is quite a suprise.

Are there any videos out there that DO give you the notes!! because this is bloody frustrating

  • @arancienne if you want to play serious classical music, you must learn to read music. I made 3 fun and easy lessons to get you started. are you going to at least try? if not, do not blame others for not being able to learn piano.

  • @bbdhrggl Ouch =/ No need to be so harsh. And yes I am learning to read music,in fact I CAN read music but I can't find the sheet music for this particular song, so SORRY for trying to find an alternative.

    You are a bad "teacher".

  • @arancienne you have a poor attitude. at least you read music. there is a good place for classical sheets. imslp.

  • @bbdhrggl I have poor attitude do I? Well you would know ¬_¬

  • @arancienne Dude you're a Dbag. Are you paying this person for lessons? No, you're not, so don't bitch and moan like she owes you something, and train your ear a little bit.

  • @arancienne I think that she is a great teacher. Just because you are too dumb to follow along and copy her hands doesnt make her a bad teacher. This obviously isnt your way of learning things. This was really helpful for me and i play the HARP. She clearly announced the rhythm and beats. Making it easy to follow along with the music. Thank you @bbdhrggl this was very helpful

  • how is this a tutorial?

  • @imdabomliketictock perhaps viewers will answer you

  • @imdabomliketictock haha I mean he's playing the piece pretty slowly, what else do you want, he could be playing fast and just expecting you to know it, basically mimic what he's doing and if you know how to read sheet music, this tutorial is actually great

  • I'm confused at the part at 00:54 when you are ascending from the e and you get to the triplets. Aren't the triplets supposed to be in one beat. What I'm trying to say is, how do you get the timing down for that part?

  • @amazingwave the RH is playing three notes against the LH's two notes. Follow the score even if you can't read well yet. It will help you understand what you are playing.

  • Thank you, thank you thank you! This helps me tremendously! =]

  • thx man, i waz having difficulty playing the triplits with the quavers,, its kinda like inbetween . thx again!

  • Great job!

  • thank you so much for doing this! I really appreciate this. I have heard and loved this piece. I see that not many people have not responded to this video, but i would like to make up for all of them. THANKS SO MUCH! I tried learning of of this picturish type of video, but I failed utterly. I was also thinking if you could do something like this for other classical pieces such as moonlight sonata, fantasie impromptu, toccata and fugue, etc. Thanks again!!!

  • @joshrocks006 Thank you. Responses are neither expected nor necessary. My tutorials are made for the one person who requested it. If others can use it, that is a bonus. Glad you liked it. Please visit my Monkey site song page. I've already made ones you mentioned. The next I do will be a classical piece.

  • *last five years
