  • Great song. Graham Bonnett's voice is amazingly powerful, he was also great with Rainbow.

  • I would love someone to point out to me which notes are falsetto here,

Graham hits every note in his natural modal voice, there is not a single falsetto

note in this. Incredible singer with an incredible voice.

  • @1949ster that`s right !!!!

  • can barely tell its Bonnett he is so young here

  • i bought the single when i was a kid a long time before blackmore vai malmsteen msg & impelliteri

  • @pastore909 Yup. He never soundded better than here in his hey-day!

  • wow, superb voice!! He reaches those high notes without any difficulty. Graham has always been my favorite singer!

  • What a voice!!! What a MAN!! One of a kind? You bet he is!!!!!!!!!! Bought this back in 1968 & it was never off my old Dansette record player! Still have it somewhere. Still luv it!

  • @annep54 ....Dansette, remember the good times. In my opinion from 1964 till 1970 was seriously hard to beat.

Was there a better record than This Old Heart of Mine?

You could probably think of ten....or could you?

  • What a voice! Sensational song long forgotten

  • What a voice , what a voice, its a pity he is not here today , he could say he was 18 years old and gay , he might then win the x factor

  • @TheNigelc8 why where has Graham gone? as far as I know he is still with us and active in the music scene.

  • Krásná písnička. Škoda, že podobných nebylo víc.

  • Legendary song & voice!!

  • This is the most aewsome song ever!!!!!

  • Brilliant...went on to sing with Rainbow....Superb Voice

  • I am a women, and I LOVE this song too

  • La mujer que sale bailando en el vídeo... da vergüenza ajena.

Por cierto, Bonnet espectacular en esta canción ;)

  • I'd forgottenjust how good this song is ...Thank you xox

Never mind who sings what or how

    Just enjoy it ....... :D

  • He looks great,he sings amazing, and it is so walk in the park for him, will never get tired of him and this song, for me it don,t get no better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, love it. I've always loved Graham Bonnet's singing - not heard this before - thanks for the upload

  • graham bonnet was the best, absolutely no doubt, and i still dont think there has been another

and his solo stuff was and is impeccable

  • graham bonnet was the best, absolutely no doubt, and i still dont think there has been another

  • WHAT a voice... wow.... its a shame they only had 1 major hit

  • mon service militaire en Allemagne 1968

  • Saw Graham when he toured with Rainbow in the 80's, his voice retained the same characteristics, excellent singer.

  • * * * * *

  • Thanks for the song. I miss my mother. I love you Mom.

  • Bonnet's best stuff in my opinion. And the Gibb brothers rule. I love their sense of melody.

  • I didnt know hugh Jackman had such a great voice LOL...The Bonnet rules. Check out his alacatrazz stuff with Malmsteen, awesome stuff!!!!!

  • What a voice. Wow , Fantastic

  • lovely song,

  • This is such a beautiful song, absolutely love it!!

  • fantastic.. a real classic...

  • My all-time favourite song and vocal. Period.

  • Fantastic, incredible vocal but I think The Walls Fell Down is a better song.

  • Yeah, that´s Graham Bonnet! Keeping always better and better!

  • i never gived attention to the second voice... specially in the 2nd part of the song it give something more than if it was just simply Bonnett's voice... Graham do the main job here...but he made me forgive... the discret and subtle 2nd voice... who is this 2nd man ? ...

Everybody talk about Graham...with reason... but the other member of the band here diserve much more than the average 10 % of people here who talk bout him vs the 90 % for Bonnett... the smart guy take all the cover here :)

  • This song is fucking fantastic, it's brilliant!

  • It is not so much the notes that he reaches, but he makes it look like a walk in the park?? He makes it look so easy!! Lovely song Lovely voice? A true one off!!

  • Possibly ended up as the shoutiest bloke in rock! Who really cares about all that pompous E5 CDsomething bollocks? He just sounds good

  • @daffonfire How is that pompous? It's simple vocal terminology, a reference to the notes in each octave.

  • @daffonfire Who doesn't care? It is always interesting to hear singers' feats with their voices.

  • Wonderful!! Bloody Wonderful!! Do we really understand how many Great voices were around in the 60s? I'm talking about people who had 1 or 2 hit records but could have sung a 1000 hit songs!! Quick 3 of them, Graham Bonnet. John Tebb. Terry Reid!

  • Great vocal and loved and still love this song also b side by the light of the burning candle was real good still got the vinyl

  • His voice got a little "gravelly" as he aged, but he will always be a better singer than his critics!

  • The most incredible voice!!

  • Great song ..Great voice.

  • Wow, love this song and this singer is gorgeous! Great to see a real original video clip, rare these days.

  • how come ritchie got all these singers

  • My God another song penned by the Bee Gees. Another new discovery for me. I think they and Paul Mac must be among the most prolific song writers in history! Most definitely genius's from the Beethoven mould.

  • Why isn't this one on Spotify? Stupid Alien cover is no 1 there... Grahams voice has always induced goosebumps.

  • This was actually the first of 2 UK hits.

The other was The Walls Fell Down peaking at #28 in 1969

  • Haven't heard this in years!!!! And turns out it's the same Graham Bonnet of Rainbow. Brilliant voice

  • Iron Throat !!!

  • What a rare movie !!!

    Thank you so much !!!!

  • THAT WAS THE PERFECT RANGE FOR HIM.HE SHOULDT TRY TO GO SO FREAKING HIGH AS A HARD ROCK/METAL SINGER HE COULDT REACH THE TOO HIGH NOTES

  • @beroth77 What? He's gone higher than even guys like Dio and Dickinson.

  • @beroth77 check glenn hugess in this video" Glenn Hughes - The Voice Of Rock Russia 2004 " guess it's the highest i've ever heard in rock at least.i was surprised.

  • @beroth77

It's true, that some of the notes in that video are extremely high, but those are all falsetto notes. While Graham easily hits an E5 in many of his later songs with full power voice, many great rock vocalist die around C5-D5. In this aspect I believe Graham was one of a kind, not only in his era, but throughout the whole history of rock.

  • @Dannyfalussy Grahams Highest full voice notes are G#5s! And he does it with so much power and chest connection. Amazing, considering that he is probably a high baritone

  • @Goblonaut He is definitely a baritone of some kind, and yes: amazing.

  • @Dannyfalussy - What you refer to as full voice is just distorted falsetto, making it sound fuller.

  • @Jouwl

I understand what you imply, but i'd say that his voice goes to head voice only at around D#5 or E5, which is inarguably a very uniqe skill. I have listened to most of his works, and i have to agree, that around F#5 and G5 it must be a distorted falsetto - although gotta say that the power of that is remarkable too. - What Graham actually did in a fantastic way, is that it is really hard to tell when his voice changes between the standard and the head voice technique.

  • @Dannyfalussy I didn't check this song for the highest note, but most of the times he sings it, there is a rather clear falsetto/head voice sound to it.

But then sometimes there's not. Sometimes he adds rasp and chesty tone to that highest note. I'm just saying that despite this, the foundation of his voice at those pitches is falsetto/head voice.

And I agree that he is damn impressive.

  • @Jouwl

yes, you're right, it sounds as if he begins to hit the note on a falsetto, and then turns it back to normal voice, and doing it on the same pitch: "Ten little indians....STAN( in falsetto) - DING (in powerful voice) ". Just amazing.

  • @Dannyfalussy STAN is not in falsetto. This is head voice, easly transformed to richer sounding mix voice on DING. The fact is...if it`s high and not powerful, still it doesn`t have to be falsetto. In most cases, especially in rock tunes or pop ballads with qualified vocalists, higher notes are mostly in mix and head voice.

  • great ballade

  • love this from way back when i was very young! great to hear it again.

  • bellissima canzone!

  • The best voice I've ever heard. Powerful, masculine, soulful... this is one of the best vocal performances of all time. Graham is soaring up to the D above high C on every other line and his tone on power at such extreme pitches is supreme.

  • @CuriosityRoads his voice is just incredible

  • @CuriosityRoads This man hits his notes without falsetto. Awesome voice.

  • the future voice of rainbow and alcatrazz awwwsome

  • This is how u supossed to sing it... :)

  • Awesome voice i've never heard anything like this.

  • they had another minor hit with "the walls fell down" (in Australia). The BeeGee influence is even more obvious in that one

  • The Bee Gees are rightly the 3rd largest songwriters of all time....a lot don't realise the work they have written...brilliant words/track and of course fantastically sung...

  • @BRINIS200S Too many people snicker when I try to tell them the brillance of the 60s Bee Gees. They were unstoppable from 67- onward. Love the Odessa album. So much talent and so young. Wow.

  • WILL ALWAYS LOVE GRAHAM.THANX.GREAT COMMENTS TO.he should be a household name.NOBODY SOUNDS LIKE HIM

  • Great song and great hair !

  • Man why isn't this man a household name? The voice is brilliant! I have followed his career for many years, met him on a few occasions and he was a total gentleman!

  • cracking song!

  • Very beautiful song...: )

  • Awesome song but those hairdo's are a living proof for global warming. Back in those days you needed that much fur to stay warm. +1 nice song :)

  • Lord of the Rings band.

  • Damn, this is good stuff :o/

  • Just as perfect as it could get. I'm hugely imressed by the song...and so sweet to see a very-very young cute Graham! :)

  • I never ever get tired of listening to this, I think it's superb, a great song and fantastic vocals.

How I wish we could hear this kind of song these days!

  • @cruithneuladh Totally agree with you mate.

  • nobody has a voice like this singer!!!

  • Introduced to this song by Stevie a music maestro.....!!

  • powerful voice makes powerful song.No quiet verses/building up to chorus.Just a powerful statement like dynamic from start to finish.Awesome.

  • @TheNotpc1 Summed up perfectly.

  • excellent chanteur, et le meilleur dans Rainbow..

  • Quel plaisir de se replonger dans son passé.

  • loved this song when it came out and have their greatest hits cd.My favourite is, The Walls Fell Down, thanks Annie

  • @newrycelt52 Glad you liked it, newrycelt52

  • @newrycelt52 Yes I found "The Walls Fell Down" whilst browsing YouTube via son's PS3 last night. Hubby didn't like the track, but I did!

  • always liked this one. thanks for posting!

  • The voice from skeggie

  • he is awesome

  • How aweseome! I wonder if the people sitting in the audience truly realized the great talent performing in front of them, and if they had a little voice telling them that GB was going to be a powerhouse in the music industry for many years to come! I would have had chills running up-n-down my back if I were there!

  • I'm a 60's man but I've never heard of these guys. Never.

  • @huskyjerk you must have been asleep or enjoying the 60s this is a classic Ididnt know it was Bonnet but knew the song

  • Awesomeeee tune a gr8888 60's classic...thank you for the play tomtokenator............>>>> scoots >>>off >>to >>>download >>>this

  • Young Graham Bonnet and this shows how he has been in his profession.

The way he sings is exactly the same as he has been.

    Great Video.

Thank you very much for sharing with us!

  • IVE NOT HEARD THIS FOR YEARS BUT ITS AS GOOD NOW AS IT EVER WAS

  • Beautiful voic !!!

  • OMG!, what a voice that man has !

    Graham Bonnet is King !

  • what a great song , never heard it before.

  • What a GORGEOUS girl on the background! I love the 60s aesthetics! Skinny (but healthy) girls, with angel-like lovely faces!

  • Wonder who the "Hits-A-Go-Go" girl is...?

  • vídeo bem antigo, nesta época eu tinha 2 anos de idade, muito legal o pessoal daquela época.Usavam cabelos compridos e calça boca larga.

  • This only one woman! omg look this dance!! I love this Woman, And yes the song is Wonderfullllllllll!

  • loved this my whole life...only just realised it was my uncle singing it...he married my dads sister from australia....unreal

  • Fabulous song, performed with a hell of a lot of feeling. IIRC, when Graham Bonnet recorded his vocal, the studio mikes had to be moved further and further from him, such was the power and volume of his voice. Don't make 'em like this any more.

  • he had a fantastic voice this was one of many of great songs he was involved with lovely to hear it again

  • How a-freaking-dorable can you get?

  • Superb song, and a truly great singer. Written in the days when a good song was enough and didn't violent and soft porn videos to sell it!

  • Very great song...:o)

  • すごい、初めて観た!グラハム大好き、最高!!THANK YOU!

  • PERFECT SONG

  • fuck yeah graham bonnets got PIPES!!, it seems like his voice is kind of an "aquired taste" hes one of my favorite singers specialy with michael schenker, alcatraz is great too

  • WOIW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • one of the best rock voices out there!!!

  • So Cool, and powerful voice Graham!

    しかし、マーブルズ時代のやっさんの映像が見れるなんて・・・なんていい時代。

    怒るでしかし^^

  • @Jozna no nevim česky se to lucii bile moc nepovedlo

  • One of my favorite vocalists of all time. A guy like this makes the talent on American Idol seem laughable.

  • Great Bee Gees song here

  • great song,he was good in rainbow too,

  • Oo, i love it.

  • Such a great voice, of course Blackmore and Malmsteen tried to recrute him. But I´m still waiting for a Project that works.

  • Great song (Y)

  • Anglosaxon women from the 60's in these show didn't knew how to dance. Why did they put them there? The ones from A hard day's night knew.

  • Anyone else my age would laugh at me for loving this song. Why? Am I sad?...... Or are they?

    Signed: compliment fisher.

  • No, it`s not : "Down To Earth" (1979) has some excellent

    Bonnet-tracks, like "Love`s No Friend".

"Only One Woman" isn`t his best song, it`s maybe his most popular.

His best song is "Desert Song" in Michael Schenker Group, 1982.

But overall G.Bonnet is one of the best rock-vocalists of the world of all times.

  • Great song, and Bonnet's vocal is sublime.

  • magnifique chanson!!!!!!! j'adore vive les années 60 même si c pas du tout ma génération les plus jolie chanson viennent de cette époques!!!

  • When he sings it's sounds like ROCK!

  • PERFECT

  • Written by the very young brothers Gibb, the roots of genius were coming through, great voice too, simply sublime.

  • I still say it's the "Top Gear" team in a former life. Hamster on lead vocals with a hairdo only recently discarded, May looking bashful as ever and refusing to look at the camera and Clarkson with the curly perm gyrating away in the background, before the beer belly obviously and on that bombshell we'll say goodnight.

  • OMG i was thinking the same, hahaha

    its Hamster and Clarkson LOL

    xD

  • Very few people can sing in that range!!And only Bonnett can make it look so damm easy!!! A true one off!!

  • Well, it looks easy because he isn't. This is a synch, a little showcase of the track, there's nothing wrong with that as it's a promotion - note the Maurice Gibb bass working there

  • brilliant singer and still is j vincent edwards

  • Wow it's amazing he sounds!

    Very strong voice..

  • Weird seeing him without his trademark James Dean look.

I always liked his singing in Rainbow and Alcatrazz.

  • there was only 21 year old.

  • einfach geiles lied...

  • wat een stem!

  • Ovo godinama nisam čuo i veoma sam sretan što sam ovu kompoziciju našan na YouTube!

This song i heard before xxy years, and i'm very glad to founnd it on YouTube

    Greetings from Serbia!

  • Powerful, epic song written by the brilliant Barry Gibb as a favour for Trevor Gordon, one of the Marbles, who had helped the Bee Gees when they were getting started in Australia. Superbly sung by Graham Bonnet - great voice!

  • What a powerful voice!

Great song, like that will stay forever!!

  • @dimovski11 yeah its a classic to me. grahams got pipes for sure! this is a song i keep coming back and back again to

  • @dimovski11 And he's still got it. Saw him couple years ago in SoCal. Sounded awesome even with a cold.

  • Brilliant song, but strange lyrics.Anyone know what they are all about???

  • Comment removed

  • i'd know that wail anywhere! whether it be the marbles, rainbow, alcatrazz, impellitteri, or whatever else he's been in, he is the one, the only, graham bonnet!

  • The 'B' side was great..'By the light of the burning candle'

  • Incredible voice i worship it.

  • I bought Nigel's 45 and album of this never knowing he was doing a cover!! (D-oh) Hate to admit it but this one is now my favorite. Thanks so much for posting!!! I'd love it if

    SundownerDrifting could post Nigel's version.

  • Thanks for posting. Just mind-blowingly brilliant singing and what a fine tune too. Wow wow wow.

  • What a voice , and it only got better .

  • Another classic Bee Gees song, they are what I call genius.

  • I have the single of Nigel Olsson's cover of this.

  • Did Nigel try to sing this?. or did he get Elton to do it?

  • This is Graham Bonnet. What a voice, only one voice.........

  • applebeatle you are so right Ritchie would have been pleased.I just think that in that clip he was so so angelic looking.Like another you tuber said a powerful song and a fine piece of work.

  • This is one powerful song, but i think the woman madly waving hers arms around in the background isnt necessary, and is a distraction from a otherwise fine piece of work.

    Great clip anyway
